I just called ZZF customer service and spoke to a guy and he told me after looking at real time availability that i got my order in in time last night before they sold out and that they were expecting a shipment today. He said i should have my tracking number by tonight. He said the rest are on pre-order now after they sold out last night. I don't know if that is accurate or not but we'll see!

Yeah, my Tiger Direct order downgraded to "all on backorder", so I cancelled it and ordered an e6600 from ClubIT, claimed to be in stock, it's retail, free shipping, and only $339, so even if it's not in stock and I have to wait, it's cheaper, and not OEM.

Clubit States on their site all core 2 duo processors will be shipped august 7th, I myself put an order in with them too.

If you're building a rig for gaming and trying to watch how much you spend then i would skip the E6600 and 150GB raptor and go with like a Seagate 320GB 7200.10 and an E6300/E6400 and invest in a Crossfire board and dual graphics because that will offer the far best gaming performance.Quote:

The 27th was the date C2D was released to OEM builders/retailers to allow them time to build systems for the 7th Aug , the OEM builders have signed contracts not to release CPU's to retail customers. Their allowed to advertise systems but can't release before the 7th. OEM's who do release C2D before the 8th will face penalties.Quote:

Recieved my e6400 tracking number from Tiger. No tax, $304 out the door including overnight shipping, will have it tomorrow.
Just a place-holder for Kentsfield anyway, that's how I rationalized going with the 6400 instead of the 6600 I originally wanted, lol.
If I only knew what BLTs situation was exactly. I don't want to wait until the 7th, but I will wait until say...the 1st or 2nd.
EDIT: Two people with tracking numbers on the E6400...I'm tempted to hit checkout right now.

Hopefully, we'll have ours around them as well. As I mentioned on our forum, I'll likely spring for overnight or 2 day shipping from my suppliers (once they finally have them) so that we'll have them quicker, and can thus re-ship to customers quicker. I know how excited everyone is!

Just got off the phone with TigerDirect and they said they would not have the shipment in till next week. So all you people thinking you'll have it before the release date announced by Intel are a little too assuring.
I got an order in for an E6300 last night at ZZF but i just grabbed an E6600 from ClubIT for $339 shipped as well. Hopefully my E6300 will ship tonight so i'll have something to play with till the E6600 gets here.

anyone with tracking number from TD check it recently? is it moving? it is possible that they issued a tracking number even tho it hasnt been shipped. it would say something along the lines "billing info recieved" or "shipping details received" when you track it via the website.
...its happened to me before, and the item proceeded to ship like 4 days after i recieved the tracking number... that would be nothing short of cruel and unusual torture if they did that till august 7th...

I also have a shipping number on Tiger Direct. What usually happens is all tracking numbers will go out at same time, I have had it where it doesn't update till the following day. Overnight is weird and most companies dispatch shipping numbers long before they will actually physically be in the hands of the UPS person. Billing information recieved means they did the billing electronic. These may be scheduled physically with a UPS person.
