ignore the temp as long as it's stable ;)
I can prime at 80+c core temp and the big typhoon isn't near warm
Wow, that's really high, even to me! Don't you risk frying anything with those temps?Quote:

After the computer has "warmed" up, it will boot and run fine. But when i let it cool about an hr or so, it wont boot and the DS3 resets the settings and boots back in stock. has anyone had this happen? i have a week 26, i think it should go past 450. I dont think its the ram either, maybe it is? any suggestions?
UPDATE: it is not the CPU, i lowered the muti to 6X and it still wont boot. Something tells me it could be the ram. Im running it at 4-4-5-15, the rest is left at auto.
Here is my 24/7 OC until DFI releases a better bios. It seems my IHS is very flat as temps have been very nice as you can see. With a 90mm fan over the NB it doesnt break 40C.

I just wanted to double check, I'm running 1.44v and my "CoreTemp/Intel TAT" temps hit a max of 58c running dual prime... is this reasonably low enough both in volts and temps for 65nm C2D?
I couldn't overclock at all before and I had a bunch of issues. My system was unstable and I couldnt overclock past 200fsb.
I got a new DS3 board and now doing 3.3ghz easy!

On the AMD forum we used to have strict rules- at least 3H Prime stable OC was rendered stable - I don t think that a single SPI run is something
very particular - or let us start a new thread - "Prime stable overlocks " or something like that .
Let Eva 2000 or Absolute0 or other well known chaps / at least to me :) /
say their word about that.
There is a very good database over at [H]. It asks for 4H Prime/Orthos. I'd love to see something like that over here. Anyway, here's where I'm at so far...
Surely there's more in her, but the IHS pales in comparison to the E6300 I had. My paste applique looks almost as bad as zoob. Probably hit it with sand before I push any harder...
CPU-Z's still reading the CL wrong...it's 5, not 3.

my e6400 is stable at 3.44 with 1.5vcore. Is that a little too high? idles at 45C and dual prime brings it to 53C even after 10 hrs. (core temps) Its a week 26. I thought the newer weeks OC better with less vcore?
Can anyone tell me how I can change the multi in the BIOS? I think it's in CPU configuration but it is locked.
On P5W DH u cant change multi in bios (yet), however it can be done with a program CrystalCPUID (function/intel inhanced speedstep control).

Guess not all chips are good.
Best I can do with my e6400 and P5b Deluxe is 2600mhz with voltage on auto.
I tried for awhile to get it above 330 using 1.5vcore. I also bumped up the Northbridge voltage, and ran my Corsair 6400 at 2v instead of 1.9. No dice.
I also went straight to 400x8 since some say 350-400FSB is not good on this mobo. At least it booted to Windows...
Temps were only 55c full load.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know...

what you guys think about so high temperatures on overclocked C2D ? 70C with single Prime ? come on... these cpus will die pretty soon... run dual prime and it will be as high as 80C.
ps. im not talking about just o/c to check it out, accepting the risk. but some ppl say that would be 24/7 config for them, this is what amuses me.
I've always preferred to take them as far as stock vcore will go. It's never seemed worth the jump for 5-10% more speed IMO. Of course that won't stop me if temps are reasonable. :D
Anyone know about week 23 is any good?
I still dont' know where the temp cutoff is for these cores, mine hits 59-60C under heavy load. I will call intel i guess and ask them.Quote:

Jodiuh+Artmic: and you have to remember, that 60-65C you see in BIOS/MB utility could be around 15C lower that real cpu temperature... since some MB get these from undersocket sensor.
The most I have seen my temps get to is 58C @ 4.0GHz, I have now settled for my 24/7 settup of 3.4GHz with max temps of only 44C using 1.3125Vcore :D

Heres my best with my week 26 E6300 OEM. The DS3 mobo is definately the limiting factor for me now, Memory i was using is OCZ Gold Edition 6400 at 5-5-5-10. Think i am gonna get rid of the CPU and Memory and try something else.

Artmic: "I have no idea, i hit 72C on both cores on Everest" - go on www.rightmark.org and get the RMClock utility, it will show you the internal thermal sensor of cpu. you will be surprised...
ps. i hear alot of "warning" messages lately from ppl who o/c their processors (mean C2D on 965 based mobos, which usually treat only near-by-socket thermal sensor) and couple weeks after heavy usage they got problems. remember, 85C seem to be final limit for the core itself, will ya check how hot it is in REALITY ? I would.

My problem now is trying to get my motherboard stable... I have very poor contact with the stock P5WDH NB/MOSFET sink, half of the NB was barely touching. I replaced it with a Zalman ZM-NBF47 and a 120mm fan sitting on top of it and the RAM.... Running lowest RAM divider with RAM @ SPD.. how depressing.
EDIT:
370 x 10 and 375 x 10 relatively stable @ 1.55 vCore
Currently testing 360 x 10 @ 1.48xxx vCore (Fails at 1.475 after some minutes). I have a feeling it's because of vdroop.
This board ... argh... frustrating! Even more than my AOpen i975 !!!!
