Nice car cl4w and welcome to Xtreme.
Is that the touring version? I have the new 3 series and it's an awesome car
yes, ist the touring version, i need a lot of space :)
I always wanted a go cart... had two MR2's back in school including a supercharged one and a turbo. Went for something just as fun... she's 3 years old now. :)

Nissan S12 '88 (200sx usa) 1.8 turbo running 155bhp, 870kg wet weight
fully striped, installing a ca18det into it thats about 235bhp, welding dif over the next few days. installing freeflow exhaust, lowering it.
Soon as thats done its going into UKD1 Eurodrift this year. Should be a laugh.
Here's what £300 of VW Jetta looks like. Runs quite nicely and corners surprisingly well, I drive a Focus Estate TDCi all week on the motorway [which practically drives itself], so it makes a nice change getting out in the Jetta at weekends. Seeing fewer of these about recently tbh.

Driving with a welded diff is no big deal at all if you are a good driver its no problem.Quote:

Will be removing the rear subframe from this s12 and will install a rear subframe from a s13 into it. thus allowing me to use the s13 dif that will be modded as saif above. will have to remove arches and basicaly rebuild the back end of the car.
As for lowering the car cuting springs is the wrong thing to do. As this is a track car im trying to make the car as stiff as pos so will be doing alot of work and will be using some custom made springs for the car.
This car is being built to go around corners fast and sideways and thats why things are being done differently compared to street/race cars.
Also just installed front mount intercooler and a t25 turbo just to give a bit of power untill i install the new engine.
Trust me mate i know what im doing. We build alot of s13's and Skylines for Drift events.
Workshop with 4 nissan s13 200sx's a few old datsuns 1 skyline and my s12, all being made into track cars. sorry about mess the season just started so its kinda mad here.

For future reference might be worth not talking down to people unless you are sure you know more than them. lol crazy power mad admins. :D In the end of the day im sure you know alot about your American cars and i know alot about my Jap cars. nuf said.

Yeah they look pretty light... Much better than a set of "better looking" heavy weighters that's gonna slow that little car down. Any bit of weight off that bugger will make a nice improvement in get-up.Quote:

Right now I have an '04 Cadillac CTS-V. 400HP, 6-speed, 3.73 IRS, 0-60MPH ~4.8, top speed is limited to 165MPH. I have a few mods, Cold air intake, crossdrilled 14"/14.4" rotors, UUC Shifter, CAGS eliminator and a few cosmetic items. It's my daily driver
I also have two Mustangs. One is an '86 totally stripped and setup for pure drag. It weighs 2400lbs and went 12.014 with a POS ~280HP engine. It's on the back burner right now but will eventually run low, low 10's(don't want to go faster due to the $$ certifications and car requirements).
The other stang is a '90 25th anniversary GT with about 450-500 naturally aspirated HP and is setup for road race. It's still street legal and I drive it during the nice weathered weekends. I have plans of adding 8~10psi with a Procharger
D1SC/3row intercooler which should give me ~630 HP.
i have a 2003 honda civic that is falling apart much sooner than i had originally expected
To me "better looking" wheels for now on means smaller weight digit at scale :p: And I know how it helps to drop weight 3kg/wheel :)... cornering, acceleration, braking has improved a bit (yet S got ~200hp& ~250NM torque)Quote:

I need another car... Looking for three cars, and the right ones (Ala straight with little to no rust) 240z/280z for an RB26DETT swap... or a 1972 Porsche 911... turn into an ST or 1973 RSR replica with high strung 2.8L Short Stroke + efi and everything else I could spend money on. :(
2001 Acura 3.2TL - Completely stock :(. I was looking into some intake, headers, exhaust, minor upgrades. At the moment, I like the way it looks. Don't plan on upgrading anything on the outside.

Good starter car for a 16 yo, should save you a little money to get something better later...
My car is a Peugeot 206 XS 2.0 HDI
2 Liter turbocharged diesel engine. 90hp stock.
6L/100km average. Max speed on a higway is 210km/h (+- 130mph).
Funny little car. It only has two seats (business version) but it handles pretty well actually.

I love the little diesel Peugeots. I drove around Germany and Italy in one a few years back and was amazed that I could get nearly 1000km to the tank. When I came back to Australia I really wanted to get one, but apparently they don't sell the 206 in diesel here (diesel is only available on the 307 and 407).
I've never seen a 2 seater one btw. Is there a platform in the back for your business stuff, or does the boot just extend in further.
Quick paint editing to draw cargo area.

That picture just reminded me of how much I hate the spoiler on those cars...
That spoiler is a good match for that car.. as a matter of fact, that makes the car Dodge Stealth.... although I'm not crazy about it... I like the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4....
Smurfmods, look at your wheels.. they're small. Looks even smaller than the factory wheels. Why didn't you get a set of 18" magnesium wheels? :D
They don't look that small to me...
Besides bigger just slows you down.
I didn't say wider. Larger in diameter with lower profile tires!! :D it stiffens the ride a bit, too.
I can't believe you overlooked the "magnesium" ha ha... I thought the first thing you'd respond is that!! :p:
I was talking about diameter...
Wider is better, not taller.
that's why you gotta keep that tire low profile, not to exceed the diameter of the total length...
Wider is not better.. Being wide is what will slow down.. :D
some 18" wheel w/ only 7.5" deep and low skinny low profile tire(P205) won't slow you down.. it'll be just as good if not better. The benefit you'll get is stiffer and more responsive ride. :p:
Sure a wider wheel means more weight. But adding diameter is worse, as it adds more rotational weight...think of the centrifugal force. The faster that wheel spins the more that weight is worth.Quote:

There is really only one benefit to larger diameter wheels, and that's looks. I won't debate that, but everything else is a downside. You will lose acceleration, mileage, and traction ;)
Not to mention the price of tires.
That's why you gotta get lighter wheels!!!
and actually.... not only was I pointing about the weight, but being "wider" makes "more" contact on the road which slows down your car also.
Your tires are too wide and fat. you don't wanna go too wide:slapass:
You may think so, but I don't. And try telling that to people who actually race and they will tell you to get off the message boards and get some time with a real car...
my uncle used to work for ford rally( back in days of jimmy McRae) nad he explained the whole thing to me about tires.
basically soulburner and iamanoobiecheez, u r both rite.ideally u want ur tires as narrow as possible whilst still maintainiing suitable traction for the level of power. the 450bhp sierra cossies were using 16's which were 8.25inch wide.
more contact in with the ground will loose u acceleration but too little will loose u traction.the ligther the car, the more narrow tires u can get away with.
btw wats ur deffinition of "people who actually race". cos sure thingsl ike nascarr u want wide ass tires to get all that power to the ground but sometihng like WRC u want more narrow tires so that it can actually turn.
It also depends on the application. For a road race car you want a straight, stiff sidewall. For a drag race, that will only work against you. You want a fat, tall tire for more "squishyness" so to speak. A tire can't bite and twist if it's too hard on the sidewall. Often times increasing the wheel diameter, forces you to run lower profile tires and only hinders your traction.
its a gift from my mom :D so I can avoid saving money for now and spend it on computer partsQuote:

Not sure when www.Ficaraudio.com will ship the sub, hopefully I will get it by Friday, but since it's being custom made with a triple stack magnet and an advanced cooling system and every other option it takes a while.
I work 8-5 M-F, here's my tasklist...
- Tonight I'm going to round the edges of the port and outside of the box.
- Tuesday or Wendsday I'll probably make the double baffle that's going to cover the entire front of the box, I will also have to make a cutout for the port.
- Thursday I will wood glue and nail the box together.
- Friday I will sand and get most of the prep work done to paint the box.
- Saturday - Sunday I will start the procedures of painting the entire box.
I got the 18" Fi BTL in and wow is it heavy almost 70lbs just for the sub.
1.5" thick front, used a circular saw to make cutout hole for the port...

LOL, the guy in the video that drove up to me came from about 1/4 to 1/2 a mile away. He said that he was sitting at his dinner table trying eating and his window was vibrating. I tried to get the entire thing on tape, but only got the last half. At first he said what the hell is that and what are you doing. He was very impressed with teh sub and is a pretty cool guy be being resonable and not being punk....

more pictures of the toyota
Should change that to say, no visibility into OR out of, the car from any angle...
Well, as the pictures tell, you can see in and out of the windshield just fine. My friend has a 06 Civic Si with the same limo tint setup and during the day its annoying, and at night all you see are little dots for headlights.Quote:

I actually have 5% limo on the sides and back and (2) layers of Huper Optik 40% film also on the side and rear windows.
The Huper Optik film is what we used for the Mercedes dealer that I managed a tint shop for. I've got about $1400 worth of film on here. Just (1) 40% layer of Huper Optik has 70% heat rejection! and I have (2) layers of it and Limo :D
This is my first car, that I bought for myself.

04 Civic. I live in a college town, it really is so generic. One time there were 3 civics in front of me and two behind! But it's a stick shift and saves me a boatload on gas!

185/R15, custom dark blue paint (unique simply because the idiot who made the paint mixed it into a white paint bucket - but wtf, it's unique :slap: ), engine built ground-up in 2004. Had alloy rims but in .ro we have crappy roads... so crappy that they were fuxed up after only 10000km :slapass: - so I switched back to plain iron Mondeo rims.
60bhp, 4.5l to 5l @100km. Pretty neat considering that I don't use my car for racing but only for going to school and sometimes seaside/mountain :D
