The event in Munich is indeed postponed for a week, it will be from 17th until 19th of July. The Mobo + VGA will very much likely be the Eclipse SLI and the N260GTX Lightning. Should anything change in this we will of course update you on this :)

NeoForce: I think you will have to contact your local MSI office. Unfortunately the office I work for does not cover Russia, so I do not know who won in your qualifiers.
The fail to mention the benchmarks for America. Is it still SPi 16M and 3DVantage for Phase I and II?
Rules are now up. Very interesting.
Phase 1 = Spi16m. Phase 2 = Nothing mentioned.
Top 2 Go to Beijing for Finals. Top 2 picks team mate to go with them. So not automatic for 1-4.

I was under the impression that you could use any brand parts for the online qualifier, is that not the case anymore? If so, I doubt many people are willing to buy a MSI X58 board to compete and results will likely be less then stellar.
That kind of happened with the last ASUS contest didn't it ?
Not that great of a turn out as many would have had to go out and purchase a ASUS board to be in the event. At least thats what kept me from being in it.
German online qualification done, I'll be in munich: MOA Germany
:D
See you there...:toast:
yeah :D See you there man !
@Deux that wasn't in france... only MSI mobo ;)
I emailed MSI US about it asking them to reconsider. I'll be stunned if they do, but it certainly can't hurt
Marco_MSI: I suppose you or someone you at least know is in charge of the nordics, where I competed in both Finland and Sweden, since I've got dual citizenships. I read at Muropaketti today and saw you'd make a decision tomorrow, which is fine, but why hasn't anybody tried to even contact me about it? That's my first and hopefully only issue. The second thing might become an issue, the rules in both countries clearly stated "Every citizen of <country> may participate", so I made a very literal interpretation of that and participated in both countries. Now, I hate to spill this out this openly, but it seems I have no other way of reaching you... I've spent €750 on three half-assed E8600 CPU's (yes, that's of my own money) and if I don't get something in return even though I've fully complied with the rules I won't be all too satisfied.
I just wanted to make it clear how I feel about this, if anybody would care. I hope I won't get disqualified over this and once again want to point out that I wouldn't have written this here if I'd have any other way of reaching you.
Finaly i have oficial results from MOA 2009 Czech and Slovak Qualify

Not the hardest competition here in Denmark...
http://peecee.dk/uploads/062009/MSI_DK_Finals.jpg
Hey Noxon.. great job :) Don't think US will be a cake walk :P
- Ton
I already got 2 tickets to Beijing.:)
Ah! So that was his plan! I wondered every time he said we were going to kick some butt. I didn't know he meant my butt :(
Now I see all those big names I'm :banana::banana::banana:ting my pants right now. Well, I'm looking forward to the EU finals and meeting the rest of the qualifiers. Very well done everyone
If you think the Danish qualifier was uneven, look at this, which is the Swedish result after I've been disqualified... I suppose crappy oc'ers (I'm harsh, I know) are more important to promote than those who at least come up with some half decent scores. The next time you do this, MSI, make sure to have clearer rules before you start the competition instead of wasting my time and money.

wtf you were disqualified in the country you live in now cos you have double citizenship in Finland and in Sweden... that does not make any sense msi really should have though this thing trough more.. ohh well i hope they wise up and get it right next time
 I won the 1st week Lords of Overclocking North America for Futuremark. Just received an email, my prize is.. an MSI X58 motherboard! Looks like I'm competing in at least the 1st round of the North America qualifier. I'm screwed on the 2nd round though, no GTX295s :(
Bummer dude, those scores are pathetic. A noob with an E8600 on single-stage could achieve them
Hifiking and myself will be joining from Norway.. see you all there :)
Yeah, it seems so. I met up with Sampsa last night, and even though he'd had a few beers he still made it pretty clear that MSI didn't like it. At least I got to pick which country to get disqualified in, which in this case is a pretty easy choice. I mean, what would you rather pick, a N285GTX SuperPipe OC or an X58 Eclipse when you've already got a Bloodrage? Sure I'd have both, maybe sell the mobo, but it seems I won't get that. I enjoyed the finnish competition way more as well, as it was a real competition with nice people in the Muropaketti forums, kudos to all competing finns.
The second placed dude used an i7 920, which in itself is pretty funny. The first two pages in the thread on the site that held the competition was mostly like "OMGLOLWTFBBQ, YOU WON'T STAND A CHANCE WITH THOSE WOLFDALES!!11 WAIT TILL SOMEONE WITH AN I7 POSTS SCORES, HAHAHAHA!". And now everybody's :banana::banana::banana::banana:ing about me competing in two countries, both in Finland and Sweden, or to be completely fair, it's been a week since the competition ended in Finland so they've sort of calmed down a bit. I don't see what the Swedes are on about though, with those scores... There was at least a few good scores in Finland, bearing in mind that not everyone can afford a GTX295 and a good CPU.
I've got three E8600's for sale, if anybody's interested... Turns out I couldn't afford three €250 CPU's either, really. :D
@ Mean Machine:
yeah, i don't really understand why people are complaining.
I think you got some pretty nice scores there, and you played fully by the rules, so i don't see any problems.
Good job! I hope it turns out in a positive way
The scores were decent, I probably could've done a bit better, but since neither you or crotale were going to compete and I knew elmor/Kinc had good CPU's, I was fried anyways, so I opted to just post my scores and cash in the prizes... It isn't finalized yet, but I suppose we'll hear more of this tomorrow when Sampsa hears from MSI.
I'm sorry you never got around to compete, a bit more competition would've been good for everybody, really.
Quick question. The US MOA has been posted, and it is two phases. In the rules, phase 1 is SuperPi 16M, which was stated in this this thread. There is no mention on the site what the Phase 2 bench will be. It was mentioned it will be Vantage, but all others MOA have beend 3DMark01. Can anyone confirm what USMOA Phase 2 bench will be?
- Ton
Was just poking around on the MOA site and found this
http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/8207/moard2.jpg
Surprised me, I could have sworn I saw Vantage mentioned somewhere on the site itself. Regardless, seems kinda odd to pick 16M and 32M given how similar they are, not to mention both being 2d. Least it means you don't need to buy 295s to be competitive
Edit: WTF, they are going to make us bench 32M on Vista?
The more I look at this the more is seems like it is supposed to be Vantage and they just wrote the wrong thing. First of all, Vista is required and second, further down the page it mentions PhysX enabled.
WTF?!?!? How lame is that.. I could have sworn it was Pi then 3d. But Pi then More pi? Very weird. I figure if you win 16m, you will win 32m. Its not like 1m vs 32m.
Here is the page that shows both phase. I really think its a typo on phase 2.
- Ton
Looks like the level of organisation is rather consistent all over the globe....
lol! Time to bone up on my SPi 32M benching. Looks like it is time to go shopping for a w3540.
Any Update Rules for SEA? there's no info yet for the benchmark in phase 1 and 2 at msi site until now....

Too bad they wont start Indian round :(

That's a shame, was hoping to see you in Beijing ;)
for italy????
Hi Bro,
How have u been? :)
India is part of SEA round.:D
http://www.oc-arena.com/SEA/rules.html
Are you able to take part?
Still no news about EU final benchmarks?
Not afaik. I did receive an email with the official invite to Munich but that only said we'll be benching with an Eclipse SLI and 260 Lightning. No word on the benchmarks or cpu/mem. I'll try getting in touch with my contact and see if she can clear things up a bit. This is starting to get a bit annoying.
OCZ Memory + 950 (+ Eclipse SLI + 260 Linghtning as Gendo wrote) is what is said in my invitation....Nothing about the benchmarks.
hahah 950 and Eclipse SLI? Yeaahhh great, 5000-5100 superpi/3d and 4900 for 06/Vantage :D Great EXTREME OVERCLOCKING!!!!!111one
I think it would be 965/975 and Eclipse Plus :)
I think eclipse plus & 975 will be use in Beijing ;)
Quick Note on US MOA - Rules have been updated.
http://www.oc-arena.com/AMNORTH/register.html
Phase 1 is still Spi 16m
Phase 2 has been updated from Spi 32m to 3DMark Vantage 1.01 (P-Score)
Check out the links for the detail and info on the points spread. Spi is worth more then 3DMark.
- Ton
Glad to see they updated the rules :)
Still somewhat unclear though, in the phase one section it still says 16M but in the scoring section it says 32M. Not a big difference prep wise, just would be nice to have it clarified.
for WW it'll probably be : Eclipse + / 975 XE / GTX 275 lightning
Hehe i have this informations from PR manager for Czech and Slovak republic, i havent any invitation :(
Good morning all,
just wanted to let you all know that the benchmarks for the EU finals should be announced today by your MSI contact. Hopefully they will meet your expectations :)
Ok here we go.. MOA 2009 EU Final benchmarks are:
SuperPi 1M & Aquamark3
:D
Oh ... nice choice!
I think that should be some 3DMark and not Aquamark (2001, eh?)
About SuperPi, 1M is ok, but for a "final", 32 will be better or not? :)
Here are the current top results with components:
Aquamark3 with GTX 260: http://www.hwbot.org/hardware/videoc...%20260%20216SP
SuperPi 1M with Core i7-950: http://www.hwbot.org/listResults.do?...true&limit=100
According to this interview http://total-oc.com/article.php?id=118 - from Russia will be guys, who will be chosen by local office =) (Cause winner doesn`t have passport to go ) No competition, no qualifiers =) Just selection. I`m very surprised.
I like the pictures from the French Event : http://total-oc.com/picture/img/d785...e/f_resize.jpg
i don't understand, msi MOA site says MSI HW (mobo and NV VGAs) but Kinc&Elmor used Asus HW
maybe it's a pre-selection?
Yep, Greeks and Belgians was also allowed to use Intel based mainboard, but not only MSI :) In France, it was only MSI Intel and nvidia graphics.
BTW, if the benchmarks are really 1M and AM3, it's a pity. The best CPU will win :(
Sorry to hear that Russian qualifications are everything but fair, i hope the participants will enjoy the event next month at least ^^
Damn
I really hope it's a joke, because we should have received a mail from MSI concerning these benchmarks, but nothing in my mailbox
absolutely bro. 2k1 and 32M would be much more competiton between the benchers, 1M and AM3 is about the hardwares we'll got. maybe for the final in Beijing they will think about it :)
btw congrats for all pre-selection/qualification winners, see you in few weeks guys!
I don't really think Sampsa would write such a thing if he wasn't sure of it.
Is Sampsa the only one that received an email? I know my contact is a slacker, for sure:yepp: I called her office 2 days ago and her co-worker left her a note with my phone number saying she had to call me back. Haven't heard anything since. Nor did I receive an email today. I'll just have to call her again tomorrow:shrug:
I got this information yesterday directly from my MSI contact in Messenger. Benchmarks were decided yesterday in a conference call between EU and Taiwan HQ.
Today I recive e-mail with the same information about benchmark like Sampsa. But maybe they will change them like last year.
C'mon guys; Aquamark3 will be fun as hell!
Cool!!! To make this perfect, they should provide SSD's with Vista x64 pre-installed, and only give you i920. That way, if you manage to make AM3 or PI actually work, at least you know that sooner or later the Firmware of the SSD will be flucked up by the high PCI-E needed to bench with high BCLK
Careful Monstru, someone from MSI may watch this and wouldnt understand the sarcasm and then all would kill you on site for this joke
wow 1M and AM3
what is wrong with these ppl
someone should slap them silly and tell them '01 and 32M :shakes:
Why is everyone so opposed to AM3? It's gonna be véry challenging!
Thrue massman, both of test is very fast and we have more time to tune the machines
