no need to hope.
I love how guys all over the net are starting to argue about intel vs amd.
I dunno why people cant leave their emotions at the door.
HT2 is Intel's biggest secret. ;)
I hope HT2 offers some good stuff. If it's intel's secret, it just might ;)
BRING ON THE NEWS !
Cant wait !:)

Conroe XE = real
HT2 = not real
hope this cleared some stuff up.
No HT2? fugger and FCG say there is
yeah, but if you ask an Intel employee, they say that there is no HT for Conroe/MeromQuote:

We'll see :)
I must admit I never heard anything about HT on these new architecture. Only that HT died off with the last 965EE.
Anyway what do I know...I dont even get ES CPU's lol
Lets wait and see, I take my hat off to INTEL that they kept this a secret if there is HT2.
At 14 stages, the pipeline on Conroe is long enough to support HT. From what i hear, the problem is with the micro-ops fusion.Quote:

Although, don't go thinking that only a logn pipeline would benefit form SMT, a wider core like Conroe has would provide enough execution bandwidth for multiple threads. Also, the 2 biggest problems with the P4 implimentation (the replay bug, and fighting over the cache) could be solved seeing as the Core architecture doesn't have the first problem, and the mechanism for locking down caches for differnt cores coudl be used to lcok down caches for different threads, so each would not have to compete for cache room, in additon, 4MB is alot of cache to share.
If we only had a time machine.

inverse ht?
Inverse HT? is that like the thing AMD's working on, turning two cores into one... using software to make 2 cores work on 1 app?
intelia reported last year @ ATF that Xe model would HT . Everthing she said about Yonah and merom (conroe) Everthing she said has been spot on the money. So she pretty much pwned. the ATF forum.Quote:
