@zerosanity download This Image and it should work!
Thankyou SO MUCH! even if it dosen't work you are my hero ;)
[edit]
Ok dont call me n00b, how do i get this thing to work on a cdrom with the flash??
My floppy drive died years ago..
OK i told nero to use the boot image and it worked (booted up on startup).. but im still getting the same problem! i think it's a problem with dos4gw.exe but could be totally wrong, i'm guessing everryone who managed the flash used a floppy?
ohh forgot something!
Take this command:
GVF11.EXE -P R80x256V.F1
This worked for me, and all 16 pipes are working! :toast:
Greetz
so you told nero to use the same image that i downloaded and put all of the gigabyte files on the cd.
And when you booted up you used that command....
Ok ill try it ;)
it didn't work :( i get the same error!
did you put the gigabyte files inside the image? or put them on the disk with nero?
anyone know where to find other xt bios's. I have 2 of them right now and they both show different clocks. the one Im running right defaults to 523/573 or something like that. I have no problems at those speeds im just wondering if there are any more. Like the GeCube x800xt bios or saphire!
Does this not work ?
DrDos boot disk creator: http://paddy007uk.freeservers.com/VGAbios/drdflash.exe
FlashROM 2.37 + floppy creator: http://paddy007uk.freeservers.com/VG...Floppy2.37.exe
Gigabyte Flash utility & X800 XT BIOS: http://paddy007uk.freeservers.com/VG...lashx800xt.rar
Retail ATI X800 XT BIOS: http://paddy007uk.freeservers.com/VGAbios/X800XT.bin
No because i don't have a floppy drive anymore lol, i think this is the problem!
If someone would make me an .iso, .bin or anything simmilar in a program like WinISO I would be verry greatful:stick:
The card is doing 550/600 without artifacts, can't wait untill i get those extra pipes unlocked.
@Shroomalistic
There's a sapphire xt bios in here i think http://www.littlebeigebox.co.uk/x800/bios_files.zip
Thanks man, Is there anyway to actually identify who's bios's they are.
This one here defaults to 526/573
I got a replacement for my faulty GeCube Vivo I mentioned earlier. The same card, just from another dealer.
With Gigabyte bios, it's currently running 560/580 core/mem with no mods :)
Anyway to get a bios with lower defult clocks? with the XT PE bios (non gigabyte) my card is sometimes locking up in windows before ati tool can load and lower the clocks...
My Powercolor X800 Pro Vivo worked perfectly. I do not know the default vgpu but i got to 540mhz with stock. It works fine :0. Thx to who figured this mod out, and this thread.
I've got the powercolour vivo, and I can't run it at the XT speeds, anymore thatn 500 core and I can only play farcry for about 30 minutes before the gpu recover thing comes on and resets the card??? are there any suggestions I can do to get the higher clocks, or should I just get a thirdparty cooler for my card
Cheers
Increase the GPU Voltage to 1.4, that should be enough for you to reach 520-530Mhz.
Does the XT have higher Vdimm than the Pro?
From what I know the gpu voltage is already 1.4 volts, I did the pencil mod and then put the multimeter on the point, and it read 1.4007, think my problem is temperature, the card idles at about 36C and under load at the XT speeds runs at about 76 - 80C
Cheers
your idle temps better than mine but your load temps are kinda high. i put as5 under the stock hsf and upped my vgpu from 1.32 to 1.42 and im idle'n around 39~40c and hitt'n 73~74c load. And i just turn off vpu recovery. it has given me nothing but trouble since they put it in.
So maybe better idea would be to flash card with original x800pro bios, and eventually raise clk with atitool, as so far i`ve observed (in my case), xt bios gives me nothing but higher clocks (i`m able anyway to run my card @500/560, regardless of which bios do i have installed, card hits the same temp and score in 3dmark as well).Quote:

Well i finally got around to pulling my heatsink off my x800pro

Pulled the sticker off while i was at it, x800xt design underneath it. the mem is cg-16 too.
Congrats, CodeRed. Just saw your 3DMark01 score. 33,559. :toast:

Thanks, just starting really.
This is my first ATI card so I have to learn how to tune this beast.
BTW the 16 pipe mod worked :)
only prob is now the core will only go to 550 (with 12 pipes it did 563). But volt mods and some better cooling to come :D
What clocks are you guys getting on stock voltage and stuff? Stock cooling? I was also wondering about the fan speed thing. I also noticed mine never speeds up or anything.. if it does it is only minor. It is spinning fast during boot up for about 10 seconds. Does anyone know a way to keep it spinning this fast with a bios file or something? I know that i could solder 12v to the fan if i really wanted to, but I am installing my watercooling sometime this week so it would only be temporary.
Maybe not any benefit from this, but I took some pics of the bridge area of my Sapphire x800 pro vivo. Enjoy. :)

YES, is spins that slow! As far as I have discovered, graphic card increases a voltage realted to this fan above 70deg.of c at 1,3v, than above 75 C another 1,3v (roughly), and than above 80...
seems like this step is set up to 5 degrees, bu i was wondering as well, how high would have the temp be to force card to give full 12v? (by default below 71 it is 5-5,1 v)
greets
does anyone have the x800pro bios for a powercolor card? I was stupid and forgot to backup the bios of my pro card when i flashed it to an xt. now i want to change it back to a pro.
it's the vivo version.
I just want to run it at full 12v. Oh well, Watercooling will be installed sometime later this week(I am getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow) =/. When I feel better is when I will put all of it together.. I hope it is soon. :0, I just think it'd be nice to run the fan 12v in the meantime.
I intend to get HIS Excalibur X800Pro IceQ II VIVO Edition, mainly for its extra cooling features..... ANYONE tried this mod for this card successfully??
@bitterswt: Yes it works. I've the same card.
thanks Svendosity, u just made my day ... i:toast: u. by the way, how's the overclock for this card? is it stable at the default ati xt bios?Quote:

Mine is stable at the XT Bios but its already maxed out. My GPU Clock wont do over 520Mhz with stock voltage, with 1.4V Im able to reach 542Mhz. But another His I saw only reached 505Mhz@1.4V @16pipes, so it vary a lot.
Hmmm..... this is weird..... i thought with all these heat issues after conversion, the ICEQ cooler would help:confused:Quote:

Can any1 out there with the HIS VIVO please post their experiences??
My x800 pro Club3D vivo has 16 pipes after bios mod but with the original bios I am not able to go over 500 MHz on gpu (memories go up to 585 MHz). With gigabyte bios is even worse.
What bios do you suggest to use to gain some more gpu MHz?
Do someone know the quality of thermal paste used in this card? I have a real high temp at 500 MHz: 79° C during atitool 3D test.
Bye,
Mao
Getting real high temps on my powercolor x800pro vivo@ xt as well.. getting close to 80C after 5 mins of "scan for artifacts" in atitool. The card is running an xt bios with 526/573 clocks as default. Wish the darn fan would spin up a little.. its nice and quiet.. but doesnt really cool enough.
Anyone have a 520/560 XT bios btw? Might lower temps a littlebit. Is it possible to check voltage on the gpu through software?
Hello .
I have a question , i want to ask if anyone had tryed to do the mod im a Ge Cube x800 pro vivo .
Because i´ma afraid to buy one and no to get the mod .
Please answer .
cumps for all
Sorry my english
Yeap, Ive done it on a Gecube card. It works !!!!!Quote:

Thankx guys .
Tomorrow i´m getting my x800 pro :D
I cant get those speeds.Quote:

You have to play with it. If memory's too high you'll get arties and if GPU core is too high it will freeze.
only with v-mods 1.4 > 1.55 and mem 2.02 > 2.08 MAx 560-577  I ave got A cpu cooler on GPU mem passife cooled.
Powercoler X800 ViVo @ XT PE bios.
Can u guy's give me some links 2 other bios files that u use to clock high speeds ? i would like to get 600 mem or so.
OMG :| what bios are you using ?Quote:

I would love 2 test that one i'm getting 560 core max with v-mods :'(
I can't get high mhz on the gpu either. About 520 MHz with watercooling. Btw load temps dropped 30 C going from air to wc.
But mem are nice. They do about 590-595 MHz without artifacts. Think some extra cooling would be nice, because they are hot as hell.
can't get that mem that high :( 577 maxed out with mods.Quote:

That's weird. Your mem are Samsung 1.6ns, right? Maybe it's just luck of the draw then. My card is still without any vmods.
U still @ original bios ?Quote:

If not can u post a link to ur bios ? then i'm gonna try that one.
Yes, for now I have the original back. Tried two different XT bioses, but couldn't see any different in oc.Quote:

Done guys.
Thank you all for the support :D

I'm having all sorts of problems validating all the pipes are really enabled.
ATI tool shows different results after each flash and no program can't even read the clocks.
ATI tool has showed 8 pipes and now show 1 pipe after the last flash. I still get 12K 3dmarks on a terrible Win XP install and 11X204 with a Barton so it can't be that bad. I have a Powercolor VIVO, flashed with the gigabyte's, then with the Ati XT bios, and now finally to the Gecube VIVO (I'm just trying to get the ATI tool to work, that's why i tried a different manufacturer bios)
Could anybody that have the original Powercolor VIVO bios PM me? Flash it with the Gigabyte tool to get the complete flash back to 12 Pipes and original clocks right?
Finally got my Connect3d x800 Pro Vivo working with 16 Pipes and did the pencil mod. On 1.5V I can run 580/580

This is for the guys who have connected the cooling fan successfully to an external 12volt source, could you tell me which wires you used for what?
I had hoped that the red would be 12V in, the black would be ground and the speed sensor would be white. But what nags me is that the black and the red seem the wrong way around for a conventional fan riser. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't like seeing the core get so hot and I'd prefer it if the fan would go faster. It always spins up to full speed then slows down on start up.
Does anyone have a BIOS editor for X800 based cards?
If so, please post a link or send it to yaphea at gmx dot net. Thank you!
Original X800 Pro w/ VIVO bios thanks to Cactus Jack
For those of you who didnt back-up there original bios like me.:)
It seems from what I have gathered skimming over these post that the Gecubes are clocking really nicely, PwrClr is meadiocore, and that the Saphires are not all that great clockers? If I am wrong please let me know as Im going to purchase really soon!
Would you take the powercolor over a saphire vivo?

GazC.

Well someone does, and they sent me the bios. Are you sure its not you? Nevermind, it is you.:toast:

Btw, I sent you a PM at Amdmb, but for the benefit of everyone, did you see an overclocking improvement by going back to the Pro bios? I'm still using the Ati XT-PE bios right now.
PC ICE, Which card is it?
Another question - I wanna get GigaByte's X800P VIVO, is it moddable to XT? how it clocks? Thanks for the answers. :)
btw is there a utility to backup the original bios file ?
atitool will back-up your original bios. Under settings, misc, there is an option to dump bios. That will give you a back-up of whatever bios your on.
Hey all just got it a blue pcb Sapphire vivo for a customer build. I checked it out with atitool and stock it came 16 piplines but with pro clocks. :D
ive got a spahhire x800pro vivo too w/ blue pcb and just 12 pipes... so I flashed the gigabyte bios; now its showing X800XT PLATINUM EDITION but ATiTool is still showing 12 pipes... :x and directly after I flashed it (not knowing it still had 12 pipes), I tried flashrom w/ the x800provivo bios... but its just giving me this "help" screen with all the commands no matter what I typ..
help?
NEVERMIND now 5 mins later it shows 16 active pipelines :D Ole!!
If I get a Sapphire x800 pro vivo as of 8/6/04, what are my chances that it will work? A lot less than a month ago? Two?
I dunno, but it's worth the try... the card is darn fast anyway: I got 10k with 3dm03pro right after I installed it, everything stock. Now Im getting around 12k :) I ordered the 3200xlpro memory so when I finally can get rid of this 333 sh*t, Ill get even higher, especially 3dm01.
cheers,
lol have u got ur 333 to run at 400? and if so, what timings.
no its running 333mhz so it isnt even sync.. I put them on autotimings 2.5-3-3-7.. I dont really care tho.. new ram will arrive anytime now..
As of right now, it looks like the Gigabyte x800Pros w/ViVo are turning out to have the highest success rate. It also seems to me after reading through several threads that a lot of the Gigabyte x800Pro cards arrive with 16 pipes enabled out of the box.
I was just reading all this, MY HEAD HURTS!!!
OK as far as I know. VIVO cards can be modded. the reason that card is unstable is that a diode IS locking out the voltages that are needed.
Some people say hard mod is not needed (which its not if your limiting the speeds) Guess no one wants that! :) so two mods are required.
1> Bios
2> Pins in upper right side (left side contact)
3> voltage modulator.
well make it 3 then..
The voltage modulator isnt so clear on the images i have seen, so it a "AYOR"
try looking here http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/...800-3.html#p10 sorry about the mid dump I just kept that page for reference.
I just got the connected 3D card, It seams clear now when reading the GPU's numbers. the re are 410, 410,410,413 chips that seam to be clockable. I have a 424, so we will see if that ring true there is no laser cut on this card. Card failed to open the 16 pipe but shows as a X800 XT PE, the clock speeds are set as such, but I cannot unlock the 4 pipe,
I could see if there was a laser cut, but it didnt look like it. unless its hidden?? anyone!
