Timmings are the stock 3-4-4-8-1t.
Iv tried 250mhz and it still gives me problems. Even tho memtest86 is fine. Same with prime95
My pc3200 512mb samsung stick does the same thing. It has to be the motherboard
EDIT: it cant possibly be my memory. I just ran 260x10 the memory was @ 100 so 130mhz and still failed prime95 after 16 minutes like it usually does.
I really do feal like taking my board and breaking it and setting it on fire. Cuss im pissed off.
i have a shuttle an50r but i can't get it to work :(
so basically i'll have an idle a64 system until i can get that dfi board... sigh
yeah, i get same blue screen even when running 240 mhz with the 166 divider putting my ram at 200 mhz and i get all different sorts of BSOD errors, one being the IRQ driver error...
anyway... stupid epox board...
i got these messages all too:
pnf list corrupted - u put the ram in different slots put it in that one which worked first and it ll do again...
irq less or... - is a driver problem any of ur driver couldnt get stable @ the htt or that speed maybe u didnt set agp 67 ?
but irq nor less than equal is driver problem
in ur case its one in system/32 so i think it s your video dirver try setting the agp to 67 - 69 mhz
htt on this board is rockstable @ 275 x 4 so.... neednt to change...

Bigtoe said it will be around the same price as the Lan Party nForce2 board. $120 - $130. I wish they would make a stripped down version like with the 8KDA3J. I just don't need all of the extra crap.Quote:

I'm using BIOS 5/5/04
Thanks
@ gamer512
maybe this is a virus because which important data should be in the temp file?
or what is this file for app....
and @ candyman
NO i definetly dont mean change driver s (u could try) but i wanted to say that maybe u should set the agp fix on 68 or 69 becuse if the message is irq nor less than... then its a driver problem and in ur case this was also caused by the system32/ati driver (vga driver)
i wanted to say maybe agp lock didnt work well because of ur settings?! (normally it is 67 or 66 i think....)
so check out playing some with this ? :D

Yeah I tried deleting the files but it still occurs. Also mostly when I play OpenGL games does this happen the most.Quote:

Gamer512, how are u able to get past 2500mhz. It seems anything i do my comp is stuck @ 2500mhz using stock voltage 1.55v 2 mhz higher and it failes prime95 even with 1.85v
Temps are 31 idle and 43 load.
Also ANDL64, if its a driver problem how am i ganan fix it. I treid the 67-68-69 agp mhz still no go i tried diff ati drivers no go.... Sniff this sucks
its running fine at 2.1 ghz but anything higher than 2.3 and i can't do anything...
so i'm returning my other one and will have to either patiently wait for the dfi board or get the chaintech one as a temp.. :)
Well on stock cooling and stock volts my CG 3000+ does 2.52 prime stable 33c idle 45c full load and even if I gave it 1.7v on stock cooling it only gave me 2.55GHz. It was a heat issue. When I got the temps down to 20c load with 1.9v it can do 2.8-2.82 prime stable. So you just need better cooling.Quote:

I thought that too but with everything stock I don't get any errors. I narrowed it down to some kind of issue with my ram it seems. I might try another bios but I'm not sure if that would help.Quote:

I think I solved my problem also I set my AGP to 70MHz and put my memory in the 1 & 2 slot insted of 1&3 like I had it before. It seems to be running fine 2.8GHz 233MHz 2-2-2-5 T1 kind of weird
1 closest to the CPU, let me know if 75 MHz helps more?Quote:

? The one closer to the cpu or the middle one or the one closer to the vdimm mod.
Also im not using stock cooling im using water so it isnt a heat issue
Edit: I tried that 70mhz for the agp. Wow now my cpu failes prime95 after 23 minutes insteado f 16 all the time. Thats a start, Im ganna try 75mhz now
Well, I installed the 3700EB and there was no improvement except I can run 10 x 240 with tighter timings than with my A-DATA PC4200. I think my chip's crapping out rather than the board. I may take of the IHS to see if I can squeak out some more performance.
... well the motherboard doesn't have a memory controller right. ;)

Indeed. I think because I'm at my chip's limit it's not tolerating a higher HTT. I can run 300+ in Clockgen if I drop my multiplier and chip speed.Quote:

no updates about this mobo??
Yeah, it's being sold as soon as the DFI is available.
i tried running the agp at 75 mhz and it seems to have fixed a lot of my stability problems... :)
I finally just got my replacement from newegg.com.
I cant wait to finally try out the OCZ 3700EB ram since the board took a crap basicly right away when i tried before heh.
hi guys!
i got i problem my magic bios tool didnt work correctly so i cant load the latest bios version...
can someone uf ya folks give me a link to the latest or plz. mail it to: nazir@networld.at

so.... nobody who clould help me?
well i got the 07-09 bios now but i got the core bug and its no matter what vdimm i set because it does everytime 2,67 Volt    :banana:ty crap i got bh-6 now and i cant get higher!!! i nedd vmod or ddr booster!
i removed my IHS too but i got a bad paste and so first i got worse temps than with lol so i did much more on the core and i got now on load in games like doom3 49-50 degrees...
but i only got 2 single fully-cu raddis and cape kc-42....
my cpu did before 2250 max stable and it does it now...
everytime i get over 2250 it becomes instable and end s with bluescreen...if i set vcore to 1,8 under load its the same!
i ll sell my amd64 3200+ 1024kB c0 stepping and get a pretested cpu!

where could i get a pretested CPU... my chip sux 2 much. somewhere that would ship to all of europe preferably

I've never heard of a site to buy pre oc'd cpu's. Your best bet would be to buy them from a forum and find out how high they oc.

i tried 6 different bioses from 14.5 to 16.7 and everytime now i got this vdimm voltage prob....
i ll get rid of it (maybe say so?!) so i ll go for the dfi board soOn well then i ll have to test some moa my chips....

PS: sry 4 my english m8s :D
And i can only get 1.7vcore with the modded bios, i need more lol
the modded bios didnt work for me until i did a complete CLEAR CMOS with the jumper. after flashing it:
-power off the psu
-change jumper
-wait 2 minutes
-put jumper in place and turn on
until i did all of this, i had vcore, vdimm and htt problems... now im clean
hope this helps

Well i got my new board and have been testing it out with some OCZ 3700EB 2x512 and this sucks!
I cant get the board stable with a FSB higher then 260x8 or 9 multi. Using cas 3,3,8,3 timings with a vdimm of 3.1v. I've even tried using 3,4,8,4 just to see for kicks and nope.
The highest HTT i can get is the same i could before with some corsair BH-5 at 308 somewhat stable.. 3d benchable and looked prime stable but it will reset outa nowhere. 310 wants to run but i'll get a blue screen durring 3dmark..
I've been using only the 5/14 bios since they were my fav last time..
No i believe my CPU 3400+ C0 is holding me back since it cant do 2500MHz on this board like it could on the old 150 chaintech with 1.7v.. But i was really hoping for like 270+ x9 with this ram.. Has anyone got over 267FSB?
yea i can go 285*9, 1*1 ratio and 4*HT prime stable. But i get a better score using 265*10.
i have a similar problem. my cpu would run prime stable @ 2400mhz on a MSI k8n neo plat. in this board can get only to 2300mhz. i guess this board does not like c0 chips much...Quote:

Same for me here. With the 8x or 9x multi the board runs like crap. Can't get my mem or HTT as high as with the 10x multi. Looks like a board issue, since the LDT multi doesn't matter at all.Quote:

I can get over 270 easy with the 10x, 280 is no problem, but I'm running 270 x 10 24/7 to save my sys a little ;) (One too many hardware blowouts in the past)
This is with 3.0 Vdimm btw and 2 x 256 MB instead of 2 x 512. How's the 2T timing working for you with the 2 x 512 ??
since my cpu is c0, cant use 2T
heh i cant use the 2T either since mine is a C0 revision as well :(
i think that c0 revision work very bad on this board... as for the ram, ill mod my board tomorrow to 3.3v vdimm so i can use my 2x512 BH5 with good htt
Jeff, they are password protected again.
Damn... didn't do anything this time. I'll look into it in a little while... sorry 'bout that.
Can anyone else confirm that they are being asked for a password? I just looked and they aren't restricted in any way on the server. I also connected to my server via a proxy and was able to download them.
Just want to be sure it's a problem on my end before I look into any further.
TIA. :toast:
jeff,
i could download them just fine.
hmm, my CO overclocks by 411mhz over the stock speed on air cooling... nothing wrong with the board and CO IMO.

Ok, good then.
If it happens again... I'll try moving them to a different server to see if that helps.
I'm not seeing the 5-14 bios? I see a 5-12...
The 5-14 bios can be had at the USA epox web site.
no 5/14 bios...
heh i guess someone at epox dont want people to use the best bios.
Found it at the German web site.. Heres the addy.. top of page.

hi its me again
does anybody know if an amd64 mobile works on the epox KDA3+/J
if not do they work in the new dfi infinity board?
thx 4 ya help
seEn andL
andL64: no mobile support yet as far as I know.
Is the kda34514-bios considered to be the best OC-BIOS right now?
Edit: And one more thing. My 8KDA3J is on RMA right now, should I ask them to replace it with a 8KDA3+ instead? Of course I'll have to pay them some extra. The reason I was wondering is because I'll probably get a S-ata disk soon and I thought that using the J-versions sataports would decrease my FSB-clocking potential as the J-version only has the sata ports integrated on the chipset. And does the heatsinks for the mosfets actually help?
Or am I wrong?
heh wait for the DFI.. THis is my second epox 8KDA3+ and it sucks..
How much does it suck? Max stable HTT?
Also, I live in Sweden and if I'm lucky the DFI will arrive within 3 months. Some of the companies which imported DFI to Sweden has also stopped that because the RMA-percentage was extremely high with DFI's nForce2 board.
The weird thing about this board, is that any HTT above 201 is unstable. I can get mine to 330, and the PCI lock is working, and it will run prime95, and memtest all day, but 3d applications either crash to the desktop, or cause BSODs.Quote:

Hey, look at my sign. You must have been unlucky with your board. Figures in my sign are primestable.
Edit: Maybe because you have clawhammer?
i can run my clawhammer C0 stepping 3200+
224x10
245x9
275x8
this is all no problem wit HTx4 so the board isnt so bad... i think
but my cpu only does 2250mhz max then i ll get bluescreens i got a 350W chieftec psu and an oc ed radeon 9800 pro but i got the cpu since nov 2003 and in 2 diffrent boards it only did 2250 max....
i can set as well 1,7 and more.... but also bluescreen
the board is ok i think i could get over 300 if i ll get a better cpu and the only real bad thing is no multi under 8x now!
thats crap...
as well i need more vdimm 2,76 - 2,78 isnt enough my bh-6 chips ran quiete good @ this on 220-224 cl2-2-2-5 or littl higher in win its stable for benches too but when i start doom3 no chance....
seEn andL
it appears that the reason for my instability is because this motherboard causes hard drive corruption.
edit: at stock speed, the lock works just fine.
I must have gotten 300% lucky since the three 8KDA3+/J boards I've used have given me ZERO problems.
After reading through 12 pages of people bitching(even though this was supposed to be a thread about the BIOS)... I keep asking myself if I'm actually using the same board as 80% of the posters in this thread.
I don't have any problems either. :comp10:
ya guys must not be trying to push that board enough.. heh. Jeff.. i thougth you killed a CPU on the J board?
I love this board, but its completley ruined windows installs on two different hard drives, one SATA, and one PATA.
Jeff, what BIOS are you using, and what program can I flash to them with?
Nope... the OCZ DDR Booster fried the Vddr regulator. It was strange because Vmod wise I could get to 3.5v without any problem but with the OCZ thing the regulator sizzled at 3.2v. :shrug:Quote:

Right now you're right btw... I'm not really pushing because I'm just on water... 2.63GHz isn't bad though. ;)
@boshi... how are you overclocking? Are you using ClockGen? If so, what are you booting into windows at? If you boot at 200MHz then the lock supposedly doesn't work.
I've run 285x10 1:1 24/7 on one of these boards without any incidents.
Hi guys, I am new here in this forum, but I was reading this thread for a long time. My problem is this:
I did get the KDA3J mobo on friday, but that son of a      doesn´t want to go more than default freq aka 2GHz only thing I was able to do is to get FSB250x8 but nothing more even with 1.65VCore set in BIOS. I wasn´t looking for the real VCore behaviour (so I will do it today after reinstalling WinXP pro), but what really looked strange was (set in BIOS 1.65V chipset) 1.61!! real for chipset??? What the f***??? Maybe I have one of those "good undervolting BIOS" (which I´ll change today), but I really don´t know why the hell I cannot overclock even about 50Mhz. The system was running at 2300MHz 1.65V BIOS set, Doom3 stable for 1,5 hour but Prime went down.
Maybe its power supply, that god damn Fortron has really weak 12V rail, just 16A which is a crap for nForce based mobos.
yeah I'm booting at 201, and using clockgen.Quote:

I had a 3200 nc running 255htt with a 300w forton psu, so that probably isn't the problem.Quote:

I'm running 260HTT primestable at my 3200NC with a Antec 300W.
anyone else get pagefault in nonpaged area error?
I havn't are you running 2x512 and which slot's?
My first board both the 2nd and 3rd slots were the ones to use.. With the newer board it seems that only the 2nd slot wants to run high... Well only in memtest86.. I can get 170-172 FSB x 8 but it wont boot into windows.. Only 160 is stable in windows..
Also the highest stable HTT is 305 just like my old board..
yes man i got this error

this was caused by my memory.... i think but check this out :

ppl i need help in this:
i have 2x512 mushkin level2 BH5 and i had them on my nf2 board @ 250fsb 1:1 prime stable @ 3.3v vdimm.
now i modded the epox to have the same voltage in vdimm. it reads 3.35v actually on the health monitor. i dont know why, but i cant get past 230fsb 1:1... in fact, this 230 arent even stable! tried everything i can think of.
so, can anyone tell what can be causing this? its single channel and a64, it should give a good result
cheers and thanks in advance
superman: Is a C0-stepped CPU? If it is, that's the problem.
errrr yup, mine is a c0! are you certain that this is the problem? if i get a CG chip, can i use the memory at higher htt 1:1 and cmd 1T?
Certain is a strong word dude :)
But if I put it like this; I've both owned a 3200 C0 and a CG. My C0 was primestable at like 225x10 max at air, and my CG is primestable @ the speeds in sign.
I didn't try 256 Mb mems on the C0 though, but I've heard a lot of people having problems clocking the C0 with 2x512 Mb mems.
i guess ill try a cg cpu on my rig to prove that theory....
btw is there anyone with the same problem?
Maybe you could borrow a CG from someone to try it out.
Actually, I think the real deal here is that the CG:s memcontroller likes doublesided mems better than the C0 does. If I'm wrong here, please go ahead and tell me.
However, if that's the case, that would affect the HTT, assuming you're trying to run 1:1.
Also, the C0:s are 1T by default, which, again, could cause problems with doublesided mems.
Hope this helps.
about the 1T command, i dont think thats the problem, because numerous people have BH5 doublesided mems on 1T command.
but i have to agree with you when u say the c0 mem controller is n0t a great fan of doublesided memory... i have a spare bh6 kit of 2x256, maybe ill try them later here.
I think you should.Quote:

I've had 2x512 of corsiar 3200 BH-5 run fine at 240FSB lowest timing on my C0 3400+ in this epox board.
I can also get 2x512 of OZC 3700EB to run 245+ with the same CPU no prob.
This is on an early 3400+ as well.
I also had the same OCZ ram run 2x512MB at 225FSB on the Chaintech 150 board as well.. I couldnt try higher cause for some reason i couldnt change the Mult with clockgen using the OCZ ram like i could using the BH-5 ram.
So i dont know if the CPU is your prob or just the DIMM slots your trying or what.. Best i could say is test it all out with one stick at a time in each DIMM slot with memtest86. That way you can see if one stick is holding ya back or the dimm slot or what not.
i dont think its from the sticks because i had them run dual channel 250 1:1 2-2-2-11 no nforce2 boards no problem.... also, the 3400+ c0 is different from a miserable c0 3000+... i guess the problem is in the cpu or in the slots im using... im using slots 1 and 3... when i tried slots 2 and 3, didnt boot... tried only slot 3, same result as slot 1 and 3 together!
