Final BIOS released for all boards.
Final BIOS released for all boards.
sometimes at startup, the fan connected to sys_fan2 of p55a ud6 ( everest 120mm) run (power on leds) and then turns off for 1-2 seconds (leds off), to restart immediately after
seems to be connected to the Tamb, does anyone know why?
I have the same board rev 1 and i can't even get into the bios
I have tried three different psu's, 3 different graphic cards, 4 different sticks of memory and all i get is the thing will power up and all the fans will spin including the vga fan then fast constant beeps then it reboots fires up the fans and does this over and over until i turn it off??
No hard drive no keyboard or mouse or anything else except the cpu & fans, graphic card, One memory stick, trying to do a bench test first but failing to even get into bios, even after clearing cmos ..
Thinking i got a bad board. --->Forgot to mention that i am trying a intel xeon x3440 so maybe the board will not accept it???
I'm glad that I'm not the only one with this problem. It's the reason that I'm still on F5. Was this fixed with F9? I still had this problem as well as not being able to install chipset drivers through Intel's download with F8.
Also does anyone know the measuring points for VCC,VTT, and vdimm for the P55A UD3?
They are still listing F9 for the latest for the P55A UD3.
Ive got a P55A-UD4P with F10 BIOS, and there is no option to adjust the uncore multi. Is there another bios, or modified one that can adjust it?
uncore multi is locked
:|
Hey guys, can someone post up a Template for a UD4P with a Lynnfield? Just got a UD4P and 860, don't know where to start :P
Here u go, nice easy little overclock to start with:
I'm not sure what RAM u have, so i left all the RAM settings on auto. If your comfortable with knowing that ur RAM will run 10x multi for 1720mhz, then do it :up:Code:CPU Clock Ratio [21X]

Thanks, what are max safe Vcore/Vtt voltages for lynnfields?
1.40v for vcore and vtt is intel absolute max in the data sheets
I'm running 1.2875v vcore and 1.31v VTT for 200x19, is that ok for extended periods of time? I'm currently using a megahalems with just one fan pulling air through (a fan on the front doesn't clear my memory heatsinks), looks like i'm topping out around 80c. I'll being doing a CPU loop within the next month when I get a little dough, but this will do for now.
I'm on about the same, 20x200 with 1.344vcore load, and 1.31vtt for my 24/7. Although HT is off, gets to like 80c in prime with it enabled, makes no difference for what i do as well. With HT on i need about 1.376v :/
I've found 20x multi to be the sweetspot for me, but i'm puzzled as to why. People have said odd multi's are better, or even even. But what i thought it could be, is that vtt acts like a buffer (like it did on my q6600), bring it closer to vcore by lowering multi to help with stability. And for me, 20x200 happened to be perfect, 1.344vcore and 1.31vtt needed, it made a lower vcore (1.32v) considerably more stable. Not sure though.
edit: i also have a megahalems.
Well here's an update: I lapped my comically convex 860, and am running Prime small FFTs right now. Temps went down in excess of 10c :D 195x20 at 1.27v VTT and 1.34375v Vcore. Temps are in the low - mid 80s (not higher than 85c, and that's perfectly fine in my book for Prime), and it seems stable. I'm hesitant about going for 4ghz, mainly because I need at least 0.02v more, and I don't want to push the temps any higher. Maybe when it cools down here, right now ambients are 25c.
Anyone know if the new bios on the p55a-ud3p will support the i7-875k?
Since BIOS F10,but F11 for sure:
http://www.gigabyte.com/support-down....aspx?pid=3241
I just installed F11 on my P55a UD3 and I can finally boot from my cd-rom again but now it seems to take longer to boot into the os. It sits at "loading operating system" for longer.
just flash F11 bios on my p55a ud6
great
memory bandwith and memory latency is better that with old bios (F9)
+500 mb/s in read and -0.3ns of latency
noooo i'm always late lol :D
but is it beta ?
however i think that the F11 is very good ...
there are knon bugs about dram timing?
bah
i don't know why but cl6 is fake
if i set it everest or memax2 show same result that with cl7 ( 6 8 6 vs 7 8 7 )
:\ (bios F10 & F11)
Bought a P55A-UD3 rev. 1 a couple months ago stuck a 860 cpu in it and OC it to 4.2 ghz without any problem.
Just bought another UD3 but this time a rev.2 board and a 875k CPU.
To put it mildly this rev.2 board stinks! Wouldn't boot to begin with, fans ran up slowly and the internal speaker beeped constantly. Reset everything and it finally booted. Tried a slight overclock to 3400 and couldn't even get to windows! Updated BIOS to F11 but this board still won't oc and is setting the CAS 9 RAM at to CAS 6 !? As per BIOS.
Does anyone know what Gigabyte changed in Rev.2 of this board ? Anyone else having issues with Rev.2 of the board?
Sounds like rma to me.
hey guys I got an issue.. I cant get my p55-ud6 rev 1.0 and my 875k to stress test with HT on no matter what I do. Ive tryed f6-f8-f10-f11c bios and everything seems the same. here my current settings.
cpu : 4ghz
multi:x22
vcore: 1.2875
qpi-vtt: 1.26
bclk: 186
dram: 1.72
pch: 1.18
PLL: 1.82
pci-e: 101
memory performance is set to "standard" mode
Memory: Kingston HyperX khx1600c9d3k3
2232mhz version 4.10 memtested went 10 full tests 8 times over no problem, so I dont think its the ram at all.
7-12-8-28-88-1t
all acc settings are diabled except HT the misc section everything is disabled. It seems like alot of folks in here are using the p55A-ud6??? is the p55-ud6 is kind of a lemon for overclocking an i7??? thats image im getting since ive tryed every trick I know and Still cant get this think stable with ht on. with HT off in opinion it need way to much voltage to become stable with only 4 cores kinda disappointing.
any help you be great :)
llc ?
more i7 lynnfield can run @4ghz with 1.3+v
now you have an 875k, this is good normaly i know that him can run @ 4ghz with 1.26-1.27v but with low bclk, i don't know if @ 186 it's possible...
however try
vcore 1.32v (under llc2)
vtt 1.30v
pch 1.05 (this is not critical for overclock)
pll 1.80-1.82v
for example, my i7 860 with my p55a ud6 can run stable @ 4ghz, 192mhz of bclk ram 10x with 1.328v (under llc 2) and vtt 1.30v, vpll 1.80
@ 186mhz of bclk i need only 1.26v but not all i7 are same
ps do u have p55.ud6 or p55a ud6?
Hey Devil its a P55-UD6 rev 1.0 I did some further test this morning and my chips seemed to be more stable at a vtt of 1.18v and lower. I actually got it too LINX stress with a 17k problem at 4ghz at 1.18v vtt, but as soon as I took the voltage near 1.3v vtt it would crash. Its kinda of a wierd issue but I think the chip is just sensitive too vtt.
just too add this in I can stress the cpu at 1.16 vcore at 3.7ghz at 1.18 vtt passes test no problem
vcore 1.32v (under llc2)
vtt 1.30v
pch 1.05 (this is not critical for overclock)
pll 1.80-1.82v
and these setting are exactly what I tryed at first like .... when I read your post it was like you read my mind hehe =) sep my vtt was 1.28v I think and my PCH was alittle higher at 1.1 but I dont think that matter's much.
what is the stepping on your guys 860's/870's?? its B1 on the 875k.
Yep stepping is B1.
Just set VTT to sweetspot of whatever bclk u run. So it looks like for that bclk u only need 1.18vtt, keep it as that. But to be honest i found keeping vtt closer to vcore helps stability. So if ur using 1.32vcore, then set a bclk/cpu multi combination in which it will NEED around 1.30vtt and 1.32vcore. But hey, it might not be the same on ur chip, or even the 875k altogether.
didnt make a different... still the same problems... cant get past 4ghz under linux with HT on. try f8 how...
What voltage do u need for 4GHz with HT off?
too gets things stable around 1.32v without HT the funny thing is that I would have too add more voltage once I add alittle VTT or Xcore it just locks up. with the x58 and a i7 920 D0 I no prblem doing 4.4ghz ht on at 1.3875v... in my opinion that isnt right my i7 920 would do 4ghz at less than 1.15v.
I tryed f8 last night no change I think the boards just a lemon... I got a MIIIE comming ill try this overclock with it and see if the resault are the same... my bet is either this board doesnt like the ram I have since it isnt on the QVL or the board just a lemon but its odd I was able to run 2232 stable thats pritty good for not being on the QVL... I can see it being the chip Its a hand picked batch this chip should really clock.
im at 3.718 atm 1.15v 1.18vtt running perfectly stable 186bclk 2232mem... its got me stumped.
details on my psu its a corsair HX 850
with HT?
your 875k is the second 875 very unlucky that i see, other 875, as you, want 1.38v to run @ 4ghz ht on
but your vtt is very good :P
yesterday i play with settings, i found a good setup for 24/7
i7 860 3906mhz 21x186mhz @ 1.264v (under llc, 1.248v in idle)
ram @ 1860mhz 7 8 7 24 1t 85 1.632v
pci-e 102
vtt 1.26v
vpll 1.80 vpch 1.05 other su normal
http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/2452/91802888.th.png
is very good because vcore and vtt is realy low, 1.264v for 3900mhz is good
i think that my i7 can run @ 4ghz with less vcore of 1.328v...
however now i must try to change my vga card
my sys is RS, i try different setup but always in game online i get bsod with 0x124
i try to up vtt +0.04v
i try to up vpch 0.05v
i try to up vpll
i try to relax timing of ram
never lol always it bah
ideas?
ps prime95 stable for 3-4 hours, not very long time but in game i think that my sistem is less stressed

Does anybody have a clue what they mean by "Improve SSD compatibility" ? :)
Btw, i have a kinda "huge" problem with my new P55A-UD6. It simply doesn't want to boot untill i remove all my USB devices... Everything i have now worked flawlessly on an Asus Maximus III Formula. I have done the upgrade convinced by a good friend of mine... and now i am actually afraid to shutdown or reboot my PC... as i have to open and take every USB out (with my 620W Enermax turned off). I've tried taking each of them out (i have arround 10 USB devices) but it's simply not booting up. All i can see is the lighted Power button on the motherboard flickering a little... Pressing it does absolutelly nothing. I am really out of ideeas... Thx for pointing out any kind of help !
The Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 Support SLi ??
Any word on when to expect the Rev 2 boards?
Gigabyte tech support told the P55A-UD3P Rev 2 is already available in the US. Anybody seen a Rev 2 board?
I want to ask you is working properly function CPU Smart FAN Mode [Voltage] driving the 3 pin fans.
