That has been in 90% of the cases like that...

Ok do I open it and punish it a bit or what? Its hard having a new cpu to play with but resisting .....
My new ram has to go back for rma too, one stick is a dud ....
:(
liek said before a batch nr is just a guideline, but tells usually not much We had 5 CPU from the same batch, 2 did 5.4 benchstable, the worst 4.9 lol... so maybe you got a good one... you will only find out if you try it...
Ok, you guys twisted my arm, its in and testing now ....
:)
Edit: No, its not a special cpu , it doesnt like 53x so maybe with bclk I might bench at 5400, then I will test the 24/7 clocks.
Edit2: Ok it seems happy priming at 4800 with 1.400v , then 5000 with 1.45v but it looks like 52 is it. Batch is L051B142
.
I did some Quick testing..
~4800 1.352v 1h Prime Small FFTs
~5000 1.428v It did tha 16K test
54x boot
54x102 possible.
55x boot but no windows@1.58

newbie permission to sharing
just arrived today, quick testing
i5 2500K batch L048A952
4.5GHz Vcore 1.24v (bios), LLC level 2
http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/8...x45ghz124v.jpg
pass linX 9 minutes :D
getting BSOD at GTA IV EFLC that's so radiculous, fully stable Vcore 1.255v (bios) :)
please somebody try GTA IV EFLC more stressing than linX even IBT :D
*sorry my bad english
Nice cpu, thats above average. I found a couple of 54X max cpus from a bunch of 53X top 2600Ks.
The odds of finding >55X Sandy Bridge cpu is the same either we use batch/sn# theory or actually picked one in random from a pile of cpus with different batches
Then again just to make sure, we gotta test it @ 56X and up. It seems some skipped 54X and 55X and boot up @ 56X
We've been through this a few times now. It seems these chips are easier to get stress test stable than they are game stable.
Mine needed 1.34 @ 4.8Ghz for IBT (w/AVX), Prime 95 and LinX - but needs 1.36v to be game stable.
yes, you will need more voltage than you think ;)
I had that problem until I disabled LLC. After setting LLC to Regular and increasing the vcore to compensate for it, it solved all my problems.
(In both cases, the vcore under 4-core load was the same.)
Go back a couple pages on this thread for everyone's explanation.
Should run Furmark during LinX for total stability
wait a minute r3sy4, 9 minutes isnt enuf. u'll need to pass at least 20 runs to conclude stability.
Yeah Im selling my latest 2600K and will try a new one next week, but they are not attracting much resale value, people arent interested in them, maybe due to the mobo issues, Im not sure but I will be lucky if I come out of each cpu turnover with a $100 loss.
:shakes:
thx mate for feedback n some info's
i not yet to try 4.8GHz, just trying 5GHz need 1.35v (bios) to windows, 1.37v to benching 3Dmark 06 with M4E at my
friend, with ASRock P67 Extreme 4 why my chips need 1.37v (bios) LCC level 1, at CPUZ 1.392v some benching 3D?
M4E very interesting i think
need low Vcore than my ASRock Extreme4
yes, i ill try again with more runs :)
*update
i'm to lazzy trying stability, here 4.8GHz Vcore 1.325v (bios), LLC level 2
http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/1589/linx48ghz.jpg
daily i prefer 4.5GHz offset mode Vcore -0.020v LLC auto :)
Using either IBT or LinX, swap out the LinPack libraries for the latest under Windows 7 SP1. You will really find out how stable your OC is when it's using AVX ;)
Look at the difference in GFlops. Also, it pushes the chip to the absolute max. I past 20 passes in LinX ( with old libs) but needed more voltage to complete 5 runs in IBT (with new libs and AVX).

2600K Batch L040B225 is tha :banana::banana::banana::banana: !!! dont booting at x 52 either max speed of 104 x 50 mine does,
can booting at X51 but not stable at all.. damn !!! selling it then ordered new one :D hope for better batch
dnottis
but Gflops on linx dont mean anyting really
look what ive done
i have 2 intel ssd , put one with SP1 RTM (final) and the other no SP1
ok gflops on SP1 are much better yes, but the rest its same and not only that to be stable i need 4 notches of vcore and all tests runs the same or better some non SP1
i have 2 mates that tested and its the same
this is my opinion of course, rememeber SP1 has a new implementation on memory management
cheers !
Sergio
its better to use LLC1 for OC, when you got it stable just enable CE1 and EIST states and you wont believe how cool temps you will have
and now it works as a charm, before was a mess
im stable at 4805 HT ON on load 1,404 idle 1,44 and have 30C temp on cores with 25,5 C of ambient summer here on water
cheers
Sergio
Still testing..:D
Attachment 112242
After i install SP1 to Win7
my LinX crash ?
;)My new toy that just arrived today

Won't get time to play with it for a day or so due to work (open case, take out vga, disconnect cables and fans, rip off heatsink, swap processors, reconnect all of the above, etc...)
The Batch should be decent hopefully - any comments on the serial number?
PolRoger has that batch and his is a cracker, can you get me one? Serious, I pay you and you post me one .... all chips here seem average to poor .... (oops I want a 2600K that clocks like that)
polroger - what did yours get to ? I didnt see any max multi tests, please fill us in.
:)
For a SB 2500K... that is a pretty strong batch although there can be both stronger and weaker in most batch(s). L041C124 might be even stronger? My chip will do 48X with ~1.280v load stressed maybe even a little less? Where did you source that chip? Serial number doesn't seem to mean too much for high multi 56x(+)... those seem pretty random.
I've benched it at 55x... WPrime 1024M stable. I've not tried
56x yet... 56x(+) chips are pretty rare.
Yeah I've also been looking for a 2600K that clocks like it. :) and I got mine at a local MicroCenter.
