just remembered to add my PS3 to the folding team as well... its doing work now as well :)
Got my gtx280 folding. will have a 9800gtx folding soon also...
can my ps3 fold for XS and how many ppd will it get?
EDIT: ps3 internet broken:down:
Well I finally go back to work this Monday after being laid off so hopefully I can start saving up for a better GPU like a 285 I am hoping or maybe just building a new rig so then I can have two quad cores doing WCG and two GPUs folding.
Glad to hear you found work,
Yeah it has sucked being a college student and not working. I am back installing fiber optic, CAT cables again so I will be making good money. I am thinking of maybe building an i7 rig even. I have seen so many people building Lian Li cases that I want to just buy one and make it fancy and leave this one to crunch and fold all day and crunch and fold with that one and game when I want to kind of thing.
We will see though.
My 285 is now folding. Makes an annoying high tone though, probably a cap. :shakes:
Will be adding a W3570 later.
Thanks for your add to the team output! :)
Don't worry about the hissing from your card though, it's perfectly normal for nV cards. They all have it, some more, some less, and it get's worse the more juice you dump into it and the higher you clock it. It takes some extreme measures to completely silence it, but no one on our team tried that. Yet. :ROTF:
Thanks for the welcome.
Getting around 7 or 8k a day with this card. Sounds about right?
And could you please give me a basic idea of how to setup the incomgin Xeon for maximum output? I assume I have to use the smp client right? Or would it be better to just throw the Xeon on WCG and exclusively use GPU's to fold?
Yup, sounds about right. With a bit of overclocking and depending on WU you might get as much as 7-10K PPD. :)
If you want to have the maximum PPD for fah you'd need to setup VMWare and run several Linux SMPs. They get the a2 core for folding, resulting in quite a boost. For that you'd need at least 6GB with your new Xeon, better is 12 (I'm running 4 VMs consistenly resulting in a bit over 10k PPD@4.2GHz). Second to that is the Windows high performance client, resulting in half the PPD. But as you said you could also run WCG on the CPU and fold on your GPU. It's your choice. Everything is possible.
Got 6GB. Sounds interesting and I would really like to try running linux in VM. But it's probably quite a task to get that up and running. :D
YMAA helped me get my SMP clients running in VMware.
All you need is the VMware Player.
Here is a easy guide for setting them up.

VMware is very stable and the clients run great.
I just added a new user id to replace my old f@h username. New user id is "D_J01". Started folding this morning. :D
Welcome (again) glad to have you with us
Thank you. Feels good to be back. :D
Just as a note to my fellow F@H team members I will be changing my sn to D_J01. I know I will have to start posting from the beginning.
revlimiter9000. Sounds very familiar. But what happened to your username? Guest? What?
But welcome back! :D
Names...Schnames....what's in a name?
Welcome back to the team - thanks for (re)joining!
Thanks. Feels good to be back. :D
Im in :)...been a long time since I ran this progy...feels good to be back to folding.
been running for a long while slowly climbing in postion
I added this team for my folding gpu. Is this the right spot to post this info? Still the right team number?
Yeroon
Yes Yeroon, 36362 is the right team, welcome aboard.
Hi guys I been a fellow Xtremesystem user for a while, so I would like to join up the team on Folding@Home. I am currently using my username on the F@H, with the team number, so I guess my question is; how do I check my score or process, I tried looking at the Stanford site, but I cant seem to see my process.
Thanks in advance. :D
Check this list once it's been updated for your username, it should show up:

Also you can look on here for more detailed info and stat tracking:

Thanks Swiftdeathz.. started using my PC at night for F@H, as its always on so might as well... :D
Welcome to the team, David - good to have you along.
Are you running the core i7?
Am running a Core i7 950 + a 480 GTX, am using the GPU cos is much faster than the CPU...
Im back :D
And now im a sys admin aswell, so im going through the 1k machines I manage and putting f@h on them for giggles.
Are we still rather competitive or is this team and the forum starting to die off?
Funny question.. so I decided to run a second GPU that I had running around... a 275 GTX, now that I have both GPUs working under V7, am wondering how the ETA is determined? as you can see on the pic below, the 275 seems to runs throw the work faster than the 480, they both are started at the same time, so I guess am just wondering how come?
