ceevee did you call yet and if so what was there response?
End of NDA this week, real availability later this month.
Nuff said.
Hey guys, I talked to someone at Novatech.com and had a conversation about the E6600 and the CPUs in general, here is the conversation!
(I'm Moneeb)
[11:03:46] [Moneeb] Hi there, I have a question about the E6600
[11:04:42] [Moneeb] On the Core 2 Duo page it shows the release date as the 24th of July, however when I click "Buy Now" the delivery options show Monday 17th july
[11:04:58] [Moneeb] Is that an error in advertising or is the actual release date on the Friday the 14th July
[11:05:29] [Dan - Rep Code 0642] Monday is the next delivery day after release date.
[11:05:49] [Dan - Rep Code 0642] We get them on the friday.
[11:05:57] [Moneeb] I see, so the CPUs will be released on Friday the 14th and be delivered on the 17th
[11:06:04] [Dan - Rep Code 0642] Yes
[11:06:14] [Moneeb] So they are not in stock yet?
[11:06:23] [Moneeb] But will be on Friday :)
[11:06:35] [Dan - Rep Code 0642] Yes
[11:07:30] [Moneeb] Ok thanks Dan, by the way, is it 100% sure that the CPUs will be available to buy on the 14th of July?
[11:08:16] [Dan - Rep Code 0642] It is never guaranteed, but this is the date we have from intel.
[11:09:14] [Moneeb] Alright, thats good to know :)
[11:09:28] [Moneeb] Thanks for your help Dan! I might be buying off you soon then!
[11:09:44] [Dan - Rep Code 0642] Thanks :)
[11:09:56] [Moneeb] Bye!
So the release date is actually the 14th (in europe)!
Thanks for the info Beenom
How about a spanner in the works?

:(
Make sure you read sites well. They may sell you the E6600 and then take "2-3 weeks for delivery". So about in line with the old release dates.
it's a good marketing trick that work, since some fish bites to the line :p:
Actually thats standard disclaimer for direct from supplier/maker. People who ordered their X6800's were told that too and they have theirs now.Quote:

Approx 3-5 people got lucky(and paid the price) and got the 6800 early. In all likley hood, you are NOT going to get a 6600 or 6700 before the launch, and this is espcially true of the larger retailers. Please stop posting wrong information.
haha, a little high strung?Quote:

it was in reference to stores in general, not just the one that shipped the 6800sQuote:

I talked to BLT again yesterday.
The guy seemed a little irritated, he said he was being flooded with calls about Conroe, even a few from the media.
Anyway, he said he probably could not ship before the release date and that if I found someone who would ship to me before the release date then go ahead and buy it and just cancel my order with him.
So not exactly a confidence inspiring conversation with the BLT guy at all. He seemed kinda upset.
He also hinted that some of the processors had to be returned to the factory. Has anyone else heard about this??? It seems to fit the strange scenario with Luna having 12 then 3. I also talked with other CSRs at other companies who said that there computers showed it in stock but when they went to look the procerssors were physically gone. strange stuff.
Also does no one else have a phone? So many people post "can someone call" or "what did they say" pick up a phone and call yourself!
Maybe some of the processors they had werent B-2 steppings and they recalled them? Only thing that crosses my mind.
Maybe people that work there get their hand on one :p: (I know I would)

That sucks for BLT.
damn, I'm PCless so waiting until mid-August isn't an option...
time to cancel preorder and look around...
I just don't want to have to camp Newegg to make sure I don't get the AI adjusted price.
I ordered the 6800 today, they say 2-3 weeks time for delivery, but they say that on all items that they have no clue about.... i asked them for a better ship date, but nothing so far.
Just my opinion but I wouldn't be looking to cancel with BLT just yet. Their ETA may change. Even if it didnt change ordering elswhere that takes two to three weeks puts you getting it close to BLT's time anyway.
so is this including such processors as the E6300? or is it just the extreme edition?
the extreme edition is the only one that shipped early afaik.
wow this thread will never die :P
anyway i heard july 14 NDA and end of july is when they can start shipping and stuff
well i consider the launch date is when newegg.com post it as an item for sale, and i think it will be end of july
Newegg is going to be far behind other companies that have much more direct ties to distributors...
