Kunaak, I know you might not want to answer this but the BIOS your using to get these results is the same one Dumo was using? He stated there were still many bugs so I'm guessing there one in the same.

It sure is amazing how much a new BIOS changes things. This should sure give a vote of confidence to those waiting on the other high end DFI boards. :)

Kunakk had already written this in previous post about how d*mn buggy the bios was for him.

You need also notice that he is using a 6400 processor with 8 multiplier not an ES6600 like me and having to wrestle to get anywhere near 400FSB so just wait and see if they can sort the bios for real release since I am sure some of you will kill the board or swear it will not boot with the 816 in its' current state.

I want to see retail CPU's doing >400mhz FSB on the DFI because for me it's impossible. Those 816 screens with ES cpu's are nice but I want to see retails doing >400mhz FSB

I already saw his post. I simple wanted to know if they were both refering to the same BIOS. Is there a problem with that question?

Also I can see he is using a E6400, I'm not blind. Thats the same processor I am using.

I will be waiting for the BIOS to be completely refined and released before truely running it. I have the BIOS though and I'm not afraid to use it if I feel the urge. Just because I'm new here doesn't mean I don't know what I'm doing. Funny how so many people here assume others no nothing. If I told them what I did for a living I bet they would rethink those claims. If you didn't mean what you said in the way I'm taking it then I apologize for my outburst. It has been a rough morning and i'm assuming your post was towards me since you quoted me.

I can even boot at 450fsb but windows freezes.

Hmmm, I think I should get an other CPU, my CPU is really weird, speedstep doesn't work on it :S

when he releases the Bios, you guys will definatly be happy, cause it drastically changes how this Board OC, but realize, this bios isn't perfect yet.

I'm sorry I'm one who managed to get hold of the new bios, and like the guys here said I'm borked, if you've got the bios don't use it!

well I used that bios and now my board won't boot, so I'm stuck. Can you tell me how you managed to get around it?

I'm not blaming anyone, I knew the risks, I had the bios yesterday and flashed before anyone said there were problems.

I've tried clearing cmos and removing battery.

when I power up all i get is power supply clicking on and off every 5 seconds. I tried with a ps2 keyboard and the insert key, still no post...

can anyone take enough pity to help??

Thats why Dumo pulled the link down and they told people not to upload it yet. Hope you get it working again.

That is why DFI was trying their best to shutdown leaks of this bios...It is not near ready for prime time.

I had similar issues in even getting this bios to boot for testing much less any real new astounding speeds. Of course I could have super shetty ES6600. What I did was to hold down the insert key before "ever" turning on any power and hold it until I did actually hear a beep. Took some time. And everytime I tried to restart it was after a cmos clear. Battery out did not seem necessary. Good luck to you man.

Has anybody had success/failure experiences with running 4 DIMMS in this board with old/new bioses when OCing? I plan on running 4x1GB DDR2 (667) PC2-5300 Patriot Dual Channel Low Latency and am hoping for maybe 3.4GHz on a E6600. (I know, I'm not Xtreme... :P)

450 is pushing it, with 2 gigs of ram.
occassionally it wont boot, at this speed, so while this is drastically higher then any other bios Offerd before it, but I am not gonna try to claim this a easy FSB to achieve.

I dont like posting 32M or anything like that anymore, cause I am sick of the whole "well thats nice, but look what I can do with my CPU".
my last 3-4 topics in this area, are filled with people going "well thats nice but see my CPU here".... I am burnt out on that whole mentality.
so I am not trying to show speed, and I am not trying to claim this is the fastest or anything.

I am just showing what I did with this bios, to show what kinda improvements are possible. nothing more.

Same here i'm buying this board not matter what tomorrow i wanted it anyway but to my problems at the start but it looks like dfi have sort it out with this new bios, thats why my last to motherboards were dfi Veuns and dfi-sli dr.

honestly I dont know how this board compares to the P5WDH,
that board costs way too much for me to really take serious. I rarely can spend $270 for a motherboard... I know the board can be found occassionally for better prices but most of the time it hovers between $260 and $270 and is nearly impossible to find.

if I was gonna go for a Asus board, it would be the P5B Deluxe, since that boards alittle more affordable for me.
but I am leary of both boards, since my last 2 P5WD2-E's both died for little to no reason. (1 board was droop modded- second board just died 2 hours after first post... no clue of why)

do I have no direct experience with the newer Asus boards to say whats better.

Hello!

Ich have a question about DFI Mobos and Asus Mobos.

Why are Asus Mobos (especially P5B) the best OC Mobos?
I have seen, DFI Infinity 975X isn't so bad and give you very good oc results.
And i believe that RD600 will be the best oc mobo is this right or not?

i used the 814 bios :slapass: which was only suppose to be an dfi internal test version and after flashing never posted since tried the insert key and bought a new reprogrammed bios chip still the same , powers up but no posting beep, no video , no floppy seek, so whether the bios did something to the board, or whether i'd harmed something on the board messing about with it afterwards i'm not sure so unfortunately i am going to have to replace the board , not sure whether to get the same board again or to try the asus pw5 dh board instead

it's not the score i'm interested in but if the board can hanle the load of 3d or 32m on that speed, 1m is not verry much load.

it's either the dfi lanparty or the msi powerup for me, i think the green pcb of the dfi will look nice with the green pcb of my 7950gx2. any confirmed results of the dfi with a 7950gx2, any screenies of a e6600 @ 400x9?

+very nice OCing with the new BIOS
+here in Germany its 5-10% cheaper than P5WDH which keeps on throwing bugs/failures/problems out

$User:slapass:ASUS *without the HowToMakeP5WDHreadyForC2D-thread & P5WDH-FAQs/Prob-thread there wouldnt be very nice OCing for the P5WDH:(
if there would be that kind of effort on ALL Boards there would be MUCH more Boards keeping up with and surpassing the P5WDH.
