check your setup again, maybe you just did not lock your CPU... it with a screwdriver. or maybe it's your mobo.
try reflashing it with 1023 bios from official site and with p4 installed.

Troman where in blegium did u bougt asus convertor?
The problem was my board guys.
Here is my first run with the Asus stock cooler for the CT-479 :D
New board is a P4P800SE :woot:
Finally after two weeks of struggling i got my p4gd1 and 760 to work
But i found out i am missing one of these white thingys that hold the racket(the square black thingy where you attach your cooler) on the socket, so basically i cant try huw fast my dothan could go :(
With W/C i have managed to get 45c idle and aroun 60+ stress temperatures :zombie:
Maybe better luck tomorrow. Im gonna do some ghetto patent on it. Atleast i can surf the internet and maybe try some gaming tonigh.
Soo hopefully tomorrow some serious overclockings. ;)
so there is banias, dothan and sonoma
who can make me a > < = table?
example : banias < sonoma < dothan
is this true?
Sonoma is not a core, it's a platform, just like Centrino.Quote:

533 FSB Dothan is the one you're looking for.
explain this then
Yes Dothan is made to work on the Sonoma platform. Why do you think it is between brackets?
confused dealer...Quote:

indeed ! :)
the dealer sells 3 kind of chips, dothan, banias and sonoma, to i thought there was a new cpu or something :)
but now i am very confused, wich cpu should i buy?
this is the link to the shop ( if not allowed plz remove )
http://www.hpm-computer.de/assets/s2...m-computer.de/
but i cant figure out wich chip is the right one for my needs
Any Pentium M 7x0 will fit your needs, where x is a number between 3 and 8 (from 730 to 780).Quote:

Get yourself a nice Dothan like the 730, 740 or 750. All 7*5 cpu's are 100mhz Dothans and you should never buy one of these.
Thank you all !

Cool! :clap:Quote:

Very good result at SuperPi...
My best is 29 at 215x12@DDR530@2.5-3-3-6
Ok guys. This is going to be top speed with this rinky dink heatsink that came with the ct-479 :p:
I just got done doing the vdimm mod for the board. I don't think 26's are going to be too far out of reach when I get the zalman mounted up. ;)
:woot:
Which vdimm mod are you talking about.. and for what purpose? I thought vcore/FSB-clock was much more important in Super-Pi..Quote:

Vcore works fine with my p4p800se. I did the vdimm mod shown at malvescorner.net
Bumped up my vdimm so I can run my BH-5 at 2-2-2

Hi,
My P-M 730 arrived yesterday, i could put it at 216x12 = 2592Mhz memory syncronous with stock cooling at 1.6v completely stable.
It can do SuperPI 1M at 222x12 which gives me 28s.
I want to know if i can put memory at 4:5 (cpu:mem) and what benefits i would have, of course i would need a good pair of mem sticks.
Any recomendation for 4:5 at 216Mhz so the memory can be at 270Mhz with the best possible timmings?
Another question, could i expect better overclocking with watercooling at the same 1.6vcore ?
The cpu temperature is way to high in load, almost 70ºC at stock cooling.
ive bought 1 .. :DQuote:

If i understood the multis are working for P4P800 SE with the beta bios 1009.003 . I'm assuming that i will not have problems to boot at 201Mhz if i buy a PM760 . Is that coorect ?
BTW , the link for the beta BIOSses is not working for me . Can you guys give a link for P4P800 SE beta 1009.003 ?
Thanks a lot :D
1009.003 isn't up any more, but 1009.004 is. Here's a link:Quote:

Either should do multi and allow 201 boot.
