Asus P5W64 Pro 470FSB out of the box

i haven't done vcore mod, for "normal" cooling it is not necessarily, mobo overvolts by quite a lot, i have 1.6 in bios, that gives me cca 1.64v acctual, max in bios is 1.7v

@dumo, yes it's 64WS, i use 209 bios

nb was cold water cooled, cpu with Scythe Infinity.

on P5WDH i have 1.95 on vcore, with vcore, i think that you could get over 2v easily, it's kinda funny that asus build in an overvoltage protection notice (F1 to continue after bios) at 1.92v :D i just set vcore then to ignore, like all other stuff, cpu fan, temperature...

Your FSB speed is very good. But SuperPi is not so good because of RAM speed.

Ok now dumb question, where do I get the 0022 bios ?

when you test "fsb" , why you need that Spi faster? The purpose is showing how high this board can handle it right?;)

vcore 1.35 I think, vmch 1.5
vdimm is 1.9v ddr900 4-4-3

Well, if 400X9 is faster, then what's the point? I've done well over 500 FSB on the P5B Dlx. In fact I was the first to go over 500 on that board. Just an exercise to me. I think people's obsession with FSB is somewhat misguided. I got an X6800 so I don't have to worry about it. 370X11 with tight timings is plenty fast for me. You are knowledgeable about many things. But you have a lot to learn about Intel.

I got my Vapo LS back from repair (ChillControl blew up :() yesterday, should be a fun weekend ahead..

Display actually stayed on -73 for a while but I had the heating on in the house so it got a bit hotter. :( Still, can't complain. :D

If you run beta bios...Get a spare bios chip from Asus, just in case.

you misunderstood the whole concept off showing high(est) FSB, it's not about how fast, it's about how high fsb goes. At that attempt, I had lowest divider and timings by spd, when I wanted to go for fastest spi time, it will be all different.

I understand. But I'm just much more interested in "fast". :)

Very happy with this mobo, steady as a rock. I m not sure why my mobo wont pick up the changes i make to the multiplier. @8x no go @ 10x no go.
Am i doing something wrong?

Someone on the Vapochill forums has said that this board does not suffer from the cold reboot problem the P5W-DH does... is anyone else able to verify this?

When I was testing the overclock on it Im sure it cold-restarted like the other Asus boards do? :confused: Unfortunately I'm at work at the moment and my PC is all in bits ready to be Vapo'd up.

Does changing the Read Delay to 7 make a difference? Someone said elsewhere that doing this on the P5WDG2-WS PRO stopped the board cold-restarting.

Very strange. 10x won't work anyway because you don't have a XE chip. (10x wouldn't even work on a S5 ES E6600).

Have you tried lower multipliers? Does the chipset handle it?

Currently running my E6600 at 7 x 466 (P5B) and I am looking at this board as I need 3 x 8x PCI-E slots.....wondering if I can keep the same overclock...

Why would this be necessary? Can't you just flash back to the release version?
Please explain, perhaps I missed a thread somewhere, sorry.

Very strange. 10x won't work anyway because you don't have a XE chip. (10x wouldn't even work on a S5 ES E6600).

i am quite sure, that with stock bios, don't really know what version it was, the mobo didn't cold boot, even when oced, i used 400x9, but when i flashed to 209, it cold booted just as every 975/965 board i used

-60 to - 70 on stock LS? I don't think mine ever gets near that on first startup. ?? Not sure, but I think it's more like in the high 40's normally.

Fast Spi is good and high FSB is also good. The only thing this board need is LN2, other than that it will be 500ish FSB and multi not higher than 9X.

We need to see multi 12X or 13X with FSB >400...
