what a great discovery , i didn't know boards get revised lol. Wait a minute, P67A-UD7 B2 then P67A-UD7 B3 hmm, X58A-UD5 1.0 and then X58A-UD5 rev 2.0 hmm, Z68X-UD3H 1.0 then Z68X-UD3H rev 1.3 hmm i see your point. Do you think other board makers revise boards too? That would be even more crazy.
lol im just messing with you, only time will tell what will happen to the X79-UD7, i wish i knew. As far as i know you currently can't buy one in the US because they sold out again, as my USA contact told me they might not restock as it was limited edition*
Looks like Tigerdirect still has the OC/UD7 in stock, for anyone currently looking
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...188&CatId=7381
oh hey man long time you haven't been around! nice to see you back around.
nice to see there are some in stock!
Thanks! I've been back a few weeks now, it's great to be back!
Ya, not sure how long those will last at TD, especially since issues seems to keep coming, they may end up having to recall them back or something if the cause can't be addressed via BIOS updates?
X79UD7 arrived.
in test
I thank GIGABYTE for faster service problems

Well am very happy with my UD7. Hope these issues dont happen to me. Running F7 BIOS now for 4 weeks
I installed this board today with my new cpu (3960X) and I already hate it!
I connected everything and started it.... Error 6A! Nothing on my screen.
I already tried 3 different memory modules, unplugging everything and resetting bios, changing bios, using only 1 GPU, changing PCI-e slot, unplugging everything that isn't really needed to boot (usb devices, sata, ...)
Nothing works!
The board boots and is showing some numbers, then hangs on 6A...
I only have 1 cpu, so changing that ain't gonna happen.
Try mounting your heatsink different, seemed to work for some users. if your board doesn't have F7 on it it might need that BIOS update. Keep trying until you can get it, b/c i think some users said it would work one 1/10 of the time, and have the BIOS ready on a FAT32 formatted flash drive to flash your BIOS to F7. That is what i would do, but i didn't have that 6A error so I can't reproduce it and find a better solutions, but i think BIOS F7 seems to have addressed it somewhat pretty well
I have a bios update ready.
Already tried holding the wc block on it by hand. Same error. I have been trying to boot this board for 3 hours.... getting out of ideas by now :(
hi UTerror, i had this issue when i had this board before it started smoking up, i would just hold start button and reboot and eventually it would post, it would sometimes take a few times
tacking battery out for a while may also help not sure if it is a cold boot problem, as i am sure it is what dinos22 mentioned earlier ( the protection mechanism implemented on UD7 may not be functioning correctly. We are getting all these boards back to HQ for testing and will find out what is up and update. It's being treated as a top priority!) once in the bios disable ratio change in os seemed to help for me. i spent
over 2 weeks messing around with this board with no satisfaction:( and still think to myself what a waste of two weeks, good luck UTerror, i hope you have more luck than me:)
AHHHH! Got it working!
I tested everything I could think off. 4 different sets of ram, lots of GPU combinations, other cooling, without HD's and other extra's, cmos reset's, other bios, taking battery out, ....
Nothing worked. I finally decided to contact the shop and ask for an RMA... Received the rma numbers and info and was about to return the board.
I was gonna give it 1 more try before sending it. Booting pc......... => 6A again. Changed bios again......... something on my display!
It showed many post codes and the display turned on! The message on the screen was a bit strange, but heh... it boots!
It was showing something like this: "Bios is corrupted, it might take a few minutes to fix it."
After a few minutes I got in the bios (F2!!!!) and flashed it right away!
I left all the bios options at default settings for now. Going to install windows now.
I will look at the bios options when windows is done installing. I hope there are some tweaks to make it boot quicker, cause it really takes a long time to boot!
Yo UTerror,
Do you know this site?
I told you sometimes it works. Make sure to disable ratio change in OS like he suggested.
BTW here is my G1 Assassin 2 review i just posted up if anyone is interested to see how that board compares to the UD7: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...rformance-BF3)
@Sin0822: any review coming up for the UD5? Am trying to swap the UD7 for a UD5.Quote:

sick tubing man
As there is no specific thread for it but it's the UD7's smaller sister i'll post here. I've been using the UD3 benching lightly for a few hours, and so far so good! The only issue I had was the USB mouse inverted in the BIOS with F3 but that was fixed when I flashed to F8. Well happy this far :)
CPU-Z does report a lower vcore than what I have set in the BIOS though, i'll find my multimeter and verify. Any tips on what I should set LLC to ?
it is not written levels right? i would try the second highest, or even maybe the highest.
Its written, Normal - Standard - Turbo etc., so I guess Turbo or Extreme ? I've added a 120mm fan blowing towards the VRM area, but I need to fix some sort of mounting for it as my comp is inside a case and I cba to have the side door open all the time. Been running at 4.7 2133mhz mem since Saturday, 4.8 seemed a little difficult as it would not pass Vantage the first time atleast. I'll try some more today, not too familiar with the board yet :)
Btw Sin after reading through a lot of the threads on this forum, you should ask Gigabyte for a paycheck ;)
As TT forum is down again.....(for me)
GA-X79-UD7 - F9b

do you have log?
i just saw it, thanks :)
TT is up for me, but theres only F9a. Do you have the UD3 F9b too perchance? :)
EDIT: If there is one of course.
Cool. I've got an issue with my UD3 btw, sometimes it just won't boot. I've been running at 47x100 1.48v for three days now, doing whatever I use the setup for (gaming, benching Vantage) plus a few hours of Prime95 for stability testing. Keeps looping trying to boot and eventually makes me reset BIOS settings. At uni now though so I haven't been messing too much with the setup today, but it's similar to when I tried getting 2400mhz on the memory. Too low IMC/VTT voltage perhaps?

I also just got a UD3 so i'll be working on that soon.

Funny thing is that the UD3s ship with a guaranteed BIOS of F7 or newer and it says so on the box, haha.
Why no LN2 tests ? Isn't that what the board was really made for ?
f9b here and very satisfied with it, stable and good for oc...
Updated to a 3930k stepping c2 and supersatisfied with it. More oc with less voltage. Intel should have waited and sell this c2 as first sandy bridge-e...
This new 3930k is from Malay, my last one was Costa Rica. People are saying malasian sb-e need less voltage than costarican...
Congrats all! EOL for this board.... We have a limited edition motherboard... Dont say i didnt tell you so a few posts back ;)
Lets hope support is still around!
Yo guys,
I just ordered an oc-bundle (X79-UD-5/3930K[C2Stepping] 4,5 GHZ guarantied, paid 1248,68 frogskins). Can't wait until I screw all the stuff together and see how it works -hopefully well.
Updated BIOS to F9b, which auto-updated backup BIOS and took out my RAID again... so fuggin' annoying. WTB BIOS update that doesn't nuke my RAID...
Thanks for confirming my thoughts on that bios. Everytime they drop a bios for supposed saftey concerns it will overwrite all previous bios's. Not a fan of this either. very happy I did not load this one.
In my giga ud7 f9b flashed only to one bios, not both. f8 did flash both...
Come on now.... Are you sure it was the BIOS? :D
You sure you didn't accidentally let windows try to load after the flash, without going back into the BIOS and enabling RAID again? The ONLY time I've seen arrays corrupted via BIOS flash is if you forget to enter the BIOS after flashing and enable RAID again.
Update of backup BIOS wouldn't cause this either, once that was done you'd shut down or reboot and still have plenty of time to enter the BIOS again to enable RAID. I'm not trying to give you a hard time, just want to let others know it's not very likely that the BIOS or BIOS update process itself destroys RAID arrays.
I'm quite sure. Since F4 I've updated my BIOS probably 6 times and every time I've made sure to go into BIOS and change the SATA controller over to RAID, however the RAID setup PRIOR to loading Windows already shows the RAID broken. The only BIOS updates that have destroyed my RAID were F7 and F9b. I backed up my BIOS prior to the update hoping that if my RAID got destroyed I'd be able to recover with my backup, but as the update took out both the main and backup BIOS and will not allow me to downgrade I got fuxxed.
UD7 - F9 is out.
New BIOS:
G1.Assassin 2 - F9
GA-X79-UD7 -F10
GA-X79-UD5 -F9
GA-X79-UD3 -F9
These newer then F9B Stasio ?
I am pretty sure it should be newer, as F9X betas are all before the final which is F9. No?
What is the change log stasio? ANy idea when gigabyte will update their US site with official BIOSes that solve boot loops on Z68/P67?

Hi folks,
I just started OCing my X79-UD5 last week and was wondering if my experiences so far are of interest here. I don't intend to go really extreme with my 3820 tho. So...Whatcha think?
Any developments on this? After a very few months of life for the UD7.Quote:
Congrats all! EOL for this board....
New BIOS is out.
Could u post the changelog for F11a?
thx
Has anyone tested F11B? Is there a changelog?
Anyone experiencing loosing power on the USB devices, particularly the mouse and keyboard on the X79-UD7? Happens to me a lot. All the lights in the keyboard and mice (logitech g9x) blinks like a Christmas tree when this happens. Am on BIOS F10. Once this happens, all you can do is hit the reset or power button.
Try F11c . :D
Usually for me loosing power on the USB devices is unstable setting.
Thanks Stasio. I was playing with F11c over the weekend as Giga said it fixes the LSI raid card issue. I did not notice the USB issue there, but, it did disable the first PCIe slot. Went back to F10.Quote:

This usb problem happens even on stock settings, no overclocking.
I'm still having trouble with S3 sleep state... most of the time when I try to bring the PC out of sleep it restarts and then has to recover from a crash, but does not BSOD so there is no crash dump for me to analyze. Anyone else having this problem?
Well, some good news. i got my X79-UD7 to work yesterday:shocked: Tried over and over all the things suggested in this thread. But that didn't sole the MB..
So just by accident, i thought i would try it with nothing connected. And at this time the heat sink was only standing on the cpu on its own. No bracket on to hold it down..
And then it happened, i saw some number on the debug display i haven't seen before. And then BEEP it started and i got a picture on the screen.:clap: I couldn't believe it. But it was true.
Then i connected the keyboard and it started. Still without the fan. Then i hooked that up and it started.. And after that i found a hdd hooked that up. But now it didn't start. Not if i cleared the cmos.
So then i disconnected everything and tried again, but nothing. And here's what it is. Someone said the socked might be pressure sensitive. So i lifted and moved the heat sink a bit. And guess what, it started up.
My board then with standard bios, is cpu pressure sensitive and cpu fan connected sensitive.
I mounted the bracket and got it to start. Turned it off for some reason. Then it didn't start again. Unplugged fan, but no.. Started to move the heat sink. And ta-da it started.
Now it's up and running win 7 64bit, only 1 stick of ram yet, 1 ssd, 2x7970's.. and the wifi card..
I hope this can help others, if there are any that still has this problem..
Now my question is this. What bios should i upgrade to. One for the main bios and another for the second one..
And last a pic of my getto setup now just to show it stared and is running. If you can't see the pic, let me know. I'll put it in a different album.

I just fired mine up with a 3930k and temporary watercooling system (480 koolance with 1500rpm fans, and a passive 360 SR1) was getting idle temps (in Bios) of 30degrees. im guessing thats good, considering my actual loop is going to have 2 quads and a 360.
But i wanted to ask, what bios should i update to? i left off at F8... im guessing we are far more ahead by now.
Anyone have some good settings for a 3930K @4,5Ghz? Sill on air running with a PHANTEKS PH-TC14PE cooler

Bios is the F11e beta
Does anyone have a changelog for F11n beta bios?
Im having difficulty setting up my RAID0 Samsungs... It works about 30% of the time, but the resulting install is so slow... i was getting better results on a single mechanical drive... :/
Hello,
I just built my new setup with
I7 3960X
Gigabyte X79 UD7 OC Bios F10 & F11
4X4 G.Skill TridentX 2400C10
CFX 7970
Alim corsair TX750W monorail 62A
WD Velociraptor 150Go
Unfortunately I can't set my RAM to 2400mhz CAS 10 since my desktop keeps rebooting when I do it.
Tried XMP profile and same thing happens, same with custom mode.
Even 2133 doesn't work.
WIth another kit (Gskill Ripjaws 2133 C9 4x 2GB) I got no problem setting the RAM with the XMP profile @ 2133mhz.
Any thoughts?
