I'm thinking of going to Fry's and grab a P5B in the morning. The $219 sale price on newegg is looking good right now, but I have absolutely no use for the board other than to set it up as a bench test rig. I won't waste space with screen shots, anyone interested in my results check my sig. :)

Today I'll try to break 3,65 GHz :D
With so many uncontrolled variables, it's hard to know just how goodQuote:

We all agreed that the best chip is the one with the best A.C. characteristics,
but the only way we can rank chips is under controlled conditions where all
variables are kept constant. That means all CPUs are tested in the same
mobo, same ambient temp, same memory, same Vcore and other tweaks,
same cooling hardware, and same testing software.
Well i got home and did a test with L627A090 and it sucks it sucks bad cant even do 3800mhz with 1.65V it BSOD`s right away ..To bad i was hoping for 4000mhz on water ...
I`m keeping my L624A767 which can do 3960mhz with 1.65V and 3600 orthos stable with 1.52V...
here is the pic of the boxes...

Sorry to hear the bad news, that is pretty bad compared to the other chip.
guys what means the last 3 number of the batch :
L627A730 === im asking because on shop near my house they have two E6400 with same steping L27A730 even the last 3 numbers are the same .
i thought the last 3 numbers couldnt be the same cause they are de serial number , why are both of the E6400 same batch???
regards
Someone else said it's a batch number. Many chips have the same batch number.
just got a L628A267 from Mwave! WOOT!
So far running 3.4Ghz 1.43v! Great chip so far. It got to windows at 3.6Ghz 1.43v but wasnt stable.
UPDATE: Running 3.5GhZ 1.47-1.48v now. 3.6Ghz may be reachable sub 1.5v, WOOT!
UPDATE: Found out that 3.6Ghz wont do. The good news is i know its my board not my CPU that is limited cuz 3.5Ghz 1.46v was rock solid. For now i put it back down to 3.4Ghz to enjoy the nice 1Ghz OC with low voltage. (1.43v)
Budwise,
Congrats! MWave hooked me up too, hehe. Nice voltage/FSB.
thanks Brahmzy! Im happy i decided to take the risk. Hopefully 1.43v is overkill for this chip. I didnt quite do it in increments as i should have, but now time to test a bit, drop it down, and test a bit more.
Budwise, set you vcore to auto and try 3.2ghz, then 3.3ghz. You should be able to hit one of them @ default volts. I was able to with a week 26 & week 27, haven't tried the week 28 yet for that particular senario.
I got my C2D E6600 tray from outpost 3 days ago i ordered and receive L28A380
trying to get a P5W DH.... maybe i can test it around next week.
I'm also thinking about getting on the bandwagon for a week 27/28 E6600 as my week 23 is not performing to my expectations. If I can sell it for a decent price, I'll do so. Any recommendations on where to buy my new E6600 from to get a week 27/28? I really want 3.6 ghz under 1.50v!!!
Alight, somehow I managed to dump my week 23 E6600 for a solid price and just bought one today from Newegg (9-11-06). Brahmzy, could you please post your motherboard settings that you used to achieve 3.6 ghz as that is what i'm shooting for. I'll post results when I get them. Thanks!
