DS3 (F4 or F5) and OCZ works fine for me at DDR800@4-4-4-12/2.0V, DDR850@4-5-4-15/2.0V (1:1) or (5:4) DDR940 @5-5-5-15/2.1V.Quote:

BTW, I raised all the voltages and lowered the multi to 6x to eliminate other variables. It's either the mobo or the ram that won't do over 425fsb reliably.
Thank you.Quote:

@all
thanks for the inputs guys i do appreciate it a lot. i can only do 380 x 7 on my E6300 so far on F3 bios but i am hoping and praying it could do 400 or 1:1 hehehehe maybe a little more tweaking will finally get me into 400fsb. ;)
DS3 with F6b BIOS
TYPE: 2 x 1024 MB D9 TeamGroup Xtreem PC5400 (3-3-3-8 ones)
MAX: not sure yet, runs at DDR800 3-4-3-8/9 400mhz 1:1 2.2V and DDR1066 5-5-5-15 2.2V -still testing (haven't tried higher voltages yet)
BOOT?: no problems at all
Well have to RMA my Team DDR2-800
not stable at 800mhz at all. tried range of timings and voltages, just wont stay stable.
SPD even says 5 5 5 18 for some reason. Not impressed.
Can run them at ddr2-533 with 4 4 4 12 timings alright, but thats not what I bought!
Thats running F5 bios on DS3
I heard DS3 F6b is best BIOS for DS3 ,its true?Quote:

RAM is 2x1GB Patriot DDR2-800 Low Latency, works and clocks beautifully. (board had older bios and booted fine with this RAM)
izit ok for my mobo ds4 to flash from f2 to f5? coz i skip f3 bios.and izit better to flash it by using bios menu..rather just updating thru bios utility under windows?
Ok please show me where to get this f6 bios at please?
ill give it a try
Currtnely im 6300
ds3 f3 most stable
3220
team 667 @ 920 4-4-3-9 1:1
no voltages raised at all except for cpu @ 1.36
Check out this reply from Team Group support (OPB)
Would everyone else agree with his assumption, or just believe me that the ram is FUBAR?Quote:
this is OPB, I don't think you get the point how to get it stable
DS3 basically is the wrost board I don't even wanna take a look
it got tons of problem, I don't think our 800 4-4-41- is that bad.
I mean it's up to you if you wanna rma or not , try get a good PSU, from your rig,
I don't think you WILL make any conroe system work stable
My honestly and sincerely suggestion here, I just don't wanna piss you off and don't wanna waster your time,
get real, Gigabyte 's ds3, dq6 are all :banana::banana::banana:ty board without any value. period.

To be honest, if this ios how their tech support reply to queries, simply thinking that their ram is awesome and it must be my fault, I think I'll be better off getting some OCZ or Corsair or something

Romeo,
It isn't a problem to flash from F2 to F5, this because the BIOS file is always a COMPLETE package, so it erases he BIOS first and loads the new one after!
And flashing under windows is no problem for me, I just flashed my pc remotely from my work! (logged in to my computer at home while I am at work):stick:
It is flashed and running
DS4 flashed with DQ6 F5 Final

DS3 is crap... blah blah blah. our ram is awesome.. its great any problems ... oh its your hardware... nothing wrong with out ram.
ive seen him say it many times before, same with OCZ and GSkill reps.
do i dislike them for that.. no not really, this is typical manufacturer crap that i have grown accustomed to seeing.
the fact of the matter is.
pound for pound dollar for dollar the ds3 is THE board to have.
there is NO OTHER baord on the market that can do what the DS3 does at such a low price.
This also is 100% typical of Gskill to say this crap too.
but wait!!!!
currently OCZ. Geil and GSkill are working with Gigabyte to get their ram working properly!!!!
from what i understand Geil and OCZ have completed their testing and the results are good.
one thing OPB and GS Technician need to understand is that if you take one of the top 3 hottest selling conroe boards and you take the hottest selling ram and pair them up and they dont mate well ... then you need to get off your arse and call each other and say, "hey lets put our heads together and find out what is different with our two companies products and find out if we can fix it."
they havent done that earlier but now they are. but not soon enough.
dont throw away your DS3 guys.. there is a bright star in the horizon.
look for results possibly the end of this week!
thats what I was thinking lestat!
THer is a new F6 bios official released today. Fixed vdimm issues & e6300/6400 overclocking features added.
I wonder if thats what the problem might be?
I'm gonna check it out when I get home from work, if the ram is still acting up, its going back.
OPB is talking from his ass. The ram is bad, not the DS3.Quote:

wassup bro? i threw away my infinity to try my luck on the ds3, unfortunately, my mems dont seem to like the board! is there a specific bios update that fixes this issue? i cant even get it to boot! thanks!
Hey guys give kevin a break, me and him talk personally alot, when I first told him about my ds3 ventures and team 667 he said the same to me, ds3 sucks and dont try and OC the ds3..
See the thing about kev is that he always gets the best hardware to play with..
IE badaxe and X6800's etc etc etc
For the budget blue collar guy like us this is our best bet, he probably just has dealt with alot of ppl complaining about this particular combo, and maybe thats why hes pizd, we all know this ram flies, and we all know this board has potential...
Its just for some dumaz reason theres a FSB wall with certain D9GMH...
I think its in the secondary timings that we arent alowed to play with as of yet..
With better bios' and a little more tinkering im sure well all be happy with out sub $400 conroe killers..
Im happier than a fly in a cow pasture im @ 3.2 for 354 dollars..
Yes id surely like to have a few hundred more mhz, and thats the only reason I havent jumped ship yet..
The bios' will mature and with that higher Oc's, patience is a virtue..
Ill hit Kev with a message and let him know of all the bad publicity this statement has caused him and team, im sure hell reply in good nature.. whenever he gets unbanned.

Basically I am just honestly to say that, if you like you take it, you don't like then zip.
or you can bet on what I say before, take the ram to columbus ohio, I test in fron of you, if that 's no problem then you just say: thanks OPB!
then do me apology and understand that's NOT RAM's prob. period.if that's really the problem,I will pay whatever cost you for the trip, and I shut up
OPB
I am the man stand what I said, DS3 is just piece of crap. I don't care how good it sell.
superlol
OPB is the reason i ended up with 1000mhz 4-4-3-4[-2] (orthos stable) (<=2.2v)
period
reason enough to like the guy

LOL @ OPB!
I'm running my E6400 OC'd to it's stable limit with OCZ ELP R1 PC6400 that isn't supposed to work on the DS3 and trying to figure out what makes the DS3 a "piece of crap". Is it the fantastic overclocking, the rock solid stability, great support, 3 year warranty or the low price? Maybe OPB doesn't like blue PCBs?
