With the 7950GX2 the PCI-E slot goes down to 8X - while with other single GPU cards the PCI-E remains @ 16X. Trust me - with a 7950GX2 you would see a significant reduction in performance. I believe the quasi SLI of the 7950GX2 make the 965 board go into 8X ( and the second into 4X??? Maybe 8X???) mode and the card looses one of its GPUs.Quote:

Yes, can anyone confirm. If the 7950GX2 is crippled when running on 965 then what's the point?
check post #44 in this thread
wow at the FSB this board is pulling.
Definitly Not 7950gx2 Full Suport? ?
For me, it's a completly support :confused:Quote:

3DMark06 Score 11220 3DMarks
SM 2.0 Score 4876 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 4534 Marks
CPU Score 3556 Marks
cornerjack can you compare to him? thanks
CornerJacks individual scores for the SM2 and SM3 test are in line with my scores, very similar, his CPU score is obviously higher than mine.
What I was commenting on was the fact that a E6700 was only pulling 1k points more than my 4400+. I expected higher.
Makes me wonder if an upgrade is actually necessary for me.
I have no doubt that both cores on the 7950GX2 are working, unless we expect the SM2 and SM3 scores to double.
With regards to the info in post#44, that was prior to bios F3a, cornerjack has already confirmed that the F3 Bios didn't enable the 7950Gx2 but the F3a did.
I have make test to know the max frequency for bench 3DMark2006 :)
The 7950GX2 isn't overclocked (origine)

Now : overclocking 7950GX2 for make 11xxx ??? :D
Nice work! That's what I wanted to see. :D
its 16x?
For me, yes.Quote:

I like the better RAID support of this board, but I'd be pissed if I couldn't use my Ultr-120 on it. Anybody successfully remove that sink crap undernesth the mobo?

Plus depending on how deep your pockets are, the DQ6 is being touted as Kentfield ready, whereas the DQ3 isn't.

I think this board is pretty damn nice with all the extra copper cooling gear on there and extra features. I bought the ds3 because it was cheap....but I'm liking this full featured board a lot. Gigabyte did a good job this time with these conroe mobos.Quote:

Cornerjack:
How is the SATA support in this board?
Do you need drivers for normal operation (NO RAID) under either sata controller?
