i think it works, i think njkid has a vague belief in it as well (judging from his thread). Over the last day, i'm sure i've gone down from 1.58v 2600mhz stable to 1.55v 2600mhz stable. I'm aiming to get to 1.5v 2600mhz stable, then start increasing again.

i tried turning my case on its side once....the theory was heat rises so i thought it would be able to escape from the top, much easier than moving horizontally out the back.

Anyway it crashed, so i've never done that since. No damage done though.

Looks like i'll be testing out an E6 very shortly, just finishing up some sleeving on the new OCZ 520w PSU i'll be using, then putting the whole thing together and keeping it all under a TDX. I'll be sure to post screens as soon as I can!

Are the E6 chips supposed to be better than others? I don't seem to be able to get anything stable on mine higher than about 260X10 @ 1.55v (max vcore in bios). At that voltage under load my cpu temp is 56°c and my chipset temp is mid 60s :(

Hmm, so, I got the overclock working after I slowed up the memory, and just last night I lowered the voltage from 1.5 volts to 1.4 and I made other changes, and I am wondering whether this is causing BattleField 2 to crash, could it be???

I keep on monitoring temperatures. My experience is telling me that these CPUs are essentially behaving somewhat different than any I had before. In case of full load temperatures around 2.8 GHz are jumping up some 15-20C meaning that without a proper extreme cooling little can be done to overclock it further, unless you have extraordinary chip which might be the case with NJKid's chip.
So short of watercooling or phase change or Minnesota winter with open window :D , I don't think there is a chance for me to break 2.8 GHz as it is.
I think the maximum safe voltage here is 1.55V if air cooling is used.

But of course I have not seen Zalman 9500CU that is just about to be released. We'll see if there is any improvement with that thing.

well i just put a fan above it (i was dubious at first, it didnt feel hot to the touch) but the PWMIC has dropped form ~54c to 42c under CPU Burn-in.

Nice... Anyone know where this chip is located on my board? I've pinpointed it on the DFI, thanks to njkid32's photo, but I don't see a similar chip anywhere on my A8N-SLi.

njkid32 i have a x2 3800 , nf4 dfi ultra-d , gskill pc4400 lc 1 gb , leadtek 7800 gtx , 2 hitachi sata2 80 gb raid0 , wc on the cu , and a very good airfuild in the case ... i see people here and in portugal foruns ate least at 2800 mhz ... and i can not even get 2400 stabel ... i just want some help ... i have try a lot og memory bios configs ... but the max i can get was 7loops on 32 m superpi at 2700 mhz ... but with timings very very bads ... :S please ... if samebody know anything .... please i need help ... thank you all :( :(

You should use the 704-2BT bios you can find it over at DFI Street. It has worked the best for me!

For some reason it helped my OC much more. Not to sure what the huge diff was but what you guys need to do is try a couple of bios's. Cuz what works well for me may not work for you. I have tried about 5 different bios's and finally landed on this one. When I was using my Venice and San Diego the 510-2Fixed bios was the best. So try a couple of them and see what works for you!

yeah i've just heard all the horror stories on DFI, BIOS flashing sounds a lot worse than it ever was on my old Abit, or with my gpu. Did it help OC your CPU? Like let you get lower volts or something?

Also wasn't the 704 bios the one that killed a ton of cpus thanks to some weird vcore bug?

Also, a good place to get BIOS's? Since i know i will end up trying them all out sooner rather than later.

Ok you can get the bios's at: http://www.bleedinedge.com/forum/sho...53&postcount=1

Now the 704 beta bios is the one that has killed a few chips. That was using the +123% option. Now BigToe has modded that bios and took out the unsafe options which is the last one on that list 704-2BT.

i try with winflash ... and it chane the blcok ... how can i flash the bios right ? i think i allready have the bios ... just a litlhe thnig ... in memory options ... in speed ... now there is a b c d ... what they do ... and should i chose one of them ? thank you
