Hey guys, i got the 3000 winnie and In the bios I'm running the volts @ 1.65, but cpu-z shows 1.55. I heard about winnies undervolting, but can this just be a motherboard issue reporting it wrong? Im on the K8N neo 2 on the 1.41 beta bios.
nice, what week is your chip??Quote:

well the thing is, i have the 3500 939 (.13) and it doesnt undervolt it. So I'm not sure. How can I really find out by testing or by Msi support that its undervolting?Quote:

With a NW/Claw, it will give the correct voltage when set in the BIOS, but with a Winchester it will give .1 below what you set it to.Quote:

so guys do you think it is a good bet to just stay with the 3200 winnie and hope for the best or, should i spend the extra cash to get the 3500 winnie?
....................................3500+ imo
thx trans:Dam
It's just that you get more multi options with the 3500+, Also you need to note that right now AMD has no better 90nm cpu than the 3500+....... What this means is that when AMD speed-bins the winchester cpu's, the fastest chips will be put in the 3500+ speed bin. Normally you would have the 3800+ and FX to compete with, but since they are 130nm right now, they are excluded from the speed bin, putting the best 90nm into the 3500+. I would probably wait until after January for latest stepping.Quote:

wtg trans am! congrats.
This is odd, I expected your 1m run to be lower than 31s. We have the same clockspeed, but your ram is going much faster than mine, but we both have 31s in superpi. Is this 2T?Quote:

does anyone know any good probes to check the cpu tampand stuff on the net that i can download my asus probe is just crap and needs updateing

actually i read it...:( and many guys had problems with 1.51 so i dont what to flash it. wehen i drop multi i can reach 8*320 easily (prime stable!!) why?
It has to be 2T.. 7884 MB/s @ 300FSB & 2.7GHz... if 1T, it should be more like 83xx or so, right?Quote:

i made 30sec in super pi wit 333ht and ram at 266 at cas2 2-2-2-5-7-16 and cpu speed at 2660 the bandwich eficency in sandra is 89% this is so {as i figgered out} because the ram is too fast for the prosesor at that speed to have bandwich at about 96% the cpu have to be at least 200mhz more i mean if i ran the ram at 266mhz the cpu should be about 2900-3000mhz for the bandwich to be 96%
that`s why if you can`t clock your processor more than 2700 you don`t need ram faster than 240-245 mhz cause the cpu doesnot take advantage of the faster ram you can check it with super pi or what ever you have.
that `s why i experienced the low bandwich at dual channel at high ram speeds and high bandwich at the same speed but in single channel
when i lowered the ram speed at the same cpu speed the bandwich eficency grew and reached it`s 97%
so guys you don`t need the ram to be that fast when you are in dual channel if you don`t have the processor for it :) :toast:
I don't have 2x256, but I think my 2x512 el4200 platinum can do that. I'll try tonight and see what I get.Quote:

How did you manage to fit a socket 754 CPU onto a 939 motherboard? I'm assuming you've got an MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum, as this is a Winchester thread.Quote:

yes please do, and I am on your side as I have same memory and CPU, so I hope those results are for real, although the ram at 313 does seem pretty questionable.Quote:

ok i set it to 10 but no change :( and @ HTT 293 with 3-3-3-10 i cant even boot^^ with 2-3-3-10 i can but then bluescreen and reboot. i am running my system on a 350 watt noname PSU (my antec 480 truepower doesn't work with the MSI neo2 somehow, i read somewhere that there are more problems with the antec PSU's and msi neo2), that's why im not using my x800xt atm, but i don't think my PSU is the problem
btw i got it Pifast stable @ 2690 mhz 133mhz mem (also 1.63vcore), it does that @ 46.14 seconds, more vcore doesn't help here either :(
if anybody has any tips or ideas, plz post 'em :P
i'll post my cpu-z printscreen, and my stepping in a few minutes :)
Does your vcore stay at a constant 1.63 or does it vary? Mine seems to fluctuate constantly.Quote:

Hi,
i can get a Winni 3200+ with stepping 0441 VPMW
Does anybody got some infos about that stepping ??
thx & greeetz

btw, i said i did the 2825 mhz @ 100 mhz divider, but now i took one of the 2 dimms out, because i read the mobo didn't really like 2 x 512, and liked 2 x 256 more :)
and now i can even boot it @ 2825 with 133mhz divider ;)
but i still can't overclock past it :@ also tried @ 100 mhz divider...
would another mainboard help me out here? or is my cooling maybe stopping me now...?
tomorrow i'll borrow my friend's 2 x 256 pc3200 and try to get a beter pifast and better overclock, pifast might be better, but i don't think the overclock will improve...
still hoping on tips :P

An XP-90 arrived yesterday, but I'm too sick to mess with it right now. By the way, what is the suggested VDIMM for this GSkill? Right now, I have it at 2.85.
I'm curious about .5 multis. Go or no go. If no go, please explain.
.5 multi is fine, but all it does is adjust your fsb to make it seem like your using a .5 multi. I dont think there is any performance hit, but if ur a 304now and ur memory cant take it then it wont be stable. That is unless ur already using a memory divider
No divider. Will probably drop down the HTT, though a little bit.
Wishing my Prometeia wasn't broken; waiting on parts... :(
Ya what is your HTT divider?

pfff i borrowed a friend his 2 x 256 mb noname cl3 :S what a drama, can't even get my system bus on 270 with 100mhz divider somehow... :S i'll do superpi tomorrow, if i'll have my ram back then ;)
Here's early days....but it seems I'm hitting a wall at 270HTT with tight timings..... clock too low with the 250fsb, and 270HTT too low to get better than 35sec 1M SuperPI. Gonna have to get a 3200 for the 10 multi.....

OK, thanks for that estimate. I'm thinking about the same, and that it's not going to be good enough for this chip. It likes temps under 50. I think I'll put my watercooling on it as soon as I get the right block.....my maze 3 doesn't fit.....Quote:
