huh? Defects appear statistically per wafer area. If die is smaller, then there is less chance of defect. Also manufacturers try to make square dice so more can fit on circular wafer.

usually when I hear "SiGe", I take it to mean SiGe substrate used for high performance bipolar transistors.

i know that wafers have a certain amount of errors on it , that is why the wafer that amd uses costs about $200 more then the wafer that intel uses , but the errors i was talking about was the process of the apm actually making the chipQuote:

this is what i was told anyway , the person that told me could be wrong , except the wafer price is right , or close to it , intels price is about $64 and amd's price was about $258
