I didn't begin to search for the reason of these problems, I have simply reinstalled the driver to 84.56.
This driver is very much pleasant to me, it's WHQL, but unfortunately not FM approved.
I never before published it. :)
I have added support for videocards:
7300GT
7900GTO
7900GS
7950GT
Here it is: http://steffbard.com/drv_04/84.56_mod2.exe ( FW_84.56_mod / about 16MB )
Enjoy :D
Thanks a lot.
Is it any faster/slower than the 84.66?
many many thanks :D
Try it later with my GTO´s. I hope it fix my problem.

I can't tell that they faster or slowly, they work other way, especially it differs from 84.21 and 84.43.Quote:

Do I need a SLI bridge if I use this drivers on my motherboard?
The drivers won't install for me because it says that I'm not running Windows XP. I have a genuine copy installed, but it's 64-bit. Is that what's killing it?
Bah, yes it is because I'm running x64 =/ Is there anybody online who can help a n00b out :)

Hi Sam,
Thanks for your modified drivers. Do you recommend the 85.96 over the 84.56's you mentioned? Or vice-versa?
Also, will you be working on 91 series FW drivers soon? Thanks and keep up the good work!

It's very hard task, work goes very slowly.
If you havnt tried it already you can use the XG tweakerizer on the 85.96 modded driver. Been running it for a few days and runs smooth and has good IQ.

yo same, is there a way to make it enable LSI all the time?? cuz i find it disabled after i reboot, even though it shows as enabled . Its actually disabled, i ran some 3dmark and doom3 test.
i had to disabled it and re-enable it ever tiem i reboot to actually enable it. before i disable and re enable it i got 65fps in doom3, and i got 128.5fps after....
is there a way to enable it all the time even after reboot??
I had this exact same problem that happened with any of the modded drivers I tried. I'm currently in the process of selling my 7900GTs for a 7950GX2, as I could find no way to correct this issue. Only way I could temporarily fix it was by reinstalling the drivers each time it occured.Quote:

Hi,
I have a trouble with my SLi on Giga DQ6
i tried 84.66, 85.96, with and without (not flexible) SLi Bridge
I gun 2x 7900 GTX ( tested each one alone, without any bugs or atifacts )
The trouble is in 3D mark, graphics are corrupted , or simply goes to black screen , or froze ... i tried to flip the bridge but no way, i did a fresh XP install with directly the 85.96 but same issue ...
Now i'm resigned to sell one of my graphics card...
My system :
Mobo Gigabyte DQ Bios F3
CPU E6600ES STep5 B1 @ 4050 Mhz ( 450 x9 ) + Vapochill XE II
2 Go of DDR2 Corsair
700Watts Seasonic PSU
2 x PNY 7900 GTX stocks clocks
1 Raptor 36 Go
1 Maxtor 300 Go
1 Samsung DVD writer
PS: the frequency of my CPU is stable, i ran 3d Mark 01 for one entire night
Could you help me ?
PS2: I did 2 days ago, a score of 62000 in 3d Mark 06, but my windows was crrapy, i ran this session without any bugs or issue, but in order to have a fresh and clean windows, i format and re install, now i have issues...
here'a a link of my score :

at the bottom of the page 2 ...
this system gonna make me depressive ...
Big_Sam:
Will there be further driver patches available regarding SLI feature for these chipsets ?
Iam not having any of these problems with the 85.96 driver....About the only problem is in Call of Juarez I just have to turn off SLI to play it. Otherwise My SLI has of yet to just disable itself..Been running or over 2 weeks now..Iam running the MSI 975x board..Could this be a board specific problem...
Using the Asus P5W64-WS mobo, XP Pro, two BFG 7900 GTX's and Big Sam's 84.56_mod, the driver intalls without any error messages but does not recognize the second video card. Anyone else have this problem and find a workaround? Thanks
the 84.56 works perfect here.
which slot´s do you use for the gfx? i have the same mainboard and no problems with my GTO sli.
any working ones for 7950gt yet ?
I have added support for 7950GT in 84.56 and in INF file for 85.96, but till now did not see any result in ORB on these cards. :(Quote:

Big-Sam just a quick question are you already begun with trying to mod the 91,xx drivers???
Excuse me for my english, i'm italian.
I have two 7800gtx 256mb,I'm thinking of changing my setup to a P5WDH (or AW9D-MAX).
Works vga in SLI with driver modded?
thanks :)
Your English is fine. Yes, you can run your 7800gtx video cards in SLI with the modded drivers (I use 84.56 mod 2 by Big Sam). I am very pleased with the performance (runs almost twice as fast as a single card) of my BFG 7900GTOC SLI configuration.Quote:

Hello there, i´m the new one :D
@ first sorry my English, cause i´m from Germany

@ Big_Sam
Thanks for the Drivers, they´re really fast and i´m enjoying to play with my rig with your drivers, but.....
... since last week i´ve got 2x7900 GTX 512Mb Voltmodded @ my P5W DH Deluxe. My E6600 runs @ 3600Mhz (System Stable)
There was a problem with the resolution (1680x1050 16:10 Widescreen). Everytime when i Bench, my system Crashed, or just dont load the next Bench using your 85.96 Driver.
So i change my Resolution into 1280x1024, since then i´ve got no problems anyway
Do you know abot this problem? I have to say that my older 7800 GTX 256Mb didn´t got this resolution problem....
Í´m waiting for your feedback :toast:
greetings TW
Hello,
@ everyone good morning i'm happy to become a part of this forum
After carefully reading this topic from the beginning i olso desided to try SLi on my Asus P5W DH Deluxe. I bought it thinking it was SLI ready but didn' t read the small letters saying it was Crossfire ready ( the box said SLI so go figure).
I'm using a pentium D 945 @ 3.4 ghz. My Windows version is x64 becouse its a 64 bits system. Is that a problem? My second Asus EN7900GT wil be here tomorow and i olso bought a SuperMicro SLI Bridge AOC-SLIB for optimal peformence.
Do i have to reinstall windows XP 32 bit or can i use the 64 bit.
I'm all new at this but i really would like to learn?
Thanxs for your understanding.
thijs
SLI operation on a 975X based motherboard requires a modded driver. I have not seen any x64 drivers modded for SLI operation, just 32 bit drivers. I believe you will have to change your OS to XP 32 bit in order to get SLI working on your system.
I have a D975XBX BadAxe MB and am using the 84.56 modded drivers to run SLI with my BFG 7900GT OC video cards. It is running GREAT!. I'm impressed. I hope that NVIDIA will break down and enable the standard drivers to run on Intel chipsets so we can take advantage of new features and such. But, until then, I'm happy with my setup and the performance I'm seeing. IMHO, it is well worth the time for you to switch back to 32 bit XP just for SLI using the modded drivers.
Anyone working on modding the 91.xx drivers for Intel chipsets and SLI??? We'd all like to hear about it, if you are.
Best of luck!
Hi, glad to hear you joined?Quote:

A Gentleman by the name of "Sam" has done a wonderful job with the supply of these drivers. I'm using the 85.96version with modded inf. file for 2x7950gt's on a Asus P5B Deluxe with E6600 and 2gbs of OCZ Plat. PC2-1000 RAM. Works very well for me.
I'm interested to see how the "SLi Bridge" works, I'm not using a bridge so performance suffers a bit. I would like to get one. The one you have is "flexible"?.
Good Luck!
Thank u BigSam for this great drivers. I make sli on BadAxe with two Galaxy 7900GS witouth any problems
btw, it seem that with 85.96 I loose some stability launching Windows XP - sometimes it just hangs on load, on loading progress screen or even on log-in.
Was not a problem with other drives and even with older modded ones.
It's not often, like once in 10-15 starts (I restart often lately - just set up WinXP once again). So it's not really big problem :) just FYI.
ps. ofc, I tried to live couple days on pure no-overclock system just to make sure nothing wrong there - same result.
Ich haven´t problems like you  Maybe wrong Bios-setup :)Quote:

Yes my sli bridge is flexible. But it does not seem to work. They promised me to send a new one. If that one does'nt work then i have a problem i quess
ontopic
I installed a second OS ( xp 32 bit+ dualboot) to test if i could make the sli work. I allso bought a ASUS P5n32-sli se deluxe to see if the test results are better than on my P5W DH. I only need some ddr2 pc 6400 memory to build a third system.
Is there any change that it is possible that a x64 driver can be modded?
hmm, just installed second Sparkle 7600GT onto my config and see no "SLI" tab in advanced video settings... :(
ps. 85.96 modded...
update: SLI detected just fine using 84.56 :D
You can't always go by what you hear, but, I heard "SLI Board (pcb bridge)" better than "SLI Flex Bridge" I thought maybe FLEX Bridge better because board not designed for SLi (P5B Deluxe) and worried about length of bridge.Quote:

Yes that's what I found but can't locate anywhere that lists the C55 (680i) new Nvidia overclock. Tell you though I definately experienced a much better installation and overall experience with the i975 chipset, you have to remember Intel does set the standard and Nvidia while OK has its issues such as problems with crackling on X-FI cards (not all but many)Quote:

I'm not so sure, do you really think Nvidia cares that much about overclockers or xtreme system types of people? If they really cared that much about enthusiasts why so many emails to customers about how they won't support SLI on Intel chipsets?Quote:
