The above is just a preview, I know it's high res, just wanted you guys to see the quality we put out here at XS  guess it's not meant for the 56k crowd . . .
Wait for the full versions, I'll do some in low res for the low bandwidth folks.
ok thanks :)
Sorry if I missed it (you prolly said it a million times already) but when do u expect to release the final version Matt? No pressure, just curious :)Quote:

Amazing job there Matt, and I can understand your pain. I imagine even that one short video, that kept looping until I realized it was less than a few minutes long :D , would have cost you a couple of hours to do, not to mention getting the A-Ok from those in the vid for the final version.Quote:

Keep up the good work !!!
Perkam
Thanks perkam :D
It did take an hour or two to edit (unfamiliar with Premiere Pro, got it from the university) and then another few hours of headaches to get the output render correct.
Last time I did a full video, it took two of us 72 hours straight to clip together a 20 minute video. My buddy stayed up the whole time, three days straight! Now, granted, we had a lot more footage than I do, but that should give you some idea of the workload ;)
ive edited lots of video especially using premiere
it does take a while, but if its fun u dont notice it
usually takes me like 6-10 hours for a 40 minutes video, form 5 hours of footage
but I laughed so :banana:Quote:

One question : How long do you expect the final video to be?
any word on the final video??
Working on it, among other things ;)
Mine also.Quote:

ok, matt if you need space send me a pm
ditto, can probably squeeze some space on the server if required...
Cool bring on the mirrors guys :)
Matt : - Cant wait to see the videos :)
Videos!!!
I've decided to make just one video out of the clips. I have ~35min of footage to work with, a large portion of which is the interviews with the guys. Since I don't have quality audio of them speaking, I'll just integrate bits of it into the final video, and run the output as a both high and low res DiVX as before.
DJ Jade is making me a new mix just for the video! May delay things a bit further but we'll have a top-notch production once it's all said and done :D
Hey crew -
"Part 1" of the video is done. PM me if you have ~100MB of hosting space. Also, once it's hosted I need someone to do some lower quality versions. Thanks peeps!
I don't have hosting space, but I'd be glad to do a lower quality version once I have downloaded the full version :)
I send you a PM for the webspace.
Thanks for the PM's and support guys! Here's what I've got so far:
Clip length: ~5:30 or 10017 frames @ 29.97FPS
DivX 5.2.1 encoded 720x480 @ 72MB - http://www.mattoverclocked.com/divx720.avi
WMV 9.1 encoded 320x240 (300k streaming) - http://www.mattoverclocked.com/stream.avi **BROKEN**
Once we have a few mirrors for these let me know and I'll start a new thread for the front page. Also, the final high quality version will be > 100MB and I only have 100MB of space, so I do appreciate those offering a logon for webspace. I may not need it for a while but it will come in very handy when I do.
Thanks again peeps! :toast:
Love that video .. Looks like all you guys had a lot of fun..
Well done editing there matt :toast:
the link is down ? :(
Mirror:
http://www.radeonx.com/divx720.avi
And a low bandwidth version (17MB):
http://www.radeonx.com/divx360.avi
downloading now!
Upped it to my webspace
http://www.extremecooling.net/index/download.php?view.6
Thanks cold_ice. I'll be done with the download in about 2mins.
Good job, Matt. It's released :)
Hey shadow -
Would you mind doing a news submission about the video? You can link to this thread or to the current mirrors (graciously provided by snq and cold_ice, thanks guys!)
Don't forget guys, that was just part1, only 5 minutes of footage used - lots more to come! Right now I'm busy on a "special project" :hehe:
EDIT: Nevermind, it's posted to the front page
Thanks a lot very cool! Who's the guy that split off the IHS?
anyway every time I look at this stuff i cry even harder for not being there
PC ICE is doing the rapid-fire IHS removal, it scared the sh*t out of most of us but he did at least a few of them at the event like that with no issues.
I wonder why he´s so talented with knifes  -- Thats probably the fastest IHS removel i´ve ever seen :D
was that part in the video the whole process or was it just the end of hours of work?Quote:

The video for that portion was not sped up at all, TBH I don't think he spent more than a minute or two on the CPU's. (The man's talented ;) )
yea, pc ice had several ppl come up to him later that day asking to remove the IHS for them. he did it em in under a min...
took me 5 minutes to get my willamette IHS off... its not hard once ya figure out the basics :DQuote:

finishing off the video with macci and OPP exchanging a few words is a nice touch ;)
That ain't the end by a longshot, but another "super secret special project" has taken priority, hope you guys have patience :DQuote:

Although, I would fade the music out for a bit while guys are talking and especially at the end when OPP and Macci exchange some comments and then fade it in after ;)
Very nice :toast: Thanx Matt :)
I don't think it's neccesary to host a file like that... 70MB is very good quality already ;)Quote:

Also, you're not going to hear most of the speech well regardless, without a boom mike the camera uses it's own omnidirectional mike (and I'm not even going to get into how terrible the audio is with that). Suffice it to say you're lucky to get ANY speech . . .
Yea I hear I was just meaning the ending to the first clip ;)Quote:

Macci: "I killed my FX before, torturing it with some LN2!" (**a smile upon his face**)
OPP: "Well ok then, fair enough" (**raises hand a little bit**)
Man I should be a script writer :D :p:
Actually that clip doesn't make much since without some background.
Everyone was having problems booting OCZ VX and similar memories at 200MHz (i.e. 3200). OPP was telling Macci that when he put in his BH-5, the system booted up no problems.
Expect a credits section at the end of the final video. Also, if any of the clips don't make sense, feel free to ask. They're taken out of context and used for aesthetic, not narrative, purposes.
ah that what it was...
I think my version would of sounded better ;)
I agree :D but don't forget there were plenty of FX's around, nobody needed to use a 3200 ;)Quote:

LOL, I was really j/k, the DivX version doesn't suffer noticably from compression, there's no point in hosting the original.
The intro is a bit long at 45 seconds. maybe cut it down to 10~15 seconds?
I can shorten it, but it needs to stay in sync with the music beats. Also, I have lots of footage left, 45sec intro is short for a ~25-30min video ;)
Grr is there any way to play AVIs on a mac? My computer is toast :stick:
Hmm, I'll do some .mov outputs later if you like - I don't know Mac software well but I'd bet there's an AVI player for OSX somewhere . . .
Anywho, I fixed the link to my 300K streaming WMV version of part1. Work on part 2 to commence tonight/tomorrow! ;)
wmp not work? (yes, i know he said mac.. theres a mac version too..)Quote:

ALways good to have WMP installed tho! :D
It's official, waiting on DivX encoding drives me NUTS :p:
OK gang, I had a 16-17 minute continuous take of ATI's interviews of the gang (OPP, PC ICE, FUGGER, Chilly1, Macci) which I decided to output separately of the multipart video. Hence, I intend to have:
Main vid, part1
Main vid, part2
Main vid, part3
Main vid combined
Interview vid
The interviews are done with very minimal editing, I was hoping we'd get ATI's footage of the event since the reporters there had broadcast equipment, boom mikes etc. The audio is spotty, but there's nothing that can be done about it, you CANNOT get good audio from the standard omnidirectional mike on any videocamera, you really need a boom mike - so, you'll hear a lot of background noise, chatter etc. Deal with it, it can't be helped.
Part2 is almost done, waiting on the DivX encoding of the interviews right now. Mi amigos with hosting space, I need you! :D
cant wait to see pat 2 mate :D
If ya need any help editing / compiling Im sure I can help ya...
Great work so far! :toast:
Alec
Here she comes!
750Kbps DivX (99MB): http://www.mattoverclocked.com/intviews.avi
Forgive the lower quality, I had to two-pass encode at 750kbps to get it to fit under 100MB (the limit of my webspace!). If I can get access to someone's FTP at some point and peeps want it, I can make a higher quality version.
As soon as this sucker is hosted elsewhere and my webspace is clear, more will be uploaded!
I got my own webserver mate.. I can happily give ya a free account just for these movies :D
How much space do you think you shall need?
Should be setup very shortly once I know the specs you need.
Thanks,
Alec
PS. the link dont seem to work :S
The above link? Works fine here, lemme know if you still have trouble . . .Quote:

I couldn't hear/understand much of what Fugger was saying though...

The link works fine for me.

indeed; great video!
pity bout the sound quality in some sections tho... Wish I had been there...
Thanks for the vids and keep em coming!
Alec
I was hoping to have a friend there with a boom mike, but *cough* guess he decided he had better things to do *cough* . . .Quote:

I think a subtitled version of the interview video would be nice...
Unfortunately that would take forever to do, so unless someone's willing that's not going to happen ;)Quote:

Did a cleaner render of the interviews, the audio should be clear enough to at least understand everyone. Tops out at 133MB so I'll have to wait until I have somewhere to upload the file before it'll be hosted.
Also, it'll be several days before Part3 is done, got a busy weekend ahead of me looks like . . .
I have WMP for OS X but it doesent play AVIs or DiVX...

Use the included DivX player
Gee maybe I should have looked for it :stick:

Low quality version part 2 plzz... :(
Had to up and move pretty quick so my dual Xeon rig is at present a collection of parts in a box. Once that problem is solved :lol2: you'll be seeing more than just low quality Part 2 ;)
Is there a part 3. Great work on the videos. Fun to see the leaders in action. :D
musk
Part 3 is being rendered and DivX encoded as we speak. If you've got the bandwidth, the full HQ DivX version of the video is ready!
Complete (Parts 1-3) Video, DivX Codec (720x480 1300kbps video/128kbps audio) @ 149MB:
http://atilan.host366.com/divx720.avi
Haha I like the part where you´d slow it down to slowmotion and the kings looks at eachother (the opp vs. macci shot)
Cool video - I see some very famous casemods too :)
There were certainly some nice ones at the event, thought maybe they'd been online before . . .Quote:
