Well my optie is the magic stepping, 0530TPMW. I'm pretty happy with it at 2.7ghz but I'm sure it would do more.
The problem is an ongoing one with my mobo. It hangs on boot at any FSB between 301 and 312. So I can boot this thing at 9x300 or 9x313 but not in between. I'm gonna try copying all my bios settings, then completely clearing, reflashing, and reloading them by hand. Hopefully that will end this BS.
I think I need better cooling for 10x300, but again I get the failed boot similar to the "bad" FSBs at any voltage between 1.4 and 1.6 so I'm not really sure until my board is fixed.
PS - My memory would not run higher than 285mhz at 1t before I got this chip. Now it works at both 300 and 313mhz at 1t.

I ordered it from Monarch last Tuesday, immediately after I got notified that I'd have to wait 1mo for my 165. I received it last Thursday.Quote:

The thing is that they told me that they ran out of stock from their warehouse and has to get a shipment from their retail store. So I am guessing I got the old stock in the retail store.
right now it is rock stable at 2.6ghz 1.31v on my water system. Will give her more volts later on
Just recieved a CCBWE 0530TPMW Opteron 175 from Monarch. I ordered it on the 10th. It was OEM, $461.00 + shipping. I'll let everybody know how it does.
Now that they jacked up their prices, I'de take the retail 170 from newegg over a "chance" of getting a decent stepping from monarch.. you're taking your chances from both anyway...
i just got my oem 170 from monarch, CCBWE 0534SPMW :\
wondering if i should try and refund/exchange for a 175, even though i'm already nearly broke... and no guarantee if they still have 0530s...
although i'm open to any trades (my oem 170 + cash for your 170/175 with 0530 or earlier stepping?) :)
man, i can prime all day long at 2.6ghz with 1.3v but I can't even get it to prime at 2.8ghz with 1.52v. I am really starting to think that either my mobo or my PSU is not holding up.
thats what i thought.. oh well thought id ask.Quote:

peace perc,
got a 170 CCBWE 0534SPMW from komplett.se
not that great but neither is my cooling.
does 2400MHz dual-prime stable on stock v-core. maxes out at 2700MHz and 1.52Vcore super-pi 1MB (dual instances)
did it fail prime at 2700?Quote:

i ordered earlier than you and still got the 0534. i'm going to drive off a bridge.Quote:

Anymore results for the 170/175 TPMW 0530?
I see lots of people have them, but not much for results....
I won't have time to get mine in and test for at least a week :(Quote:

small update on my 170 0534 SPMW...
completely stable at 2700MHz and 1.52-1.55V. (prime, super-pi 32MB and so on...)
but it won't go higher. 2750 fails even 1MB super-pi...
bad cooling though, ~60C at load
retail and I didn't askQuote:

i live in switzerland and i wan't a 0530 TPMW it's possible ? where ?
hi there, what is the difference between the retail and the oem besides that i know the retail comes with hsf....
anyone can help me find an online stores who carry opterons and can shipped in my country Philippines(i already contact monarch but they dont shipped here.)
thanks....
Here are my initial results which I am happy with.
Opteron 170 (Newegg retail)
CCBWE 0530TPMW
1.42v
2.8Ghz
32°c idle
44°c load
32M stable 27m 03.453s

WOW, should have bought newegg. i got a feeling that im getting a dud again.
Ninja,
44* load, water cooled? You don't mention it?
Retail has a longer warranty and heatsink and fan. If you overclock your warranty is void anyway, and most overclockers use aftermarket cooling. The only reason I ordered retail is that I had a hunch this batch from Newegg would be 0530. Wish I could help you with a shop to order from.Quote:

did you try to dual prime it?
What's with the buzz around the Optie's latley?
Why are the so hot? Why are people getting them over SD's and X2's?
What is their prices/sockets and platforms?
I have been out of the loop lately, sorry...
More cache, run cooler and great overclockers.Quote:

OK, here is what I have with my Opteron165. Hitting 2.5 pretty easy. The problem is my second core does not advance past the 1st prime95 or SP2004 test. Here is the image and some info.

Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong. The LDT/FSB ratio is at 3x.
Thanks
More cache? 2x1mb L2? ; and even cooler and clock higher than X2's?Quote:

They all have 1Mb L2 or 1Mbx2 for dual core. The 939 dual core opty's are 165, 170, 175, and 180.Quote:

Arrived from NJ Opty 170 0530TPMW retail box. Newegg didn't let me down... one more time!
I've got two more coming from Monarch that I have to go and pickup from FedEx (ahole didn't leave that box at the door but left neweggs as always), one OEM and one retail. Will keep you posted. I've got what I wanted, hope you get it too :woot:
I won't tell you to go and buy from newegg since you might not get what you're paying for, but an order with priority rush on it might help. You can't be certain with any of the retailers anyway, so screw Monarch with their price hike. I bought mine before they jacked up the price.
Both 0534SPMW from Monarch.
damn.. how many optys do you need??? :p:Quote:

I would compromise the 175 for a 165 and get a better mobo and ram. Good chance it would come close to 2.6 too.Quote:

yeah man simular results from this optie 180 0530TPMW using air. the screenie below was taked from org owner of this chip. i will be running phase change when it gets here friday. seems these 0530s were good on the single core and just as good on the dual cores... just hope i dont find cold bug that would suck.

Use SP2004 instead of Prime. After you open it uncheck "affinity" and assign each copy to one core, or when you run Prime go to your Task Manager - Processes, right click on each Prime process and go to Set Affinity. Assign them to your cores there.Quote:

No Windows will install drivers itself. Check dfi-street.com for mobo and BIOS info.Quote:

Yeah, i hope if my 170 is a 0534SPMW that it can at least do 2.8ghz, then i'd be happy. I guess i'll find out when i get home from work what i got, but i am really hoping for a 0530; but who isn't :)Quote:

2.4ghz at stock voltage, passed 2 instances of superpi 8m, one on each core. i will post a screen shot when i increase speed.

Where did you get it? I got mine from some non-retail distributor in Toronto, Canada through Insight.ca...
Received two CCBWE 0534SPMW chips this week. Funny thing is I ordered them days apart yet they are consecutive serial numbers... 80 & 81.
First one does 2.7GHz@1.52v and the second does 2.68GHz@1.48v with Thermaltake Tower112 coolers. Not bad but I was hoping for more. ;)
