Nice job there man! :toast: Did you have any kind of problem with P5WD2-E Premium under zero temps ? My 920 wouldn't boot under -30º, when boot you can go lower but changing FSB will do a reboot for sure, it's weird, i don't know if the cpu is cold bugged or is the mobo... I wouldn't like the 920 has cold bug, so i hope is the mobo, btw it ran ok with my 630 till -50º so i don't know, maybe a 65nm+p5wd2e problem ? I hope so...:stick:

Also my p5wd2 went higher on FSB than p5wd2-e, it went till 360 @1,5 vmch and with p5wd2e have to mod @1,8volts to get the same...:slapass:

what kind of ram are you using?i have no UL but good Corsair XMS2 Pro ddr2 533 and i use 318mhz @ 3-2-2-4 for 1mb Pi or 450mhz 4-2-3-4 for 900mhz

see sig. PSU changed to Silverstone ST56ZF (560W, 12v-38A)

this is as far as i can go before the system reboots randomly.

-temps cpu is 30 idle @ 3.6Ghz 36 full load / mobo 38 full load so i don't think temp is the issue.

i-ncreasing the vcore doesn't have any effect, i've gone up to 1.45V without any result, not even 100mhz increase. so i guess something else is bottlenecking me, what could it be?

That is indeed strange. Best thing to do is look around for users with the same motherboard as you have. I am not such a fan of the NF4/Intel combination. Why didnt you get the Asus P5WD2-E Premium instead?

What kind of Motherboard is this on ? I see tiny writing in your signature about P5ND2-Sli ? thats the Nvidia based chipset board.
They are terrible overclockers, but you could try a few things in the cpu config submenu of bios like disabling thermal control for starters. Just be sure to have good cooling.

well it is the nforce4 based mobo but im still not oc-ing the board. it supports 266fsb so thats not the problem i think. i didnt get the P5WD2-E Premium because i was on a tight budget being a student and all, and this board was double the money :).
cooling is good i think. never saw 40, so i didnt hit the max there yet.

-disabling thermal control would be good, lemme try that. what does it do exactly?.

I have a same cpu. On air i could hit 4.1ghz and on water 4.5ghz. Very happy with it! :up:

Does your motherboard not give you any issues with the high fsb you are running it at?
And what is the "vmch" voltage option? What does it do?

Hi, I bought my cpu in TigerDirect, and it can this cooled by chiller(water-freon cooling). It is stable on 5.1GHz 1,5V the same cooled(prime and Super PI 32M). Motherboards without Vmods. Tomorrow me and Devil_K-ce are testing on Dry Ice. I hope on 6GHz (after Vmods).

Man, I hope. The 930 on the SS suicides just 200MHz shy of the 661 on the SS, so I it could be close. I am hoping it does a bit better on DI than the 661 does, but I think I am going to run the 661 again tonight to for a little better and if I have any DI left over, will do the 930 tomorrow or maybe next weekend. By then, maybe I'll have gotten brave enough to put the SS on the x1900 ;)

I stacked at 300 FSB, even 1 Mhz more ,and I got the blue screen error...
Mi cpu is an PentiumD 930/air cooled by SCYTHE NINJA DUAL 120MM fan,.
Is about the cooling system(under 0 celsius degrees,vapo, cascade, etc),or that's my MB limits for 15X multiplier?
With my "old" PentiumD 830,cpu (on 930 I cannot set multi to 14X), with multi set to 14X I booted and finished SPI at 317 FSB

Dang, my 661 will only do 5.8GHz on a single stage. I guess all the low cache and FSB on the Celly helps it OC ;) Man, that might be close to 7GHz on LN2...good luck with it!

the Antec can handle very well my 24/7 sytem

2x raptor 10k rpm raid 0
2 x 250GB WD ATA 7200rpms for backup
2x dvd-rw
1 x 1900
air cooled Presler 4.2ghz @ 1.35v or 4.5ghz @ 1.5v
and 4.7ghz for benchs

but i tryed to run 3d03(gt1 error) and 06(cpu bench error) with stock CF and Presler @ 4.4-4.5ghz ,the Antec is holding me back for sure and i will try Enermax and Zippy and run the tests again

DI didn't have enough capacity to hold it :eek: Need like a 3-stage cascade at least or LN2 to bench this thing here...

Yeah, I had some high expectations for benches before I started (I moved the SS to the x1900 too), but >5.45GHz benches is just too much for this small tube I have. Getting that screenie with clocks/Vc that high and NO load was a challenge on it's own. I did one 3D05 @ 5.45GHz and had to keep a constant stream of DI going in just to finish that one...it was eating it like crazy. I mean, I had to fill like 5-6x during that one bench. It wasn't enough for me to spend all night benching there, so I didn't.

I am going to make some changes to the tube that might make it better...or worse. LN2 is probably really what it would take, but I am not up to messing around with that stuff yet ;)

Yeah, WR :D I actually had it on the SS with just 5632MHz, so I just stretched that out a bit ;)

You need 2 separate folders with SPi. Open one from each folder, go into task manager, right-click on one and Set CPU affinity to Core0. Do the same for the other and set to Core1 and let them rip!

My temps are 45C idle and 68C-70C stress. Pretty hot !

1st of all, nice thread guys, very nice results in here.

Now i'm gonna build an intel dual core (9xx) system next in 2/3weeks.

I'm gonna put it under my mach2@r404a.

Now wich processor to choose? i see 920oc like hell, 930 too, what about 940?

1st i was thinking about the 940 cuzz the 16multi, an example 16*330 for 24/7 using the ddr2 mushkin 2x1gb with tight timmings, 3-3-3-10 1:1

But i guess a 940 maybe do better, the prob is that 940 gnerates more heat than the 930 and 920....

My goal is having more of 5ghz 24/7...

Should i go for a cheaper processor? 5ghz also possible that way ?

Like I’ve said to you in msn I really think that one 920 will do just fine under negative temps for your (and mine too :banana: :banana: :p: )goal of +5ghz.
I would really like that some guy around here can post results of 920 under SPC systems and show us what that kind cpu can do under -XXºc :D

One question, normally what's the maximum FSB 975X chipset specially the ones that come with Asus board can handle?

One little update of my daily use system (like you can see is dual prime stable, just as it's folding and gamming stable)
This board droops like hell, as you can see... I’ve set1.575V and I’ve got this amazing drop of 1.47V under heavy load.

Thanks, I think the same way. At 73/74C it do not fail in SP2004 small FTT.
If there is a error, the PC reboots but no error in SP2004.

looks like this CPU will go very fast below zero.

finally my d920 arrived...
its a pretty good one. 4,4ghz@1.43v 4 aquamark and up to 4450mhz 1.43vc for 1m.

but this cpu gets just too hot.
ai booster shows 60°C while running 4,3ghz 1.4vc dual prime :stick:

A question: What is the safest voltage for 24/7 at air for 65nm cedarmill?
I use 1.54v. Is that safe?

Because here with my P5wd2 Premium r1.02, my 920D@4.2 must be with vcore > 1.45v to be fully stable.

I'm using the 0606 bios. Is 0704 better for this matter ?

As we speek of a stable system, how do you guys test 100% stability ?

My test's are (all running at the same time):

- Super Pi mod 1.5 @ 32M
- Prime95 v24.14 @ Small FFTs (1st option in Torture Test)
- Memtest 3.3
- rthdribl 1.2 (Real-Time High-Dynamic Range Image-Based Lighting)

So...nobody is cooling a 9xx under a single stage for 24/7 ?

Because here with my P5wd2 Premium r1.02, my 920D@4.22 (fsb 301) must be with vcore @ 1.48v to be fully stable.

I'm using the 0606 bios. Is 0704 better for this matter ?

How do you test your 100% stability ?

My test's are (all running at the same time):

- Super Pi mod 1.5 @ 32M
- Prime95 v24.14 @ Small FFTs (1st option in Torture Test)
- Memtest 3.3
- rthdribl 1.2 (Real-Time High-Dynamic Range Image-Based Lighting)

And in that screencap you are only runningg 2 prime instances !

Which numbers would you like to see? I run 24/7 Vapochill LS -46C to -48C depending on ambient.

4326MHz (309 x 14) 1.3875 Vcore ~ used for email, websurfing

5040MHz (315 x 16) 1.5875 Vcore -36C ~ used for benching, rendering, number crunching, burning, etc.

would like to see some 920/930/940 under phase change to see their overclock 24/7.

vc was around 1.53V.

The only problem i got is that temp is at 62°C with these settings...idle of course :D

its a bit weird because sometimes i got 72°C@load and sometimes only around 58°C@load.
dunno why, checked everything 2-3 times but couldn see any problem with the mounting :-/

i didnt try out that much bios settings.

cooling is thermaltake golden orb... but it :censored: :stick: ..i would prefer a sonictower+2x120mm fans :>
mobo is an asus p5wd2 premium without any mods (so far).

P5WD2-E (which is always showing different Vcore readouts, so don't mention it)
1Gb OCZ PC2 6400 EB PE

I'm using watercooling atm, but the vapo is waiting behind the door. (literaly)

Vcore in bios is set to 1.45V, Vdimm to 2.25V, MCH voltage is untouched because the motherboard has problems going over 300Mhz :( (it doesn't need more V under 300Mhz FSB)

First 3Dmark03 run with my 641, but still using old X800 XT vga, however no.2 on the Xtreme 3D team for X800 XT cards and this with only mild software overclock on vga (550/523).
Goes to show Cpu power can still push the show along...:fact: I don't feel comfortable benching higher at the moment with passive cooled NB...
Problem is score can't be published on the ORB, Futuremark still have not approved new cat.6.3 drivers...:mad:

Thanks PcCI2iminal, I'm still not sure how high with only 2.3V, these 8000UL's will clock with tight as possible timings... I'm too busy doing other things with PC to do serious Memtest running. One things for sure though, I'll be installing my swiftech NB cooler this weekend....So more higher benchies too come. :banana:

Cpu temp at the end of the PCmark run was 57c :eek: it just destroyed my chiller... which was really only supposed to be a gpu cooler anyway;)

SuperPi_mod1.5 - 32Mb run

I notice if I put Vcore on 1.5v System sometimes does not want to boot...:stick: but at 1.48v ok to boot, Ai-Booster in windows to do the rest...:) This hapens no mater what Fsb:Ram ratio, using 0606 bios
