CAS 5 is real as long as you set it during Memory Training NOT AFTER
you can tell by perf diff immediately

True , but when u bench PSC or some wired memory chip
u will see difference between CL8 and CL7 in OS immediately
CL6~CL5 u need lower TCWL also . Or the eff will be still the same . Even worse.
CL4 is some kind of BIOS code bug ... It will return back to the value u set in BIOS .
Apacer 32GB kits is awesome . 2854 12 13 13 35 still going ..

vdimm?
Asrock OC formula have power in 3dmark2003 to :)
http://www.hwbot.org/image/842344.jpg
So I can replicate my vdimm issue without a hitch, if I set any vdimm north of 1.8 (1.805+) it reverts back to 1.713v, however every value including 1.8v and below sets correctly, this was tested on the latest bios (1.15B&D).
do you have an ean-code?
Sorry...I meant nick...what is the productcode from the stix? I can't find them anywhere!
This board loves BBSE too :D
http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps5d86b020.jpg
well... what wrong on my setup for try to play CL5 & CL6 on this board ??? i have better results from CL6 over CL5 at 2400MHz and PSC chip
and for other subtiming all same setting
2400MHz 5-11-8-24-1T, 1.85V (air :D)
http://img.techpowerup.org/120921/pi32_2400c5-2.png
2400MHz 6-11-8-24-1T, 1.85V
http://img.techpowerup.org/120921/2400c6-2.png
and.... not only on high frequency of RAM to see different but i back to try with normal clock at 1600MHz compared by 5-9-9-24-2T and 6-9-9-24-2T
(used 2T for lower Vdimm ;)) all subtiming are same and it same case like above CL6 still better over CL5 and big different as well for Spi32M from two time running
CAS5 - Spi32M first run 07.31.044s | second run 07.30.685s
http://img.techpowerup.org/120921/cl5.png
CAS6 - Spi32M first run 07.28.907s | second run 07.27.845s

Greetings from Slovenia
Board is the best yeaa, I think, I will have one. I have a question, for which tube are conector on block,10-12-13mm?
thx

Tools update to 0924 ,
Formula Drive 0.2.13, Memory Configurator 1.0.8 , Rapid OC 1.0.16
http://picx.xfastest.com/nickshih/as...latool0924.rar
I added user profile for memory configurator , U can save and load ur own setting easily in OS. Saving lots time.
You also can recover to bios value by the bios value option .Load it and apply . Please check the attached picture.

Is possible to unscrew fiting of and replace?
thx
I ended up translating Billy-the-Kid's review today, you can read it here if you like to do so :)
Me 2 :D Tested out the board frozen for the first time today.
I was pretty impressed with the board, very easy to get up to speed, and also has some very nice OC tools for use at the desktop level. My efficiency is terrible for 2D mostly because I hate benching 2D :p:
^Nice to see you benching Gunslinger:up:
Go ahead and update the bios, as well the new ones are very nice, and dat cpu:eek:
It must not be truly stable at the wprime runs because those times are super off for the clocks, but other than that everything else looks good:clap:
Z77 OC formula BIOS update 1.15G , Add SPD info option in Dram Configuration
renew the Dram Preset profile.

Was testing a new chip tonight and did some 5Ghz runs with vdimm @ 1.8v
First up is all auto on secondary and tertiary timings, all I did was set 8-12-8-28-1T and the rest is magic . . .
http://i.imgur.com/fmj04.png
then I tested 1276 8-11-7-27 and surprisingly it was about the same as 2600 8-12-8
http://i.imgur.com/dWYU4.png
and then a decent 2600 run
http://i.imgur.com/mZNq9.png
also was able to get an 06 run in
http://i.imgur.com/XIvMZ.png
this board is awesome, I just need a good chip which seems like it is never going to happen:rofl:
this board is awesome also with SB arhitecture ...works verry fine, the VRM is the best ever made :)
my all IVY is to RMA...so i play with SB:D

^Awesome Nick, I will have some Dominator 2800 c11's to test once the board gets back to me.
The Avexir kit is 2GB dimms?
PSC?
HyperPi at 1575MHz ... shoot me!
Froze some mem on Fromula today, board handled it very well for 3.5 hours of full memory pot with psc :)

So efficient! I was amazed, beat my old best by quite a margin at lower speed memory speed and looser timings.
Some pics sorry camera phone.

At a wall with the imc, will test a new chip tomorrow. Might change to bbse as well, might not. We will see how I feel.
Board is a tank, true test is to see if it runs tomorrow but Im sure it will. Very impressive, ASROCK has changed for the better.
^This is awesome Splave, PSC powah!
Lookin good Splave, nice numbers.
So what's the trick in getting this board to clock past 3.6? lol. I'm not sure what's happening with mine, but I am on an SB, 2700k. Do I need to do anything differently? Do the profiles apply to sb as well, or are they just for ivy setups? I've tried clocking manually and loading Shih's profiles with no luck. Turbo on or off, either way it never goes past a 36x. Never kicks into turbo mode even while gaming. With speedstep on it'll downclock under 3.6, but again never pushes past it, multiplier never goes above 36 despite being set higher in bios.
The multiplier will post with every single setup I've tried, boots into Windows fine, but it never actually takes the oc. Pretty weird, any advice? Is there a way or good purpose to having all speedstep and turbo features off at once?
Allen, is that a quadro i see?
Id like to try that board. I just posted after nick. cool.:buddies:
forgot to post this one, nicks cpu and my lightning 580 combine forces at ASROCK HQ

not bad for use x79 moa hard drive xp install XD nature is run at 1400/1300. will have to revisit this proper when I find a better chip.
here is avexir 2666 cas11 2x2gb, pretty nice XD this imc wont run over 2740 must keep searching. These sticks have so much more to give.
check out the subtimings.

not bad for single sided at all.
http://i.imgur.com/UWBqL.jpg
damn you newegg charge card, will order some more 3770ks and hopefully one has a proper imc or frequency because I know im not nearly lucky enough for both.
dude, stop buying it from newegg. go local and abuse the crap out of their return / exchange policy. this is Amurrica!
I think I might just grab some avexir, they make some nice sticks for sure.
Some 3D results. Air cooling. VGA 7970Ghz Edition Sapphire VaporX. 4.9Ghz is the highest frequency for my cpu under air cooling.
Attachment 130479Attachment 130480
Nice results Vlad !
Later in the winter on lower ambient temperature, 5ghz will be posible on cpu.
what is your zip? they have it in their online store with store pickup availability, but it asks for the zip code.
you can also inquire if they price match. if they do, its worth the tax because you can keep return/exchange... and alot faster... with no shipping cost. 10.25% tax here btw... even from newegg since they are based in cali.
Imo, Neweeg batches from NJ warehouse still around 3224~3226 which odd is 1:4 for 2933+ imc..waiting for 3228 and up and not even focus on high Mhz core yet.
Sold some old stuff. Got 5 more to try. Damn you over clocking!
How about a data base with different IC using 1.15g bios. Let's use AIDA64 or SPI 1MB or 32MB ?
Let's see the difference between different IC.
I will receive my motherbard tomorrow or Wednesday the later. What is the latest bios ? On Asrock waebsite, I see Z77OCF1.40 and in this topic Z77OCF1.15G.
lol splave 5 cpu's!
The other day i managed to buy a cpu, hairdry-open the pacakge, test it, junk, put it back and returned for no charge. FTW
OK, thank you.
I received the motherboard on Tuesday and it is impressive : my 2600K watercooled reaches 4900 Mhz at 1.365 V and 5000 Mhz at 1.395 V 1 h OCCT stable. For comparison, the same CPU with the same cooling on an ASUS Sabertooth Z77 reached 4700 Mhz at 1.375 V. So I am very satisfied.
Nevertheless, I noticed that my case power and reset buttons LEDs don't light anymore at 5000 Mhz. At 4900 Mhz, no problem. A BIOS bug ?
Moreover, I would like to see these 2 improvements in the next future Asrock motherboard :
- SATA ports level with the motherboard edge : indeed, on this motherboard, there is a small space between the SATA ports and the edge so that I have difficulty to plug and unplug angled SATA cables.
- 1/4'' watercooling threads instead of embedded nozzles : I was not able to watercool the mosfets because I use 3/4'' inner tubing.
nice overclock overclock.
Thats weird! that your lights sitch off at 5ghz. Must be an OC warning sign
yea i heard alot of watercoolers not liking the fixed threads. Im sure asrock got the message :D.
This board OC's cpu's really well. You can't go wrong with it
Heloo
My solution for connector
First small piece of 10mm tubing then 13mm and smal Tube Clamps for strong attachment. :D

New bios and Tools update
Z77 oc formula beta Bios L1.42A , added lots windows8 function support , Fixed some issues of keyboard mouse compatibility .

@ Nick is the new bios a better option than the previous G bios?
Good to hear, will be testing tonight then.
Also I am having the same vdimm issue with a brand new board, anything over 1.8v results in 1.725v, surely this must be a bios issue, as it is prevalent on new chips and with any kit of dram (PSC, BBSE). I will test Hynix and Samsung high mhz kits tonight with my good IMC chip.
Bumblebee themes !!! :D:D:D

Does anyone else encounter the same phenomenon ? I flashed form the 1.15G to the 1.42 bios and I have to increase Vcore form 1.395 to 1.4 V to be stable (OCCT 1 h).
Man, you really out-yellow my test rig... for now. So here comes my Daiso yellow electrical tape, stick stick stick... :D
http://i755.photobucket.com/albums/x...G_4428Copy.jpg
Same problem here with vcore. I can't do anymore 3D Mark Vantage CPU Test with 1.2vcore on bios.
I found the vcore issue . Bcz i update the new cpu microcode on 1.42A. Seems new microcode will make vcore higher to get stable.
I will release new bios with same microcode as 1.15G , then u guys can try it .
hello
needhelp or opinion
I am not able to stabilize the memories to 2600
I have a 3770k and some TrindentX 2400 CL10 with samsung chips
with the 2600 but not stable.
I boot to windows 2600 with 10-13-13-31 or 11-14-14-31/35 .. with the voltage above 1.8V but Pi 32M run crashes
any thoughts or subtiming that can help stabilize
use the bios 1.15G
thanks and sorry my english
OK, thank you.
In the 1.42, I saw the fast boot feature : it is really a great idea : only 2 s initialization delay when the PC reboots. On the other hand, when the PC starts for the first time, the boot requires about 10s. Would it be possible to decrease this time when the PC is started the 1st time ?
thanks nick
already tried and nothing, starts but does not reach the windows. back to restart
I will try and raise the VTT and Dram voltage
will be bad IMC, or bad luck chip samsung ? :(
Yes, after enabling the fast boot : the PC restarts very quickly but when the PC is switched on, there is no difference, I must wait around 10 s before Windows is loading.
mine are double sided code: xxx1500xx
I tried VTT- 1.3V and DRAM 1.8V and it is not stable
is the same with 11-14-14-35
I had no luck with samsung Ic
Work good! Thanks Nick :)
