A little of evil's design inspired this one. 0.5mm channels 'Z' across the block, with decrease in channel height and clearance at the center for increased pressure and turbulence.

I haven't got a clue how to use kerkythea, barely know anything about sketchup, it snaps to everything all the time so I can't get real thin stuff sometimes, no idea what I'm doing.... but I managed to get this cheesy render out with some funky pink background
Now to see if I can figure out how to get real materials and a scene and all that :lol2:
Hard to tell but I actually got the edges for the O ring groove rounded on the outside :D
:banana::banana::banana: I jizzed in my pants after seeing that one metric........... It does look a bit on the shallow side. after working with evil's barbs I had to make mine considerably thicker to allow for them.........
After rendering, I realized that the ground plane I set up was clipping about half off the base off :S
Here's the correct one:

Those interested in a more 'hands on' viewing of my models, I'll start posting them as 3D PDF files as well. Here's one of my most recent: https://dl.getdropbox.com/u/2028/Xtr...s/XFlo_001.PDF
Please take time to rate this thread if you like what's being posted :)
This thread is amazing, absolutely stunning! Does anyone have any plans to put any of these into production, even as a one-off or limited edition?
Keep me drooling! ;)
Stop making renders of stuff that I then really, really want and can't have!
Ok, I admit it. I'm a junkie and can't stop checking in here even though I know it's going to break my heart.
:) i'm saving for a mill :) we need to see about getting this stickified.
Metric, go model some screws! you can pull almost any dimension for any kind screw you want off of mcmaster.com
im never doing a small run or a one-off ever again.. :( for personal use maybe. unless you have access to all the tools necessary its just doesnt make sense to
*Drools* PURE sexyiness :)
Cool render Evil, as always :)
I've tested my block, pretty happy with the tempretures while using my lousy computer :p:

I just sent a PM to Movieman about stickying this....
thats looks like a TJ-07 super sexy edition
btw could that fit 4 360 rads?
make it to take in one of them 560gtx's
STICKIED!! time to celebrate guys
congrats to the thread to be stickied !
loved all the idea which is show in this thread, and hoping manufactures out there will be looking and listen....and decide to make them....especially that LCS friendly case, made by Mick64....loves your creativity there mate
Totally deserves the sticky status!
Wahooooo sticky, first thread that i have had stickyied :) happy happy happy :)
@Mick64
Whats the maximum water cooling rads you can put in that ?
Ninja
wewt, grats to the sticky :D
First up, great news to see this thread stickied! Although, it would be nice to see the title changed to include other liquid cooling components. LOL
It would be possible to fit 2x 360 and 2x 480 in a rad sandwich configuration.
You still haven't asked the question padmon!
Thanks anubis!
I designed the case to take a 480 at the top and a 360 at the bottom, but as I've stated above, you could fit double that in a rad sandwich configuration.
LeChuck's benchtable....just Inventor rendering.
How can i use inventor files in other programs?

Oh yeah! Looking good, LeChuck!
Now I want one in red. :D
LeChuck you are going to have to ask evil :) i won;t try one of my dodge translation as you already know how bad they are :)
If manufactors look at this thread what good would that do, there only going to steal your idea, you have no TM, no Patent on them, there up for grabs.
New Thread Title is much better suited I think and gives more freedom to the designers:P
Ninja
how can you make clear plexi texture ?
What rendering program? If it is Kerkythea or how ever you spell it, you need to download the basic glass pack from the website :)
Which you can download here :).
holy :banana::banana::banana: mick....thats 1 hell of a case, i love it! and would certianly buy it! very nice work
The new title works for me  I even got my own tag :D
neo mike: I agree that, yes, none of us have trademarks or patents on our designs, and they would be free for the taking, but considering how much influence this community has on manufacturers, I would imagine it could really damage a company's customer relations if they were caught using a individual's design and considering this is an open and public forum - word would spread fast...
Yer i thought i would post some names underneath of the people who post the most renders, i would of liked to of done more but i had a limt of 5.
So if you want to add some go ahead
Agreed 100% plus i'm working on a nice boarder and label.
Lol, I was trying to find this thread today and didn't see it was stickied! Awesome :D
Here is something from a noob , first time using sketchup so no need to laugh >.<
i still don't know how to make screws or threads >.<
Great first attempt warmage :)
wow, that's way better than my first 3d anything attempt (which, admittedly was about... 13 years ago, but still, same basic tools)
thats one hell of a first attempt. good job

^^Glad I could help...:D
@emir: das much bettah . Doesn't hurt my eyes looking at some weird Google Earth pic of what looks to be rome or the vatican....
looks really good emir! well done!
emir are those blocks made already?
Em1r. Realy good bro. Congratz ;)
very nice emir :) looks great
k well after much much trial and error i finally got a render which i was some what happy with.... lol its taken me a while to get everything figured out so far... i changed up the mounting plate from my last design and removed the 'flow plate' and decided that the top could manage the job just fine..... well here it is.....
http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/4971/r5done.jpg
i also did an acrylic render but.... the holes i made look crummy cause its an incredibly low polygon count leaves sharp edges =\ ...so ill save the acrylic for my next block....
this is the last render of this block as it was my first and a tester ;) .... should be easier now that ive got some of the tricks down :P .....also.... if anyone is willing to lend me a model of those bits power fittings that would be amazing... i tried to make some for my self but they just dont look right..... would be much appreciated :)
purty
You should make that thing out of a diamond, now THAT would be blingy.
I'll choose Rome :D
Thanx guys :)
Just CPU block, others will be made this week i guess.
Thanx bro, still waiting you to made them
Looking forward to seeing the rest of ure blocks made emir... to bad we cant see more of the ones in here produced.... =\
anyway... heres a little something i slapped together last night, finished up the rendering just now... sketchup kept crashing when i tried to export it... i think its because i used to many faces... anyway, well see how much further ill be able to get it before i cant ever export it... lol.....

Seems to have got very quite around here since this thread was stickied....
Me and NaeKuh (was) busy :(, ermm, i haven;t really got any free time to next week :)
Topic is dying :p:

GPU block :D
http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/1701/26098360.jpg
that looks real. nice job.
I cant afford Maxell... I'm trying to source it through my university though
Great first render with Maxwell emir, good choice on the lighting and materials, my only issue is that the inner bore on the barbs needs more polygons (it's octagonal rather than circular)
I'll probably put up a poll later if this gets passed and approved by Bei, but here's a teaser:
