I've never RMA'd through Monarch, but from what I've read about them they're not too bad...I believe the warranty is through AMD, but I'm not 100% on that...other forum members would probably know better than me

That said...$15 is a small price to pay for a little peace of mind, whether it's warrantied through Monarch or AMD...

When Sparco crapped on us I worked something out with a friend of mine, so now I'm aiming for Monarch's 4000+ OEM hopefully shipping this Friday...and I paid the extra $15 for the warranty

why a venice 3500+ if your short on cash, I woulda gotten the 3000+ Venice. as for warrenty, its void once you overclock

I have BH5 ram not TCCD for one. And yes I know I can run a divider but I don't know if the DFI has a divider to run the ram at say 250 or 260 while running the processor(3000+) at say 2.8ghz. Can someone share some insight?

sell your bh5 and get tccd. youll have more ram bandwith and save alot on the cpu itself

Um that would be a good idea but I really don't have ram to carry me over if I were to sell it. Anyways, I don't want to go through that hassle right now.

That is one bad idea. Yeah, you'd get "synthetic" benchmarks showing you "huge" bandwidth but TCCD cannot hold a candle to BH-5. If you put enough voltage on them, BH-5 can go to 250 on 2-2-2-5-2-1 and sometimes higher. That smokes anything TCCD is capable of, no matter what synthetic benchmarks say.

Exactly. My BH5 can do 255 on my I875p on 3.3v. So I'm GUESSING/HOPING I'll be able to do at least 260 or maybe even 265 IF I'm lucky with the NF4.

You could run 310x9 with 166 divider. That would put the ram around 253. Also maybe 300x9 with a 180 divider if your able to get your ram that high. That would put it around 270.

Cool, x11 @ 250Mhz will prolly be just fine for mere mortals with simple water cooling. Looks like 3700+ is the winner.

BH-5 needs at least 3.3V to achieve that speed, it generates a lot of heat and if you're using a DFI nF4 mobo the mosfets generate even more heat than the ram when u switch the 5V jumper to supply the voltage, so it's very impractical to use BH-5 inside a closed case 24/7.
When I had my OCZ PC4000VX it generated a rediculous amount of heat along with the mosfets that I didn't even consider using it 24/7, I closed the case for about 5 minutes just to see how hot things will get, when I opened it it was like opening an oven, everything was hot to touch and the case's side panels were pretty warm.
Now I'm running OCZ Plat. R2 TCCD sticks and doing DDR600 2.5-4-3-7 with only 2.7V and all my temps went down a lot with the case closed that I can run it 24/7 at almost the same temps as stock
also I thought higher memory speeds gave better gaming results than tighter timings, isn't that true?
my point is that Geforce4ti4200's idea might not be a bad one at all..
but if u still think that BH-5 is better then at least make sure u have a big case with a few 120mm fans and some heavy duty cooling on the mosfets and ram.

Nope, I think it may be the other way around. i remember reading somewhere that bh-5 @ 275, 2,2,2,5 can't be beat by tccd @ 333, 2.5,3,3,7

Nah, 333 7-3-3-2.5-1T would eat BH-5 @ 275 for lunch... but I don't think we are gonna see that kind of clocks on anytime soon...

that's very unlikely, I do agree that BH-5/VX is excellent for benching, but it isn't that great for 24/7 use..

With all clockspeeds the same, BH-5 at 200 Mhz beats TCCD at 267 Mhz in real world testing.

TCCD = :owned: by BH5

And btw I DO have sufficient cooling for my rams/mosfets. As in a 92mm Tornado over the rams/mosfets. And I run 24/7 3.3v on 875p anyways so WTF. TCCD still can't beat Bh5, so lets get over it and move on.

I have nothing but good experience with Monarch. I've placed 3 different orders with them and each time they upgraded my shipping to next level for free (3 days saver becomes 2 days shipping, etc). One of the order was the mobo+cpu combo and they even readies a return label in case you need to. I have gone thru their rma for a broken ddr booster, sent thurs and received it back the next thurs, very well done and the people are very friendly. I would recc Monarch over newegg for CA folks, no tax :D
