Jmax im not sure what up with you, andre has never lied to us before and i dont see why he would start now.

It has been proven many times by many respected people on this forum, that when clocking the NB that high the latency gets so loose that performance is usually less then lower ram speeds at tighter timings. Andre is completly right, everyone knows that. Maybe do some research before you sstart insulting people next time. This is similar to how BH-5 at 2-2-2 was usually faster then TCCD even though the tccd was at higher mhz.

Im not sure why it so hard for you to understand and i am also not sure why you are insulting such a valueable member of our forum. Andre spends alot of time and im sure money to bring us these early previews and it must a be great insult to him to be called a lair after all of his hard work.

Even if you don't believe Andre, there is no reason for the unkind words. The least you could do is backup your argument and debate like a rational human being before you go around accusing people.

Hey Andre, thanks for your quick response, i did not word my question right however...

What i mean is when the CPU FSB is limited, not the motherboard, will the c2 chipset help get more fsb out of it?

Like in my situation where my e6300 wont play at 520mhz FSB with 1.6vmch or with 1.9vmch. yet 510 is stable as a rock at 1.6vmch.

Would there be hopes of higher FSB in that situation, or do i simply need a new CPU?

Show me how can he does a worse time in 6x600MHz ram 600 than 9x400MHz Ram 600MHz ?
Strap don't make huge change in spi 1M times.
And I perfectly know the BH5 sticks :p:

Conclusion : your 600FSB is really nothing, just a marketing cheat.

Jmax is not jealous, i'm not jealous. it's just sad to see Asus use your skill to show nothing.

If 965 chip need high FSB, it would change to memory low timming.

That is why P5B-D cannot oc to FSB 400+ before 0402 BIOS, but 0502 BIOS is easy to oc FSB 500.

ASUS BIOS team change memory timming after 0502 BIOS, so everyone can do FSB 500+.

You can flash 04xx or 03xx BIOS. You will know P5B-D is cannot oc to 500+.

Where is the interrest of 600FSB if it's equal to 300FSB.

Even a E6300 don't need 600FSB to hit his limit, the only interrest is for cpu-z.

What's wrong with you guys? Why is it so hard to understand? There is no doubt in my mind, that for 600MHz FSB to be possible to achieve, ASUS engineers had probably to resort to loosening chipset timmings even more, therefore performnce will suffer...

Whether 600Mhz is really useful or needed more than fro ASUS to have bragging rights is another story... But it doesn't mean, 600MHz is fake! We've seen 584MHz on C1 revision, so why 600MHz cannot be done on C2? Stop using word "fake" as it seems you don't understand its meaning.

We will know if it was (factory) cheated when p5b C2 will be out.

I never accused anybody, just those 600 aren't fair.

I assume i am working on 600FSB with C1 rev, and now it has lost lot of interrest with those 600++ done with RD M/B. :(

I'm under the impression it's just an RD war between asus and giga and i was the first warrior fighting with both brand :D

The war is only good when there is a winner, but here the customer can't win ....

I don't think AndreYang started this thread to claim FSB WR :fact: It's simply to show that *perhaps* new C2 revision mobo can reach even higher speeds than C1. It's not automatically, as many seem to see it, "oh look at me, I have ES mobo and FSB WR!"

Bacchus is right. Calling something "fake" implies the person manipulated the results. And saying someone "cheated" is a very serious allegation. If using pre-production hardware is cheating, then I guess all the people with ES processors and RD600 engineering boards are cheats too.

Bacchus did 32M in under 13 mins. with the P5B Dlx @ 3618MHz. Can your board do that? I doubt it.

At very high FSB, the latencies are worse. But to say a 965 will lose at any FSB speed is inaccurate.

Now, take a guess and tell me what 32M would be if there was 600x6 in there as well (another thing is, we wouldn't be able to compare it around same mem speed due to lack of "below FSB" ratio) ;) I can bet you $100 that it won't be any better than 14:10 or 14:15... Probably even worse than that.

Strap is very important if we use memory (spi >4m)
But, since I haven't seen difference on 1m between 1066 and 1333 strap, I wonder why the 1600strap could do such difference (more than 0.4s)

Can my board do that? If I can hit the same crazy clocks on ram as he can, It will.

I will let you know once it is all back together -- Iwaki needs a power cord, and I am working on the last few parts I need.
