it would go down to around 80-90 after 1 minute, sometimes right away......thats interesting if your board doesnt do this.
what voltages are you using???? can you please list them, thanks, also what fsb and multi, i think that might have something to do with it.,
does anybody know if i need the cpuleveluphelp or cpupowermonitor running at startup?!?!?
Quad or dual core? I just got 2 more PC6400 Ballistix sticks 10 mins ago, threw them in and it seems to be happily running at 1200 5-5-5-15 4 sticks SPi 32M with 1.45VNB:yepp: Early days yet so It's probably because of so many variables that the vnb needed is jumping up and down...I think 4:5 needs way..way more:shrug:
Anyone getting popping and crackling with audio? It doesn't happen all the time, but a lot of the time the SupremeFXII has popping audio, I had it when I first got my Striker with the SupremeFX but a driver update fixed it... No such driver update this time?
Um, Shawn TRD, unfortunately not in this case. He is not the only one with this problem.
We are talking about the side A or side B? Becasue side A is showing the load on your CPU vs side B is showing the what task's and using that %.
I think the CPU issue is only with Quads, I dont get that problem with my dualcore.
Anyways Last night I successfully ran a 8 Hour Orthos session with my E6850 @ 3.84 (427X9)- I ran my ram at 1:1 for stability of the CPU now Im gonna OC the RAM and stablize, I think ill have to do 5:6 (DDR2 1138) since 3:4 is broken (which is DDR1068 pretty much my rams rating) Hopefully i can do 1138 @ Vdimm 2.25
My temps are good with 3.84- CPU was never higher than 57-58. my NB and SB were under 50. One crappy thing is my NB volt neesd to be at 1.62 to be stable which is high, but the temp never went that high so ill leaev it be, Any tips on Clocking my RAM?
Im using the e6850 w/thermalright ultra 120 and Crucial ballistix tracer 2GB 1066 kit.
Right-most image show Prime95 running 80-90%, remaining cpu-time taken by "system" process. Lowering voltage stops the behavior. Does not matter if cpu is stable or not...happens @ some low speeds too, althouhg it depends on which setting for cpu volts you choose. I get 1.424 by 1.4375, no issue, but 1.424 by selecting 1.45 results in this issue. GAR gets it at different voltagem which leads me to believe this is current related, not speed or voltage. happens on 9x and 8x multi...have not tried 7x yet.
Yeah, seems like a couple of things contribute to this weird behavior.....i hope asus gets a fix soon......has anyone contacted asus about this issue???
I got a weird problem:
I just recieved the mobo today. I try to get 1200 with my Ballistix PC8500 but I can't. I've tried some BIOS: 401, 205 & 505, but I cannot make my ram run at 1200MHz (they do 1400MHz CL5-5-5-15 w/2.5v).
I've tried the blue & the white slots. White do 1200MHz w/2.1v, but the system doesn't seem stable. Blue can't reach 1200MHz, even with 2.55v.
Got some clues?
Thanks in advance ;)
again, i've ran my 425x9 at 1.45 and it ran prime occt at 99%... i also ran the same settings at 1.51 volts and again prime and occt were running at 99%. am i doing something different then you guys or is this an isolated incident?
You might get it at higher voltage, if my idea of it being current-related is correct. Again, I get it @ 1.425v, GAR @ 1.5v, and you haven't got it yet.
In this instance, 3 machines, the most likely difference is how muc hcurrent the cpu is drawing, as I DO NOT have the issue with my dualcores...just my quads.
I run a couple of pretty good B3's(1.2375 VID/1.25 VID), you guys are on G0's, which would easily explain why you guys can go further than I can in voltages.
It's almost like there's some sort of "protection" on the cpu... because lower speeds, same volts, can sometimes make it happen, which kinda FUBAR's the whole "current" idea...
One thing to note is that this board will install "EPU driver" fomr mobo cd...maybe you have not installed this?
You could also try pushing volts further and see what happens, if your cooling is up to it.
basically, we both(GAR and I) would LOVE to find a fix.
I am having exactly the same problem with my Ballistix 8500 too.:(
I'm using 0505 BIOS.
1200 on white slots = not stable. On blue slots = cannot boot up.
Tried with different vDimm, vNB (as high as 1.7v) and subtimings, still not stable.
My Teamgroup 6400 seem to do somewhat better with the same settings.
At least they have passed memtest 600% 1200 @2.2v.
POssibly, and then we could just blame our cpus. But i cannot let this one go..scales too well under DI, 3.6 stable @ 1.525v @ a scorching :eek:95c:eek: on air.
Just so maybe you understand a bit, neither of my quad's do this in other boards.
I didn't install any of the software from the CD, just the stanard mobo, audio and LAN drivers and I can Prime/OCCT/Dual Orthos/Fold @ 1.5v+ (up to 1.65v so far) @ 3.9GHz and 430+ FSB without a problem. Not a single case of not fully loading the CPU or all 4 cores... :D
I think it's an isolated problem! :(
Maybe EPU driver...I'm now home and can re-install XP agian...you bet I am gonna leave this driver out and see what happens!
Mine just arrived. Now I need that Yorkfield and I am ready to boogey:yepp:
