You can try to glue the wire near the chip so that it doesnt move anymore and the solder will not be able to come loose that easy. Hot glue is certainly not a problem on your pcb. Quick fix glue should do neither. Been glueing a few times on a vga core for example with quick drying glue, but I've also fixed wire on my PCB with the same glue.
what about the fsb voltage?

I think it's a BIOS only option to have more then 1,45V Vfsb.

Nice FSB, maybe your RAM is holding you back. Vmch mod would be nice to have, but there is still no good news from Tapakah: he has someone working on a BIOS mod for higher Vmch.Quote:

My board has lots of droop, low vcore voltage and who knows on the Dimms at this point.
the deluxe boar owners sem to have more of handle on it as far as the other voltages. this board soen't have a setting for Vmch in the current bios (0509 and 0701)
I changed psu to a 700 watt ocz (overkill, but only one I could find locally) but nothing changed. However , before I haul the board out AGAIN, I would like to be able to do as much as I can to fix all the litle quirks that are known.
Strangely, sometimes as I was working my way up, it wouldn't boot at say 515 Mhz, but would at 525 or 530.
So after the usual kicking , screaming, dirty tricks, etc. here I am. I can reach 4.34 with 8 or 9 multiplier, but 8 is faster overall. My temps are hanging in at totally frozen, so turning up the heat, voltage wise is my only way to go. It ought to hit 5Ghz easily. that's only 12 Mhz more buss, and I think that the NB may like the OEM multiplier a bit better.
Mind you 8 x 625 would literaly smoke.it is plenty quick right now, but you know how it goes...:D
I used a 100k trimmer for the vdroop mod, works like a charm!. After som fine tuning, every setting in bios is dead on:)
a couple of questions
1) what gauge wire are you using?
2) any news on an fsb tweak?
I am at 543 fsb
3) what would Vmch change?
I am researching this at the moment
My board is running, and with all the crap attached, I would prefer to take it out ONCE more and do it all

1) what do you mean? the dia meter of the wires I used when soldering my mods? Don't know, it doesn't really matter either. I've used wires in the past which I could barely see with my eyes, didn't had problems with them except when I needed to search where the wire was :D
2) I don't know any tweak for your FSB, I think your bord topped out. Maybe better cooling could help it, but I'm just gessing know, I don't have a good view on the situation.
3) Vmch is on 1,25V on those boards. Vmch is the chipsets' main voltage. Higher Vmch could make it possible to hit higher FSB.
Take out your board and apply all Vmods that have been posted here, I don't believe the Vmch and Vfsb hardmods will be found for this board.
I'm pretty sure vDimm or even PCI-e voltage would help slightly raising FSB (more power over the NB)
well I have been to 550 at 7 multiplier, so my 543 is still under that.
I have a NB large heatsink with fan, plus with the vapochill, it doesn't even get warm (close to cpu)
the SB gets warm, so I have a fan and maybe another larger heatsink to throw on there
I am rumaging thru a bunch of really old boards, looking for parts...
I have the board on the bench right now.
just finished VDimm and it works well
so I am working on VCore and droop at the moment
maybe someone will chimn in with VFSB before I put the board back in the box
In any case, in an hour or so, I should be either over 4.5Ghz or blown up
I am checking in once in a while , so I will check again before buttoning things up.

Yea, it's all about BIOS mod for the next moves. It's AMI BIOS, didn't find much help with google on doing some BIOS modding myself. I'm a newbie when it comes to that, guess we just have to wait until Tapakah's connections decide to release their modded bios. It's almost done he said some weeks ago.
Would these vmods (i.e. vdimm, vdroop, and vcore) work the same for the P5B-E??
If some one figures it out, then probably.

Indeed, the mods should be the same, or atleast very close to those we have.
For the VFSB and Vmch mods, can someone check the voltages at the points I've marked. When checking the points marked in red, make sure that the system is idling (ie sitting at the desktop), and that no voltages are changed in BIOS when taking the readings.

On the first picture, on the place where there should be an elco and where I meassured 1,35V, well... I think I've meassured 1,25V there last week, but I should check it again because I've been meassuring a lot.Quote:
