I have one of these:
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/14...-PCB-3WAY.html
with a bank of fans hooked up. Actually I will be using 4 of these for various banks of fans. However, with all three wires hooked up, the AE5 will not detect RPM for the fans. If I hook up a single fan to the AE5, RPM detection works fine. In my electronic illiteracy I am thinking the pulses for RPM are getting "mixed" and unreadable. I am sure I can "unhook" the RPM lead for all but one fan and that would work but I am looking for input from the group here. What are all of you doing in this situation.
Thanks,
John
You can only use one RPM sense pin... it's a pulse signal so with multiple signals, there will be interference.
Is it necessary for the 4 pin molex connectors that plug into the Aquaero 5 XT and the Poweradjust 2's to carry the 5 volt, or is just the two wires carrying the 12v necessary?
Thanks again,
John
Where does one purchase the cable necessary to attach a Poweradjust 2 to an AQ5?
Thanks.
I have some with my order. I am guessing the came with the PA2's. They are just a simple three lead cable with 3 pin connectors on each end.
The website lists this:
Delivery:
2 USB 1x poweradjust
1x Anschlussadpterkabel for Laing DDC pump
1x USB internal cable ( 5-pin) , length 70 cm
1x speed signal cable
1x Manual
I am guessing that the 1x speed signal cable is what they call it.

Aquasuite 2012 Beta 11 and Firmware 1020 for the Aquaero 5 are out if anyone is interested.

I tested it yesterday on my PRO but still can't se my PW2.
I've tried to find a solution to this but without any luck so far.
Eqp:
Aquareo 5 PRO - 4(8) fans connected, 4 temps and a flowmeter
Poweradjust 2 - one DDC pump connected with the cable
Aquabus cable and USB connected on both(tried without on PW2)
Mobo - SR-2
You need to connect Poweradjust to Aquaero thru Aquabus High and ONLY Aquaero to mobo with USB.
The temp sensors, or probes, that came with my Aquaero 5 XT seem a little short. Can I lengthen them using standard 22 ga or 26 ga wire or does it need to be special wire to meet certain specifications, impedence, resistence or something?
Thank you,
John
I haven't tried it, but considering they are a resistance based thing, you probably will alter the reading a little unless you take the time to create a new calibration profile. Never done or tried that myself.
Doing this will have a neglible effect on your readings for those specific thermistors.Quote:

Go ahead, no worries.
basically any analog 2-pin temp sensors will work with AE5. Visit Performance-PCS or Frozen or Sidewinders if you are in US or Aquatuning if in Europe. You can also go directly to AC e-store for those sensors too.Quote:

I do have a pile of old Scythe Kaze Master probes I could try on my sample when the new board arrives to see how good they are. I know you want 10Kohm sensors, but I don't know much more about it. Good question though and some accuracy type testing with extension would probably be worth while.
Stick it in a stirred glass of Ice Water before and after and see what if any difference you can find..etc.
Hello Guys,
Referring to my previous reply, the fractions of change in resistance (maybe <0.1 ohm) will have no appreciable effect on a 10k Ohm or 20k Ohm thermistor. So....no problem, not even for the Guys bothered about accuracy.
Anyway, if you are anal about accuracy, probably much better to go with digital temp-sensors then :)
(1) Can someone explain exactly how 2+ PA2 is hooked up to an AQ5? Pictures for bonus credit :)
(2) Also, what does it means if "RE" is displayed on the lower right corner of a AQ5?
Thanks.
Blank Sensor Names in Aquasuite 2012 and limited communication.
Hi, I have been having issues with Aquasuite 2012 and Aquaero 5 XT. I managed to get the firmware updated to 1021 with the help of the recovery trick mode but also had to unplug wireless mouse and keyboard. After flashing firmware Aquero 5 was recognised in Aquasuite and all sensor names were visible. However after a reboot Aquasuite would open but all sensor names, fan names etc. were blank and although Aquasuite could read values from the XT nothing could get written back from Aquasuite to the XT? I have searched both this forum and forum.aquacomputer.de and I only managed to find a couple of posts with similar problems like the one I have copied below. They mention a conflict with Logitech setpoint which I don't have and also disabling of Windows UAC to fix the issue. I tried turning off UAC but this did not seem to have an effect. After many hours of reading on-line and trying various things like uninstalling the 64 bit version and trying the 32bit version all to no avail. I finally got the names to appear again by disconnecting all my USB devices, doing the 4 jumper recovery trick and re-installing Aquasuite, however after reconnecting my USB devices and doing a reboot I am back to square 1 with no sensor names and no communication back to XT. Does anyone know of a fix for this issue or what might be causing it?
(Below is an old post I found with similar issue, but suggested fixes did not work.)
I can't use any function in the aquasuite 2012 software anymore.
I did a factory setting reboot, a reinstall of the aquasuite, but nothing changed.
Something of influance could be that i installed, the lcdhype and the plugin for it. (already de-installed it and no changes)
When i enter the aquasuite the first thing that's different than before, is that all the temp-sensors are "blank". I mean they have no name, not even "temp sensor 1". I can however name them, but it changes nothing on the A5. When i click a virtual sensor i get a a4-long error message and the Asuite exit's
Anyone any Idea how i got into this mess? Or how to solve it?
Ps, firmware update via the aquasuite, cause the aquasuite to crash. The device states its firmware 1012.
Another thing that's funny is that the aquasuite apperenlty does read information from the A5 but it seems it cannot return any.
UPDATE:
I'was thinking about what i changed since the last time everything(well
everything grmblf) still worked. I took out my logitech mouse - not the
keyboard btw - and turned off the Setpoint application. Windows than
installed my keyboard as a standard keyborad. Launched the Aquasuite and
now i was able to fully controll the aquaero 5 pro again.
Is this a know issue?
Would it help using a different usb port? (can't see why, but i will give it a go)
Edit2:
Tested: logitech keyboard and mouse on a different usb
hub/port(backpanel instead of front) and now everything seems to be
working fine.
I sometimes have the same problem. If that happens I close Aquasuite and put system to sleep mode. After wake up Aquasuite always works.
@mm67
Thanks for the tip, unfortunately this did not work for me.
Ok, I managed to get my problem fixed. As it definitely appeared to be usb related I managed to dig out an old USB hub and moved my wireless keyboard and mouse dongles on to that, rebooted and everything was working no need for recovery trick. All sensor names have re-appeared and I have full communication between Aquasuite and XT. Now that all is working I can begin to appreciate how good this bit of kit is, loving these control curves.
ANSWER: "at first you have to assign an unique aquabus ID to each poweradjust controller. To do so connect one poweradjust via USB and start the aquasuite 4.72 (http://aquacomputer.de/tl_files/aqua...up_4.72.00.exe). In the tab "startboost and calibration values" you can change the aquabus address. Make sure that one controller has the ID 50 and the other one the ID 51. Save the settings afterwards into the device through the menu poweradjust 2 -> save settings in device.
Connect one of the poweradjust 2 to the highspeed aquabus interface of the aquaero. You can connect the second controller to the other aquabus connector on the first controller. Or you can also use a y-adapter to connect both devices directly to the aquaero. It does not matter how you connect them since it is a real bus system so they only must be connected in some way (of course with the correct pin assignment)."
