Looks like Bank Interleave is responsible for that boost.
CCC, i take it that post isn't yours since you quoted it but do you know how much difference there is between 2x1GB and 4x1GB?

yeah not mine :)

Conclusion:
With the higher divider 950 MHz with 2x1024 at loop #4 and 12 with same os settings no copy waza it’s slower at 571x7 than with 4gig at the 913 MHz ram speed divider so with a good copy waza on both I can’t see the 2 sticks winning out
but overall because 4gig is limited on my board on air cooling to about 920mhz 7-6-5-1t, and 8-7-6-18-1t at 940mhz or so before going to 2t I’m sure a properly calibrated 2 stick system will always win out top end, but goes to show what the RE and 4 good sticks can do depending on the fsb+divider+overall MHz your allowed
BTW:
Everest at these settings is 12,900 - 13,025 incase anyone was wondering

would be unreal speed if 7-6-6/7-6-5 would run, but considering its 4gig
at 1t its not so bad ;)

Hi guys, i post some scores what i make this week-end

Really nice runs! What abaout MAXMEM and CopyWAZA??? :)
Alex
Copy waza makes with 3470mb size files between my Raptor 74Go and my second hard drive Seagate 320Go 16mo SATAII. Maxmem was set to 600. :)
For the 8X500 DRAM 1:2, i use 266 strap with performance level 6 direct from the boot and the Ai Clock Twister set to strong. For this, i most set 1.84vNB to finish the superPi32M :D
I think i can reach 10.51s for 4Ghz frequency if i can set PL7 with 7X572 DRAM 900 settings (i have made 10.54.540s with this settings and PL8) or if i can use 4GB of memory. So, i need some cold on my Northbridge and 2 more sticks of RAM :D
Thank you very much for the info! I tried with 3470mb file and maxmem 580-600-620 paging 512-512 but no gain....only 4 seconds boost with Copy Waza. How much did you get with CW?
Tnx
Alex
I win around 3~4s with CW, and around 0.7s with maxmem set to 600 ;)
The good maxmem value depends of your OS. I use Windows XP Pro 32Bits tweaked by me (I give a name to this OS: Extreme-OC-OS :D) also it's always the same value for all SuperPi 32M :D
You can actived the "largesystemcache" key also (regedit), and kill one big parts of "services", like "spooler.exe, the greatest svhost, and the explorer.exe also. You can reduce the Window of SuperPi to win 0.2s also.
I clock all the time with no svhost and explorer.exe service, it's make better scores and stability.
When i launch the superPi, the system pagnition weighs only 44Mbs ;)
I set the priority to "core1" and realtime time mode.
Ok thank you! 3-4", the same lik mine scores...somebody told me that it's possible to get 7-8 and 12 seconds on 4 GHZ :S, I don't know...I have about 8-10Mb difference between Cahce and mem after waza...Wha do yo uahve (Gautam and dai1stm)??
Tnx
Alex
congrats Dam, very motivating ;)
Yes indeed that time is FAST, dami1stm!!
Don't have a real good set of DDR3 ram but will try my best and get back now that I have a RE.. I think its mandatory to post some Pi32M numbers :D
So, I begin the serious things... :D

I don't think this deserves it's own thread but for some reason I think my time is not that good :/ I listed most tweaks I used. Priority @ realtime, core1. Defragged a couple times. Quite clean install, not very light tho.
Any tips? :)
@dami1stm: Crazy run man, fast, TOO fast !
@Delex: 10m58s @ 4050Mhz is a great run, considering you are a starter ;) When you have the ability to pull of 10m58s @ 3.95 - 4GHz your tweaking skills will be awesome ! ;) Use Luna theme btw, it's faster for SPi ;)

Thank you Zeus :)
Wow Toyten, you are on a roll mister  :D
Crazy fast run !
But you don't play fair, you have some nice piece of memory as your faithfull assistant :D What brand are they ? How much Vdimm ?
As soon as I have finish the tests of Nehalem I am going to start again bench some Superpi 32m.
I aim at the first places or ex-eaquo everywhere ^^
EDIT: At 3556Mhz i make 12.00.015s ^^
2.26Vdimm is a lot yeah ! But, supposing your ram-cooling solution keeps them at low temperature and that you are a little bit lucky, everything is going to be just fine :) ;)
Seems to me unfair though :( Now that I've found some nice piece of DDR2 (Crucial Ballistix PC8500 2G kit) benching SPi 32M @ ~640MHz (1280MHz DDR) 4-4-4-4 1T @ 2.65Vdimm @ 12cm delta fan constantly blowing un-limited air on 'em, you found that DDR3 kit :D

Yeah, very beautiful time for the frequency
Newbeetle-san can I ask you sth ? From your testing, and when it comes to SPi 32M + Windows Server 2k3, what's the fastest theme ? Luna or Windows Classical ? :)
I can also see, that you chose to use, a MaxMem value that is equal or maybe bigger than ~640MB ...
why is there setfsb with frequency looking to be tuned down?
alright, i have stayed away from this thread as every time i update the results, i spend an afternoon or more working on times of mine...and i am too busy to play around with 32M right now :D
needless to say, i did an update today and of course had to defend a time slot. @ToyTen & dami1stm, crazy nice work gents.
this one i am having trouble touching, nice work buddy
interesting, thanks for the heads up. i am on 0501 right now but will give 0401 a shot to see what the difference is. now for my single update...

my G.Skill HZs seem to be on their way out so i am having to bench at a lofty 58 tRFC as the Ballistix just can't run the 4x's that my G.Skills could. this puts me behind the 8 ball but finding another dual channel kit of DDR3 at this point just isn't worth the time or money...bigger and better things are already in the mail ;)

Hey Jody :), grats on your scores mate ! Crazy fast ! :yepp:
Can I ask you sth ? You think that SP3 is faster than SP2 as far as XP + SPi 32M are concerned ? And moreover, since you're on XP, what theme is that ?
thanks George, but they could be much quicker if my G.Skills were still cooking.
i honestly don't know if SP3 is faster, i would imagine it all comes down to the rest of the OS tweaks. i basically had to re-do my whole 32M OS yesterday to catch these cats running tRFC of 45. i simply integrated SP3 because it was there, didn't really give much thought to it. i also completely changed my CW that seems to work really well with this new OS setup. my old CW isn't quite as fast using ERAM...this new one that the above runs are on don't use ERAM like in my screencast.
the theme in the screenshots is just windows classic with some color changes and size changes for tighter screenshots. i change to that theme just for the screenshots, i run SPi with a different theme.
Well, I always thought that SP2 was faster than SP3 ... I mean, I'm not just walking around saying that, I've done my share of tests and it seems that the outcome of 'em was that SP2's better than SP3 ... But yesterday, I benched SPi 1M & 32M with an old-mighty P4 3GHz Northwood + some nice mushkin bh5 (I missed those old farts :p:), using a 90MB WinXP + SP3 installation I already had in that hdd ... At 3300 I did a 41.028sec with XP+SP3, when with XP+SP2 my fastest was 41.043sec ... (same nLited chopped-off stuff, just different SP) ... 32M was like a second faster with SP3 ...
Now I don't know, why on earth that happened, and even more why this thing didn't occur to me the last time I tested SPi with SP2/SP3, but I kind of think that it has to do with the OS ... Last time both installations were at ~160MB ... Maybe, the more you tweak your OS, the more the SP impact can be observed :) I didn't use a 65/45nm cpu, because SP impact on 1M can't be really told in ~15 seconds ... But when it's 40 seconds, you can clearly see the difference ;) I need to test more thoroughly though ...
For my 1M runs, I used : 512MB CDT-IV (128KB single file size), no MM
For my 32M runs, I used : 4096MB CW (old nicely done, c spi + OS hdd, d pagefile hdd (512-512), copied from c ---> d, d ---> c, c ---> d), 640MB MM
i tested the new i920 CPU on Gigabyte X58-UD5 board
it makes these current numbers look depressing
it's just so ridiculously fast it is not funny
4.2GHz i920 does the same time as 5.7GHz E8600 faints
Ooops, I pressed 7 instead of...5 :D sorry :p:
I was just kidding, and expecting you to "bite" :D
However, I might just get one 7GHz chip this week, I'm going to buy some E8600's this Thursday.
lol you had me going there for a sec hahahah
stock nehalem 920 CPU gets sub 12m lol
CPU frequency was 2833MHz during the run
http://img386.imageshack.us/img386/1...ithxmppqv6.png
Jesus, stop insulting all the other users who are still messing with 65nm/45nm CPUs :D (yeah, I'm still playing with a bunch of 65nm cpus ... :p:, and Bill will soon buy some more E8600s :D)
Nehalem rocks, ok we got that :D :ROTF:
j/k dinos :) ;)
P.S. Bill will probably buy like 10 E8600s ... Dinos what do you say ? ... 50$ that none of them will be able to pull off an SPi 256K run @ 6100MHz ... :D You 're in or ? :D  :ROTF:
Hi all, is it possible to have good results here on a XP Pro SP3 without making it lighter with nLite ? (never tried that software) just by tweaking it in msconfig ?
I wonder why I just can't approach the 1st places of the 11 TimeZone. I'm still using the sp2 of my XP Pro(which isn't lightened with nLite precisely). Also I boot arround 580, maybe I should try booting seen upper in this page ? Many things making that low clock bench very interesting
just benching the 920 chip at 4.6GHz
i'm 3 seconds shy of sub 8m category
that is scary indeed

nice run dinos! good ram speed/timings for 920 dividers
Toyten you have to lower a bit your cpu clocks, so that you climb up in 11.xx category ;)
Dinos, great run man  920 @ 4650MHz on Single Stage benching SPi 32M is  What's the max frequency this 920 can reach ? Max 1M ?
@George_o/c:
I just.. do not know how to stabilise the computer with thoses settings(I tried 3 days ago the last time ...) no go for me on a P5E3 nor a RE...
Can't get to know why:ROTF::( me ??(hoping I still can find howto :) )
You need to mess with REX for a lot of time, so that you get to reveal the beast inside her :yepp:
Start with some guides on various internet sites (overclock.net, overclockers.co.uk off the top of my mind), and the most important for SPi 32M ... Play with various BIOSes ;)
Forget all about P5E3, and mostly focus on REX for fast SPi 32M runs :) My gosh, I've told you before but can't resist, your ram kit is superb !
one more BIOS to test I think at this point: 0401. only got her 5 days ago and working/living a normal guy's live so time misses as you know.
I got 10Mhz fsb, from 620PL9(P5E3) to 630 PL9 using the REX on 32M (0501):
http://images1.hiboox.com/images/490...28c759979b.jpg
NB and CPU water cooled ambient like 20°C NB was at 38°C (reading LCD poster)
I still can find out because I have so many things to discover about HDD, OS, timing in execution of the bench its steps, ...
I'll look for those sites you propose thx. I never went there atm ;)
And this DDR3 is comfortable I know, but are they that bad :p: no idea  i tell you
Belive me your ram kit is pretty damn' special ;) A lot of guys wish to have one like that one :) (including me :D)
LOL, I need to get some sleep dinos :p: Well, it's good that you can run with such a QPI clock SPi 32M
Well, what's the max benchable frequency for 1M, and what's the max of this cpu with higher multi - lower QPI clocks ? :)
I've seen two great 920s ... yours and Criminal's ;)

Well, I don't know the chips of it tbh. They behave very similar to 14400 D9GTR (Cell Shock too), but with more OCeability
I know a few happy guys more lucky with better one:yepp: crazy D9GTS/T or ??
Some times I need over 2,26vDDR :( (well cooled be sure of that ;) ) and never got over 2,30 atm... I don't dare with air cooling on it.
Yes they are GTR. I never went over 2.11v (too scared to lose them), which is probably why you can run such tight timings. I love the 5:8 strap on this mobo for CL7 clocks. What NB voltage are you running?
there you go. but as it was only a test, I didn't tweaked my mem's
http://images2.hiboox.com/images/500...54fe79f0d1.jpg
Wow, PL 8 at 620MHz FSB ! Great
Thx, I just received a particular setting to apply and it went ok this time
Dino, Nice run! Good CPU!!
ToyTen... awesome RAM and board :D
i think we will see sub 8 minute below 4.5GHz once the RAM clocks are right and all subtimings are tweaked fully :)
Excellent run toyten  I think you can get sub 10 with a little more FSB + mem tweaks.
Thank you Dsjjang :)
As I try pushing furtherer, I only got this targetting Time Zone 7:
http://images4.hiboox.com/images/500...3adda44a34.jpg
'need another coef and another cooling on this quest I guess :D
Nice run man  Well, you'll need about 5900MHz for 7m59sec ;)
try less :D
5800MHz, and that's my last offer :p:
ok guys:D i'll try from 5700Mhz going up til I pass under 8min.
I could do almost 2sec less at the same cpu frequency(from previous post).
http://images1.hiboox.com/images/500...8b9eaf3704.jpg
I will try 600x9,5 ram 5:8 7-6-5-15 upping the fsb and probably relaxing the timings if I have to.
You are on singlestage on that runs ?
3oh6, if you read this I try to reach your score at the same cpu clock: 10mn00s791 for the "9" Time Zone, and can't seem to defeat it... loll
a little help to acheive this might be helpfull:ROTF:
Is it the perf mode of appearence of windows that gave you the thing ? Or setting some thing different than 600 but close from it for the maxmem ?
btw, did you tested the 0401 BIOS ? I guess you "might" be on i7 already;)
Ok, I got this, trying to get the pole for 2 days now :p: I got a good feeling of competition
Couldn't get that Time Zone with less fsb, Ram timings are tightend as can be

sorry guy, haven't had much time at all to dip into the forums...i just really wish e-mail notification on this thread would work, then i would know when there are posts.
when it comes down to hundreds of a second in 32M, it could be anything. 32M isn't something that if you run on two setups with the same setting will provide the same results. the OS plays such a huge role in results. there are specific tweaks but even those will produce different results based on the 'tweakedness' (yeah i just made that up) of the OS. for my sub 10min run, i used 680 Maxmem (it is given away in my module size in CPU-Z Memory tab).
i believe the key to that run though was my CW, it was a newer version of my process that i was playing with and got a few tenths that way. as for 0401, i tried it with another time slot but wasn't able to get any quicker results. it might be dependent on the settings being ran where it shows up faster
790GX ;) & i7 & RE still &...790i again soon, but i need a good E8600!!! anyone got one for sale?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...i/round2-1.jpg
Thank you for disponibility as i don't expect one to answer faster than what you did. :)
Thank you also for explaining that way the "howto" acheive thoses scores, I'm deeply grateful to for this thread and advices you provide to the community as I hope my posts do show.
About the Maxmem, i did try the 680 and a nlight'end XP Pro sp3 as you. My os(my first) weight about 167Mo on CDRom and is only made for Super Pi. I did a good one I think, but lets say, there might be too much things removed, I don't know really...
You did not used the olive green theme for that score didn't you ? any tip on resolution (if that mattered) for the bench itself ?
Thanx, good luck for upcoming benches and take care ;)
no problem, glad you appreciate the information. this thread is pretty much just a 32M SPi tweaking thread with a results list to go along with it, many guys have helped this thread provide information so that is why i kept it going from Coop's original great thread.
yeah i run olive green Luna theme for benching then switch to classic to save a little bit of screenshot size. as for resolution, i keep it at 1680x1050. at times i have benched with no drivers so sometimes resolution is at 1280x1024 but i honestly don't have the testing done whether or not GPU drivers installed/not installed helps. i know installing ATI drivers slows things down because of the amount of memory they eat, not sure about NVIDIA drivers though.
i don't need luck, but i'll take it...i need 34 hour days :D
I also run SPi with no VGA drivers installed ;) Not any particular reason, I just remember of reading that in one of hipro's posts (no VGA drivers installed) so I gave it a try, and I was faster than my SPi runs with ATi drivers :p: Minutes after that incident, I learned that ATi drivers really "destroy" SPi calculation time ...
As for nVidia drivers, I know that some guys have them installed but a bit chopped, instead of completely un-installed :) Anyway, I need it test more thoroughly so that I can come to a 100% right conclusion :)
Olive Luna theme works for me great for SPi 32M, but not that great for 1M ... With my SPi benching OS (85MB XP+SP2 - that's my full stable one, 'cause all the others I have that are even lighter, for example one in 75MB do not work that well :(), the best theme for 1M is Silver Luna ;)
Jody we appreciate all the information provided, keep them coming mate
Oh, almost forgot, ToyTen check your PMs :)
thx George, got it.
I hope you own oneof these REx, there is a goodie in your MP, that i actually use myself at the moment :)
bye
You're doing well ToyTen.... ;) :D
Yes NO VGA drivers for me either....PCI VGA OR BEST a bit older PCI-E VGA with Windows' default VGA drivers for it..... ;)
I tried the sub 4000MHz yesterday when I was warming up my CPU after an LN2 benching session I had, and I was doing 658MHz FSB x 6 = 3950MHz with rams 2:3 = 987MHz......
It was dumn FAST and without any CopyWaza thing.....Just flat run..... :D
I'll re bench it though cuz I quit it due to start reaching ++ temperatures on my CPU....
Thank you hipro5, but unno, don't speed up this bench soo much :p:
658 fsb... So the inerty(?) of LN² wasn't enought to keep cpu at reasonable t°C till the end of the 32M ? dommage, it would have been quiet interesting in many ways.
I'm actually testing a 2K8 server "Standart", I'm completely lost in it's services/processes  anyway I like it, hope to see your result soon:)
