very nice :)
5GHz 1.22V...
Wow that chip is a Malay, Vivi? Doesn't seem to be very obvious which one is better. I was waiting for Costa Rica chips to surface but some people seem to be doing better here with Malay.
L306 seems crap. needs 1.24V for 4.3GHz and 4.4GHz isn't stable at 1.280V.
I7 4770 Batch L312B323 Malay
so far 4.5 @1.28 Cpu Temp is 28.0C watercooled cpu with Raystorm cpu block and Ek360 and D5 Pump on Asus Maximus VI Gene.
Motherboard temp is 29c Memory is Gskill F3-2400C9Q-16GTXD 16 gig kit only 12 gig in 3 sticks ,,, 4th Stick was DOA being Rma'd,,,
I hope this helps and im running with a 125.0 Mhz Strap with 36 multiplier and memory is at 1187.1 Mhz in cpuid its like ddr3 2330 or something not the full ddr3 2400 with the 125 strap on but as close as i could get it without going over...
hope this helps willi...
btw i never thought about going mATX till i started looking at this board alittle more and more... but i will not look back and do not regret it.. this board has everything i want and can do sli if i choose later on....
Forgot to post... Highest Recorded Temps Were 88 on the 1 core the other Cores Were 85-86 to Mid 70's with all threads @100% tested with Aida64 Stability and SuperPI for Stability with no problems showing and tests ran over 3-4 hours each
Hello
Willip90 what is your setup in bios please ? i delided my 4770K and i have 4.5Ghz for 1.28750V but whitout HT
Thanks
4770K @48*100 4800 just put the multi to 48 on al 4 cores . all volt on auto ca 1.29 and saved ASUS Maximus 6 Gene bios 711 watercooled. temp idle 30 full load under prime 68-70

http://i.imgur.com/CXk0xfp.jpg
most everything is set to auto the Multiplier is set to 36 with the strap 125 puts it up that high to 4.5 the memory i had to manually put to like 2335 i think it was and ht was on and virtualization techniology was on , Adapative was Disable as well as spread spectrum For VRM and Cpu both,,, Speed stepping was Disabled , the Multiplier and load was spread this was done not just for one core as i dont think it would be legit if it wasnt.. Rapid Start was enabled and Cpu Power duty control was set to Tprobe not Extreme. Ai Overclocker was set to manual and most all other settings were auto.... i havent really dug into it too deep to push it any further im pretty sure i could but i want to do it after i get the one stick of ram rma'd and i been thinking bout moving up to the Formula VI as it does have the watercooling option stock... if you need or want to know if anything specific was done other that that just ask as i havent dont too much to it to get it this far very little actaully.. Willi
Thanks Willi
Anyone know, how this batchs ; L313B986 - L315B340
Yo guys,
I ve got this one:
http://abload.de/thumb/batchasst7.jpg
It runs stable 4400Mhz@1.265v.
What you think about it and how high can I oc it probably under water?
New chip,on water, not the best water loop,1.118v 4.5Ghz and 4.5ghz uncore,4 cores and HT enabled
will test 5Ghz,please be 6.5Ghz on Ln2  Batch L309B091
Attachment 131203
Sorry forgot, updated post with batch ^^
Decided to use my UD5H for a new work machine so ordered another CPU
Batch number - L310B487
Not tested for stability or performance just to see what it would boot at & not crash. Looks to be quite good/better than my other one so I'll be going a chip switch later :D

Changed CPU out on the OCF & put it on better cooling over the stock box cooler above & its running good.

wow, nice... 5.0GHz at 1.25V it is GOOD ;)
Yeah more then awesome imo. :)
My 4770k can do 4.6Ghz @ 1.235v (cache x42 @ 1.13v), maybe I could try lower

Well i could boot and bench a bit at 1.218v

Batch no# L308B202
C-N thats a 6.5 chip! because you have a scaling batch there, goodluck dude!
Didn't see Batch# L311b411 posted. Earlier Malay batch, requires a Ringbus voltage of 1.26v to maintain 4.2Ghz without a BSoD, Vcore 1.27v under water.
Wish I'd not even bothered with a "K" model, having VT-d would've been better.
All 4670K duds, plz avoid. Booting at 1.4Vcore in Win7 and doing AIDA CPU Queen...

4770K L316B, pure crap. Need 1.26v for 4,2ghz under custom water. Stock vid 1,198v, can it get any worse? Going for sale.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4
316B are terrible batches, intel should be ashamed :P
omg.. VID 1.198V??? intel play tetris, dont make so bad processors! :)
Its so bad i m ashamed to even sell this cpu. It only deserves to melt in fire. Or to send it back to intel with a not so polite thank you note, lol!
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4
C-N, what were you're core/uncore 'v' running that? On the same batch myself.
Well my chip is a L316B295 batch, vid is 1.012v, will do 4.6ghz @1.200v, so not all week 16 chips are "crap". lol!!!
http://i572.photobucket.com/albums/s...ell461200v.jpg
If anyone care to sell me a nice clocking 4770k, especially from EU, feel free to drop me a pm.

I have an i5-4670K L313B434. Malay. Terrible chip: not even 1.350V is enough for 4.4GHz--crashes in 3 minutes in Prime with Noctua NH-U14S (Uncore at 33 to remove that from the equation).
Stock VID (with XMP enabled, which adds a VID bump on my motherboard) is 1.150!

anyone this batch ??
I everyone.
I bought the one new i7 4770K (L310B487).
From what I've seen, seems to be a good chip for overclocking.
However my cpu, not very consistent with expectations.
I've Seen some that do 5.0GHz with only 1.25/1.28v. However my cpu need 1.425v.
Someone can help me please? Some tips?
My sistem:
Maximus VI Gene
16Gb Samsung 30nm
2X GTX 780
Watercooled
Is that 1.425v stable or boot? Uncore? RAM? XMP? VRIN? VRING? etc etc....
What did you run with 4.6ghz & 4.8ghz stable?
I'm on the same batch and can run x48 stable 8hr stress at 1.25v (1.27v off the board). x50 will easily boot at 1.25v but am in the process of bringing it up to stable.
Not all chips from the same batch will be top performers but the 310B487-492's do seem to perform well on average.
it crashed with 1.425v.
I put everything in default and i made boot in 4.8 with 1.25v
a little bit put an image here

now is stable on 4.5 GHz 1.28v
PM'd.
I am so tempted to sell my piece of crap 4770K needs like 1.275v for 4500 and wont even boot with x50 @ 1.3v havent tried higher since im on NH-D14 i quess its not very likely to get a chip that does x50 under 1.3v daily is it ...
perhaps i should try to lower the uncore it was runnin x45 and x50 when i tried.
ill start with popin the lid of this thing we`ll see how it goes after that have some liquid pro on the way.
Got a crap 4770k batch 3313A943 stock VID 1.19v
Currently running delid bare die water block, temps are terrible at stock load - 73 degrees using the newest prime95
Folks, what's the fastest Intel chip that isn't s2011, isn't delidded, and is overclocked by a normal person on air? I assume it is haswell, but I need to check because you might have a surprise up your sleeves and the average 2600k or 3770k is better.
Or maybe it is too close to call. Thanks yo
A 5 GHz 3770k seems less hard to find than a good 4770k. Might be the best choice if you need the clocks on air/h20. but it's really close race ofc. Sandy Bridge is too much a power hog in comparison IMO, but sure, some of them you could run at 5,2-5,3 GHz 24/7 if you don't mind pushig volts a lot. I'd say 4,8 GHz 4770k = 5 GHz 3770k = 5,2 Ghz 2600k.
Sold my previous cpu and got myself a new one (310B). This one can get in win7 and use normaly at 4.7Ghz with 1.2vcore/1.85vrin. I can also pass cinebench r15 at 4.5ghz with 1.2vcore/1.80vrin. All these on stock intel hsf since i wait some fittings to finish my water setup. I also tried 4.6ghz but i bsod as soon as first core reach 99c

At work so batch information on hand but will edit post later. Only settings changed is vCore and vCache, everything else auto. Probably can lower voltages a bit more but haven't had the chance yet but will soon. Next up will be trying to get cache up to 4600mhz also along with RAM at 2400mhz with my 16GB kit.

I dont know what to do with my 4670k L311B662. Stock VID is 1.072. That thing wont even be stable @ 38 1.2v core , uncore 34. I couldnt get to windows @ 41 with 1.3v. How can it be that crap. Havent changed input voltage its 1.7 and the LLC is @ auto.
My best 4670k so far:
4670k|4500Mhz|1,123V|45|100.0|3800Mhz|2133 Mhz|ASRock Z87 Extreme6|Air|Delidded|L315B334|Boxed|ralle_h

Had two similar CPUs that did ~1,15V @ 4,5 Ghz but already needed 1,3V for 4,8 Ghz. Scaling is everything.
My Good L315B334 does 4,9 Ghz with around 1,3V but unfortunately im having big Problems with big 5 :(
Put on "safe" voltages and still going to work lowering them. Seems like this is the top end of my uncore for Prime stability within the voltage range I feel comfortable with.

Your cache voltage is higher than your vcore, thought this was a no no, according to the experts.
It very well maybe but I personally haven't seen it posted anywhere. These were the absolute ceilings I felt comfortable Priming with so I maxed them out to remove them as an issue. As of right now Priming same settings but with vCache set to 1.175v. Temps are higher due higher ambients this morning but it may be able to tough it out.
I finally got my new rig together and up and running. as of right now I turned c1e off and bumped the CPU voltage up to 1.2 and raised the multi up enough to get her up to 4.5 GHz. let it run prime for about 24 hours with no issues. highest temp I saw was 71c (h100i, still haven't delidded yet).
are there any other settings I should manually set or is it safe leaving them on auto? don't really have the greatest understanding of a lot of the settings
It seems interests have died down over the past month or so. Isn't anybody doing any more overclocking?
Picked up one at Fry's who pricematched Microcenter at $199 for a 4770k.
Picking up my Asus Hero VI next week and ordering some ddr3 2400 ram soon might wait for Cyber Monday. Gonna seen if it is a dog or not b4 considering delidding

My chip seems to be garbage. Put it under custom loop watercooling (Ek Supremacy Block & 2x 60MM Thick 360MM Rads).
Cannot get 4.6Ghz stable. 4.5Ghz seems stable so far with 1.3V, uncore overclocking is trash...cannot find a stable spot when I start increasing it. Anything above 39X sends the system into a tantrum. Voltages don't seem to help either...have tried VCCIN 1.8-2.2 / VRING 1.15-1.25 / Vcore 1.275-1.35 (may try 1.425??)
Chip still has it's lid on. With what garbage it seems to be I don't think it will be worth popping it off.
Just tried 47X w/ 1.425vcore & 2.4vccin as a last ditch effort. No dice. Boots to desktop but hangs in a bench. /kicks stone.
Hi people,
after seeing this i am frightened to buy 4770k now. Far as I have read, only good ones are till L312xxx. From our supplier I see batches 329 and 334 are available. Does anyone have experience with those? My happy target is 4,5 GHz with Gryphon and NHD14. Thanks.
Mine is 3334B905
You can see that it can do 4.5 Ghz@1.2v Prime95, SPI 1M@5ghz@1.4v and 5.100 MHz@CPUZ@1.4v.
Just figured I'd chip in my results. Long time member, I build a system about every 5-6 years, so I'm a bit rusty, but here's what I put together for a Photoshop machine for my wife:
Asus Maximus Hero 6
4670k Costa Rica 3339B845
32GB Gskill ripjaws 1600mhz
640 GT video card
Samsung 840pro
EK watercooling kit; 240mm rad w/corsair high pressure fans in push pull
Seasonic 650 modular
Went through the usual "put it on 46 and 1.25vcore and see what it does", not stable. played with adaptive a bit, pushed vcore all the way to 1.42 (temps never broke 80c in my 75F room - thanks Florida winters).
Current stable setup is 45x100, manual vcore at 1.395. 4.6 will post, but not stable even if I bump vcore. Temps never break 74c at 1.395vcore, stress tested AIDA64 for 8 hours in the heat of the day.
Was hoping for more, have the cooling for at least 1.45vcore on a hasswell but it looks like this chip is just average.
Just wanted to add that to the list.
Cheers all, see you again in 6 years when I build my next system (unless somebody wants to unload a 4770k that does 5.0GHz on <1.45vcore)
-dc
hah, my sig is hilarious, at least 2 machines ago. loved that PC-DL and TCCD with tight timings..had 36gig raptors in Raid 0 on that too....so noisy with stock IWT's...
/end threadjack
Ive got a Malaysia chip, currently doing 4.5ghz at 1.27v, seriously needs de-lidding, under prime95 core 1 hit 93oC while core 4 was round about 75oC with the other 2 cores hovering around the middle somewhere, this tells me the TIM and Lid are crap, however there is no way in this world I am putting a hammer to my chip, im sure plenty of you have done it, but it looks like total madness to me, I don't have ?250 to throw away.
However one thing that's got me wondering about my overclock is the image below, Windows system doesn't show my overclock, but cpu-z does ?
Im running it on a Gigabyte G1 Sniper Z87 board, could not for the life of me get it stable with the Gigabyte official bioses, so today I flashed the modded bios, F2b, worked perfectly straight away, a very easy overclock, and successfully ran 17.5 hours of Prime95 (the newest one), also running 4 x 2gb (8GB) sticks of G.Skill Ripjaws 2133mhz @ 9-11-9-28-2T.
And on top of that, only 7.8 on the CPU in Windows User Experience when everything else is scoring 7.9, whats that all about ?
I just did an IHS removal on an i7 4770K, I should have check the quality before I think.
Temps are stunning good now compared to standard, Batch is L347B947 - stock Voltage 1.048V
Any how, the CPU seems to be a very bad OC CPU... 1,2V @ 4.3Ghz seems not to be stable, that sucks as others do 4.6 and more with that voltage. I don't have an idea what I might do wrong, but at only 1600 mem speed I only can imagine that the cpu voltage is to low and causes BS in prime 95 load.
Voltage Limit in Linx, which stresses the CPU massively, are ~ 1.25V which results in ~85C - daily workload or Prime large FFT are less than 70 in this voltage.
http://abload.de/thumb/1qns04.png
Edit: Prime 95 large FTT Temps are far much lower even on high voltage:
http://abload.de/thumb/2yhuhe.png
-> 1.35V -> 4,5 Ghz not Prime stable, sucks
