btw does the BH-75 clock good to? ive seen a DDR266 stick with those ICs
I once had a stick with these chips, but it didn't even hit 200 MHz. Although I have to say, that at that time, I didn't test with a higher vdimm than 3,0V. But 3V and no 200 Mhz doesn't sound too good.
Even though I'd say: If you can get it for cheep, then get it and test it yourself. Perhaps you are lucky and it's good. ;)
okey.. maby ill buy it for a cheep sum.
i have some BH-5 sets but i've only removed heatspreaders off the 2x256MB PC3200 Kingston HyperX kit...
so far i've had it up to 263Mhz @ 3.55v benchable on DFI NF2 Infinity. i can't remember how well they did with Goldmemory and Memtest86+, though.
stick #1 is "316we" but Everest and CPU-z say "week19/2003"
stick #2 is "326wf" but again soft shows "week27/2003"
see for yourself, buddy...
I was reading this stiky and i want to share with you my test with one off my sticks of Ocz Pc3500 limited Edition Bh5
http://ricardosimoes.no.sapo.pt/290_sandra_2225.jpg
I didn´t have the time to test both sticks but after the test tomorrow i will test them .
Cumps
darn 291 :D mhz :banana::banana::banana::banana:e wat voltage?
@ 3.7 volts with the vio and Ocz 520 W
cumps
I managedd 260FSB w ith one stik of 512 3500 Corsair C2 3,3V but not really stable, perfectly stable at 250 2-2-2-2-11 2×256 3,1V
Have you tried with higher VDimm jokker?Quote:

Expect new things :D
KHX PC3000 2*512 chips. I managed to get a heatspreader off and this is what the chips said;
Kingston
V57154
0304 P01
D328DW-45
What does this mean?
means you have BH-5 relabelled 0304 which is good....past 0318 it's prolly CH-5
esdee, would be nice if you could remove the heatspreaders, if you dont want to no big deal :)
ElixXx, i think not all 19 chips are ch5, i guess those are still bh5... dont think they would mix bh5 with ch5...
Rabbi_NZ, that doesnt sound like bh5...
rapra, thx :toast: but whats the max stable? 260?
ElixXx, bh-75? never heard of that... ive seen ah5 and ah6 wich was the oldest winbodn memory i saw. ah6 was very weird ram that barely hit 200mhz with 2.5-3-3 and ah-5 was on a very old videocard and clocked to 180mhz on the videocard LOL :D
bachus_anonym, thx michal! :toast: will add it both with chip setting and week date then :)
|-jokker-|, what steppings? please post more details and the chip steppings and the spd eeprom programming week date :toast:
hey jesus, lol, welcome to XtremeSystems :toast: :D i guess we are truly blessed ^^
could you post the chip stepping and the spd eepron week stepping please? and mobo details :D
[-Stash-], its bh5... too bad kingston relabeled the chips :/
anyways, can you post the spd eeprom date you can read out with aida32 or another tool like that? and please post your oc results and mobo details, thx :toast:
saaya i want to, but they are SO glued !!!Quote:

first stick, bought December 2002:
Winbond
2372D

second stick, bought May 2003:
Winbond
311WE
W942508BH-5
both pcb's say:
CORSAIR
50-00107 Rev A1
I'll need to increase my 3.3v rail or get a booster to see how far they'll go with a decent amount of juice. :)
edit: just read the whole thread, here are some more details:
the above fsb was what I arrived at when trying to find my max 3DM2k1 speed, so 267fsb is stable for 2k1/SuperPi/Memtest (about half an hour), using 1 stick. I've never tried Prime before (looked too fiddley, I'm more of a "open program - click a button" type person). :)
Unsure what both sticks will do together as my chipset or mem controller doesn't seem to like over 255 (I run both sticks at 250, 2-2-2-5 for games etc).
This thread has inspired me to get a Booster this week, so I'll see what 3.6-3.8 will do, and I may try dual-channel in my P4 rig (2.8c, DFI Lanparty 875ProB).
great thread... very interesting! :toast:

OK, here's some more details on this KHX PC3000
http://scammell.co.uk/TEMP/KHXPC3000.gif
you have DFI
give them 3.3vdimm and cool them with 80mm fan
@[-Stash-]
What is that program with the mem details ?
Everest/Aida32! ;)
Yeah, it's AIDA32, CPU-Z and Clockgen.
Tried them with everything up to 3.3v (without a fan, didn't have one handy, but they never got *that* hot) and they were unstable at anything above 200MHz 2-2-2-11. By unstable I mean they blue screened in windows after about 5 minutes of F@H and just booting up!
Arse.
On the other hand my Crucial Ballistix is doing better already at 210MHz @ 2-2-2-11 w/ 2.8v
Well, I'd advise you to get rid of the heatspreaders on these modules, because I often heard that they were put on without good thermal contact. so they hurt more than what they help. Perhaps that explains why they don't seem to get hot and why they are so unstable ;)
what you guys think of
CORSAIR CMX512-3200LL XMS3205V1.1 ?
guy selling them saying he got 218 2-2-2-x 100% stable with 2.8vdimm
BH5! :)
Depends how much he's asking for them ofc ;)
well price is around 160$...but this is slovenija...everything is expensier here...
comparing in usa people still want around 130-140$ for 512 BH-5 i think price is good ?
just in stock? the new ones are with tccd, not bh5 :)Quote:

afaik if dc ocs higher than sc its only due to chipset or voltage problems :)
if you have two sticks they will pull double the amps under load, exactly at the same time, wich will stress the mobo vdimm regulation a lot more. cooling the mosfets, increasing the 3.3v rail and having a good psu with a stable 3.3v rail usually helps a lot :)
glad you like this thread :toast:
cool :) let me know how it went! if you do it very carefully and have a lot of patience you can even put the heatspreaders and clamps into a plastic bag and attach them to the memory again if you want to :)Quote:

TEDY, i think the price is too high, but where else do you find bh5/bh6 nowadays? :(
it sounds like good bh5/bh6 as well, 220 with 2.8v is VERY good!
btw trixxy, i added your sticks as
"2372D" 2.0-2-2 3.40v 260mhz (corsair 3500 512mb@nf3)
"311we" 2.0-2-2 3.40v 260mhz (corsair 3500 512mb@nf3)
ok? since you said they werent 100% stable at 267mhz :)
cant wait to add the new results once you get the booster, sounds like some great bh5 there! :D might be a 300 candidate :)
Since it's an unmodded board 3.3v is as high as I can go, and since this Ballistix got me through the last two levels of HL2 last night at 215 w/ 2.9v I'm beginning to think I have the only bad BH5 in existance :( That or this infinity just does not like BH5, which is a grim possibility, although the NF7-S hated it as well...
no! i had two 512mb bh5 sticks that maxed out at 190 and 205mhz with 3.6v ;)Quote:

i tried them in an a7n8x deluxe 2.0 of my roomate, an nf7-s 2.0 of a pal and my dfi infinity ... always the same. theres really bad clocking bh5 and bh6, its nothing new...
i sent them back to the shop i bought them from :D
that shop has a great policy so you can return any hardware after 1 week testing it if you dont like it and get your money returned :) you dont even have to mention why you dont like the hardware, and you get even the shipping costs refunded! :D
great shop :D
hi, i'll be getting some corsair XMS3500 v1.1...they're all BH-5 right? hopefully i can add to the database :)
hey poch, welcome to XtremeSystems :toast:
im not sure, i dont know about the different corsair numbers... but iirc its bh6 and not bh5 :) should still oc great, corsair xms 3500 sticks are overclocking extraordinarily well compared to other bh5 and bh6 sticks, not as well as ocz bh5 and bh6, but close :)
cool thanks :D i'll check as soon as i get them.
Donno but ill tell u when i go home for chrismas. im still in training with the airforce and can't wait till mar 11Quote:

sorry for the double post forgot the pics :)
poch would you sell them ?
tedy i just got them so i'll play w/ it for a while :)
i haven't tried it w/ the booster yet..i'll give you a pm should i decide to sell it later on..
btw it was the PSU after all  whew!
wish i had such friends...you payed only 200$ ?
Great RAM there... rev1.1 is definitely BH-5 :)
Burn them in a lil ;)
the more memory the more stress on the vdimm and vref circuicy and the more they fluctuate, therefor you get a lower oc the more memory you use.
do they work together in sc? iif not then its probably that dc also stresses the dimms a bit more and 2.75v is very little for bh5.
thanks :)
saaya haven't tried running them in sc, only individually and in dc. yup 2.75 is pretty low but it's the max my IC7 would go (rev.1.0) :(
i have a booster on the way tho but i read here that its a bit tricky to get it to work on a v1.0 IC7 and that i need the vtt mod.
try the 3.3v rail = vdimm mod then... it works on most boards and vtt usually tracks automatically :) the only bad point is that its fixed at 3.3v but 3.3v is fine for bh5 :D
and if you want more vdimm you just have to bump the 3,3v rail :)
Imho yes!
hehe... Those are mine
damn he found me :D
didnt the BH5 modules have 2.5v on the sticker instead of 2.6v?
I may be wrong though...
depends on the date. take the spreaders off and see....Quote:

A little off topic but I have some BH-5 that does 240fsb 2/2/2/5 2.9v may go higher buy my FSB is limited week 49 year 03 KHX3200 256x2

TOMMYLEE by the week it's BH-5 i think
I took spreaders off and look what I saw: Kingston
V62691
0328 PO1
D328DW-45
i`ve got bh-5 chips?
HM Wasnt from 301 to 318 BH-5 100%?
And after that CH-5 ?
Kingston Ram w/remarked Chips as D328DW-45 ---------Before Week 18 Year 03 Winbond BH-5, after CH-5 (18 03 can be both)
So they are`t bh-5 :(
Nope, they're not BH-5 - bad luck dude.............but CH-5 still run very well with lots of volts!!!!
but like i told you TL pump up 3.2 vdimm and cool them.
Just swapped some stuff for a new/sealed pair of Kingston HyperX 3200 BH-5 I think.
KHX3200K2/512
9905192-012.A02
P35978X3 2.6v
First stick does 275 @ 3.5v Aida shows the SPD details as:- Week 45 03
Second stick does 265 @ 3.5v SPD says week 45 03 too.
Testing was done on my DFi NF3 250Gb with my 3400 DTR clawhammer @ 2-2-2 timings.
How on earth do you guys get the heatspreaders off?
Use a screwdriver to rip off the clips. Pry on the heatspreaders, NOT the RAM. (Sounds much more dangerous than it is.) Then use a razor blade to separate the thermal tape from the RAM chips. Worked for me and my PC3500 EBs, and they're still alive. :)
look in my sig.
What brand?Quote:

Mushkin could fire up the assembly lines, and start making pc3200/3500 lvl II again, if they want to. The trouble is, though is there aren't many "overclocking" weeks left, and buying them all up to see that only 20% of it is any good would be highly unprofitable.
Of course, from what I understand, that is precisely the reason why you started this thread... but all the "performance" BH-5 sticks you see, such as Kingston's various KHX sticks, Mushkin's 3500 lvl2, etc, they already use the "good overclocking" weeks, selectively. That's why you're simply missing so many weeks on your chart. Now, if you were to go back in time, and buy up all the "Meh." sticks you can find (buffalo, no-name, corsair value, etc, etc) you would fill in all those missing weeks... with :censored:ty results, might I add.
I recently got my hands on 2 sticks of bh-5 kingston pc3200 (512mb each)
I checked under the spreader which was relatively easy although at one point it felt like the sticks wud break into 2 pieces.!
I was happy to see they were BH-5 :)
they are week 29 2003..
I'm not really sure how well they overclock... first off it didnt like my abit PAT (known as GAT) on at all and wud crash or not boot into windows.. secondly I cant game at 220mhz @ 2225,2.5-2-2-5,2.5-2-2-8 (and any votls between 3.2-2.9) why is this?
by not game, i mean I can play the game, and it works but I see artifact lines on my screen like one big long line from left to right every so often a couple a minute...
someone told me to change my agp mhz to 67.. but then i cant even boot lol.. wth.. ill try the latest bios later..
it could be a case of a bad PSU. i used to have that prob w/ 2x512mb xms pc3500 BH5. i switched PSU's and the artifacts went away.
btw a DDR booster might help too. :)
its possible since I have a 400watt psu but heh.. yea a ddr booster will help I am sure....
I might just go back to my ballistix and sell this for a profit =\
Ok update got the heatspreaders off and this is what i found
340wf w942508bh-5
240FSB 2/2/2/5 2.9v need a volt mod
adding to the thread database:

other stick - 1352747 - 2.6v - assembly in usa - tiki man symbol

what cpu-z reported (about week of production):
http://indabasement.com/2.5v.jpg
http://indabasement.com/2.6v.jpg
in dimm2 i have the 2.6v labelled stick and in dimm3 i have the 2.5v labelled stick. im assuming cpuz used dimm3 for the dimm slot away from the cpu and dimm1 for dimm2 slot (i have the booster in dimm1). otherwise the label name is wrong on my pics, hehe.
board: NF7-S Rev. 2
prime happy:

3.2vdimm, 2-2-2-11, 2T, 2x512 in DC, ~241-242
i havent tested each stick individually.
hope that helps:)
pershoot why 2T ? try 1T :D
i wish i could gain anything significant with 1t & 2x512 on this board.
most ill do is ~220 (if that) on this high multi. i def dont want to lose my clock, as it just feels to good to be running at this speed... the boost in throughput is nice too.

woa! nice :D many new entries, thx a lot guys! :D
will update the db in a week or two when i have internet @home again :)
Got a couple of sticks for your most excellent database saaya :)
Corsair XMS PC3500 V1.1, 2 X 256 Meg (all BH-5)
Stick #1 - all 8 IC chips are '310WE' BH-5
Stick #2 - 4 IC chips are '310WE' BH-5, and 4 IC chips are '322WF' BH-5, the two sides of the stick are different :stick:.
322WF is an as-yet unreported stepping too - weird huh? :). If you want, I can take a picture of the chips to verify them. Although I can't really take a picture that proves that each side of the stick is actually different.
Anyhow, these two sticks do 260 MHz 2-2-2-11 in dual channel, with 24 hour memtest86 test #5 looping stability, at 3.6V of VDIMM, in my old DFI Ultra Infinity nForce2 board.
They could probably do a good ~5 MHz higher, if stability testing was only done with Prime95 ;) :D
I am also confident that they will do much better in an nForce4 board, with just a little more voltage :D
thx a lot felinusz, JuanFlaiter, Crimson_dAWN, arbiter, HermS and pershoot :toast: :toast: :toast:
SheeP, please at least post the stepping info from aida or cpu-z :)
zytrahus, 256 or 512mb? you got two sticks, right?
boblemagnifique, what manufacturer is that? 100% prime stable? :slobber:
MaSell, whats the full week stepping? i need the two letters behind the week stepping :)
ShadowScorpion, i suppose your using an nf2 board?
iddqd, i need the stepping infos ;)
thx zytrahus, results added :toast:
Hmm, I was sure that I posted the stepping in the previous post somewhere... but the BH-5 is 338WE. Don't remember what stepping BH-6 is, though.Quote:
