@ Kean
my E8200 did max. 550FSB for SuperPi 1M on P35 Chipset (P5K-E & Foxconn Mars P35) and
556FSB for a validation.
On the P5Q-Deluxe did the same CPU 605FSB for SuperPi 1M and 615FSB for a validation.
what is the highest fsb for P5Q3 Deluxe so far using 0702 bios?
FSB 625.23Mhz so far , here bro - http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...69#post3053369
Chri$ch: can you share whit us your bios seting for 615? tnx
I have problems whith pci-e frekfency. 100 work fine, every thing higher non boot. I see in setfsb pci-e is 125(bios 100).
my result with water cooling:D
What's the best you guys are getting on Air?
Amasing Result again Venom... any chance to fill in my Template (link below) I could get the QX9650 at 500FSB, but think the 4gb killed it's stability as I needed to run 1:1... Hope to test with my Gskills HZ this weekend which run 1200Mhz too...
Link of my template :http://users.pandora.be/OAP/P5QDlx/P5Q%20Dlx.rtf
wow! and you get this fsb with Bios 0506, try with 0702 :D
Hi first post here , has anyone tried a xeon in this board yet ? I have an x3360 already and my P5Q should be here friday . I didn't see any xeon's on the supported list although they are just a Q9550 with 2 added instructions . I've been reading about this board for a while and having had nothing but bad experiences with 780i's I decided to go back to an intel chipset .
I just got my P5Q Deluxe set up last night with X3350 (same as q9450). It works very well. With only a few minutes of tweaking (thanks to the advice and bios files posted by others in this thread  ) I was at 480 FSB OCCT stable on air. That's already about 10 mhz higher than the max I've achieved for this chip on other boards and I know it will go higher once I get a chance to spend more time with the board. First impression is, this is a golden board for 45nm quad. :D
Think the 0702 bios will work with the vanilla P5Q? Asus's site has 0 updates. I ordered one a minute ago and will do some testing. NM pretty sure they wont :(
Sweet thanks , I can't wait to run my chip on this board . I had it running @456x8.5 24/7 and my latest 780i failed after 5 days making a high pitched squeal and then a sizzling sound lol what a pos ! The cpu seems ok still , the board did boot again at stock settings but it was really unstable .
@Venom-Crusher: Would be great if you tell us your voltages. I've a yorkie right here too but i cant get em over 480.
Nobody can test a over with diferent 1:1 fsb/ram??
high fsb and diferent 1:1, with more frequency of memory than cpu
thanks
Do the MOSFETS on these boards get really hot? I was thinking of getting the PRO model, but it doesn't have any sinks on the FETs.
'fet sinks usually do more harm than good due to poor application and board warping due to poor heatsink installation methods.
NCIX finally got these in stock.
I ordered one (the P5Q Deluxe).
It should arrive right before or around GTX 280/260 launch. :D
here in brazil, the p45 not avaiable yet :(
and when it will avaiable, it will much expensive...
I will have to wait some days for buying
Can somebody post good P5Q3 bios settings for around 500MHz FSB for wolfdale?
Mainly voltages and GTL settings.
I´m strugling with this board.
P5Q Dlx has backplates on the mosfets heatsinks, no warping anymore, Asus finally took care of their bad mounts... Tried with the stock heatsinks and now back on water... board is as rigid as can be
I'll check Mosfet Temp Looser777 for ya (will switch off my 25 cm sidepanel fan)
Board is now $199 with free ups 3Day @egg.:D
i can get only 570 for now..
http://valid.x86-secret.com/cache/banner/374305.png
is there any ram divider works better rather than the 5:6 ?
The screws of the mosfets heatsinks come off easilly ?
Hi guys , most of you are multiple mobo owners , do you prefer this to a 790i ? I have only had mine a week and am already looking at making a move as this baby looks like its got the right stuff .
Niz - did you find your info ? There are a few in this large thread but its looking good mate .
.
I played another time, this is max under air for this cpu:

PL its ??
Performance Level
ohhh... new toys arrived :D

@Chri$ch
It's great stuf there mate :)
I will get the P5Q DLX as soon as it is released here in Egypt but I will have to sell my Foxconn MARS
No new bioses ? :D
I just ordered the P5Q3 deluxe from newegg, will be here soon......ill see how it does with my Q9450 and report back.
If someone with P5Q series could have a look here and compare how P5Q series looks like compared to M2F, it would be nice! :)
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...9&postcount=36
and the P5Q-E ?
sorry guys,
what are the differences between p5q pro deluxe and premium?
thanks
Got my Precious Gskills in the rig doing some tests at 1200mhz ram to determine the performance level
With 400FSB I can get 6 performance level
http://users.pandora.be/OAP/P5QDlx/400-1200.JPG
Will do 500FSB in a bit
Validation already :) Damn I love this board
http://users.pandora.be/OAP/P5QDlx/4500-1200.JPG
With 500FSB Performance level 8 with ram at 1200Mhz
http://users.pandora.be/OAP/P5QDlx/500-1200.jpg
I see the vcore increase from 400x10 to 500x8 is that really required or you set it "just in case"?
Anyway, by this results we see that the P45 is not that bad as some people said and low PL is doable :D
I'll have mine by tomorrow so keep us up to date with results and bios settings when possible.
Leeg can you post NB, PLL etc. voltages for 500FSB Performance level 8 with ram at 1200Mhz?
So far it has been interesting.
I was able to hit 8x450FSB using 2x1GB 5-5-5-15-3-25 PL7 & 400FSB Strap but was not able to keep it prime stable. The highest FSB I was able to keep stable w/ the same timings and 2 sticks was 440 but for 24/7 this is what I stuck with:
I there a pencil mod for Vcore on this board? With Loadline Disabled there's a ~.08V difference between Idle and Load. I would like to shoot for 9x425MHz but it would take >1.4V for me to do it w/ LLC disabled. It would be nice to cut the difference in half since I don't like enabling LLC, especially above 1.3V.PHP Code:

As for 4x1GB sticks I was unable to do anything worth while. It took PL10 just to boot into windows @ a 400FSB Strap & 1066MHz using 5-5-5-15-3-42 timings but errored out of Prime w/in 3 minutes.
Can someone tell me a functional nbv range on this board w/ 4 sticks of RAM?
I'm currently testing my 2x2GB OCZ FlexII's. They seem a little more well behaved than 4x1GB Cell Shocks.
I was unable to get them to run on the 400 Strap which was the case when using them on my DFI x48 board so I am currently using the 266 Strap. I have a feeling that I will need to delve into DRAM Clock Skew if I want to reach anything close to 1066MHz.PHP Code:

If anyone has any tips on how to run 4x1GB sticks at a decent performance level on this board let me know.
There wasn't an option to delete the vdroop?
What is the function of Load Line Calibration??
My test P5Q3 DLX does not boot with anything over 480MHz :(
I´ll think that it is those GTL voltages or just bad board.
Tried AUTO for all voltages first except Vcore and RAM ? I just set PLL voltage then ( need 1.6 to be stable ), reboot, posts, save to OC profile, set FSB Term voltage, reboot, post, save to OC profile,... hope you get my drift... can take a long time to find the lowest working voltages but it iwll be rewarding in the long run... though I don't like to run these expensive CPU's at 500FSB daily... I drop to 400FSB again for daily use...
I have never used more PLL voltage than 1.5V.
Seems like board is not posting if NB voltage is over 1.3V
Edit:
I´m trying first to get 9x445MHz stable with X3110(E8400).
And I raised first CPU GTL to 0.715 and it did help alot.
anyone have issues with 400MHz strap?
I am having major issues with E7200 and 400MHz strap, will not play nice together.
Q9450 and 400MHz strap are fine.
Makes no sense, 333MHz strap is fine with E7200, currently at 440MHz FSB (4.2GHz CPU) with no issues.
8 doesn't seem to be be prime stable, also Superpi crashed around iteneration 8, PL 9 brought solution there, maybe also some more NB volts would have done the trick...PHP Code:

Anyone here running a Q9450 on this board? What's the max you're hitting on Air? Can anyone tell me what kind of max temperatures I should be keeping in mind when OC'ing the Q9450 on this board?
Thanks!!
Yes, 530MHz seems to be maximum out of this P5Q3 dlx, and it needs 1.56V for NB voltage.
And it wond even post at 1600MHz or faster memory speeds.
Edit:
Memory issue solved by disabling DRAM Static Read Control.
my p5q3 is also from china (rev 1.02G)
can boot an e8500 at 600 fsb - not tried stability
for 600 fsb i found i only needed 1.34/1.36V for the NB, and playing with the NB gtl helped
500 fsb with the dual seems like a breeze and only needed approx 1.26V set for NB and fsb term, with 1.5v for pll and a 0.615x nb gtl
messing with a q6700 atm, finding it a little harder to push the fsb without tweaking things, and voltage levels need to be a little higher
i dont know why, but my P5Q3 need ~1.36v NB voltage for only 400FSB...
my P5Q Dlx can prime 550FSB with 1.4v NB voltage (dont test with lower voltage)
Max FSB i can boot with P5Q3 is 550FSB @ 1.60v NB voltage and this only with
1:1 divider
Some E8500 action... indeed with P5Q Dlx 600FSB out of the box is a breeze... CPU stability is there though need to tweak some ram settings to get it stable there...

how much nb voltage need it?
1.5NB only :Screenshot is small FFT's Chrisch, but it's not blend stable , superpi 32mb stopped to, so I need some guru that can guide me through these Skew settings... (C'mon EVA2000 you can do it )
How much voltage to northbridge??
and the voltage of cpu on the bios, how much??
ok, only small ffts... i test large ffts for mainboard stability and gtl settings :)

Okay, the over is not stable but I just want to have any reference
I have almost setup like you, but P5Q-E (0702), and QX9650 with Scynth Ninja plus.
however every time i try to OC i get no POST and need clear cmos.
I'm familier with P5B-DLX OC, but here its so diffrent, can you give me guide lines please ?
Well, I've used some hours tweaking Skew. There is one skew setting for eatch DIMM. On my ballistix 200ps delay was the best setting, but this may be different for your system. You simply have to test all settings for finding the best. When it comes to nb and cpu skew, I've not tweaked these yet.
Guys, with the latest bios, what version number do y'all have with regards the embedded Intel Matrix RAID option bios ROM?, 8.5.0.xxxx etc?...any version number for the Jmicron ROM?
BIG 25Cm fan in the sidepanel mate and WC for the CPU...
Try these settings first mate... your CPU prolly can do 3.6Ghz lower than 1.3Vcore but some have really bad ones so if you know it can do 3.6Ghz at 1.2 set 1.2 then instead off 1.30... once you get this stable you can up the multi and add more Vcore... and tweak RAM... but do it all one step at a time and use the OC profile... if it posts save it to the profile, set abother setting, save and reboot if it posts save again to the profile... it needs some time to adjust from 965 to P45...PHP Code:

Help Guys!!
I just setup my system, and after the usual bios post (where it tells you CPU, RAM & Bios stuff), it goes to this:
"Marvell 88SE61xx Adapter - BIOS Version 1.1.0.L70d
Initializing."
And it's stuck there!!! I can't even get into BIOS. Even if I hit "DEL to enter Setup" - it goes to this and gets stuck!!!
Help!
Pull out one Dimm, unhook all drives (HD, DVD, etc) and try again... if it doesn't post completely don't reset, just pull the power cable... wait a few secs and then try to boot again...
Tony have you tried the OCZ FlexII 2x2GB kit on this board?
Just put together a P5Q dlx with a 8400 wolfe and the thing won't boot :(
put in one stick of ram in the yellow slot nearest to CPU and have a single card in the PCI slot
have a new ZM1000-HP power supply.
everything powers up but the GPU fan just goes full blast and doesn't post :(
now since I bought a Lainli case the 8pin CPU power won't reach but I used a 4pin extender that came with the case.
I talked to a buddy he said it should power up on a 4pin plug and the 8pin had 1/2 coved via a plastic cover.
any ideas on what to do??
Define single card in the PCI slot, so not a PCI -E card ? did you try the mobo outside of the case ?
Guys, I'm organizing the last details of the import of my P5q deluxe, and I have some questions.
How much voltage on northbridge, fsb, and cpu pll voltage i will need to set 450mhz of fsb with a 8x divider?? with my cpu (E6750)
PS: Don't need to be exact numbers, i wan't just a suggestions!
what is the options of memory divisor with this fsb?
thanks!
mobo in case will remove shortly
tried my old OCZ 520 and same results
tried my old X1800 and same results
Nvidia PNY - 8800GT in blue PCI
Can you mount a CPU wrong LOL Iam removing mobo see if that clears it up let you know.
Thanks for this helpfull tip !!!:up::up:Quote:

not sure what to do
took the mobo out and the case intrusion jumper was off
replaced that and still no boot
took mobo out
GPU powered, Ram installed 24pin powered , 4 pin powered = no boot
replaced 8400 with e6700 no boot
has to be something simple Iam missing or its bad out of the box
Iam going to try my P5W mobo with the 8400 and see if that will boot
