Not on the P4C800. I think the P4P800se is the only one that allow BIOS vcore adjustment.Quote:

you can adjust Vcore ....on fly ! I don't know if you can adjust vcore on fly using CT-479 !? :(
how well does tccd work on a p4p800se with a ct479 and a midrange dothan/celeron m (1.7-1.5)?
1. does anyone have any beta bios with multi and vcore ajustments in BIOS for P4C?
2. Does anyone know any software to ajust FSB and/or Vcore on alviso board, like clockgen?
3. WHERE to buy a CT-479?
Well it's here, P4GD1 now officially supports the P-M adapter :DQuote:

Anyone knows if you can succesfully sit OCZ DDR -Booster on that P4GD1-board?
I know that the Booster works on P4P and P4C for sure. PCI-E, ICH6, and HiDef-audio sounds quite appealing though...
There also seems to be a .006 beta bios for P4GD1-board: http://www.asuscom.de/pub/ASUS/mb/so...1/1005-006.zip
...no clue but hopefully some nice multiplier and vcore options included ;)

I got a 31sec super PI at 2.4gh'z,havent even started tuneing it yet for the customer.but as it stand's that's 1 bad cpu, even let my boy's fx-55 take a swing at it;) he failed.
First test w/ the adapter and P4C800-E => Celeron 1.3GHz @ 2.12GHz (1.24V) => SPi1M 37sec (almost 36 :D). ram @ around 203MHz 2-2-2-5.

it certainly is a different and hilarious way of looking at it :slapass: , spanked by a celery :p:Quote:

And whats your s stepping for your cpu ? Is it the older dothan (350) or newer one (J suffix) ?
Thank's !

hey guys, where could I get that adapter?
I saw some Dothans with 478pin.. whats going on in here
http://www.cpu-world.com/sspec/SL/SL7EN.html
and also in intel website:
http://processorfinder.intel.com/scr...ALL&CorSpd=ALL
http://processorfinder.intel.com/scr...sp?sspec=sl7en
look at the 740..
It means that i can put a 478 dothan into a P4P800SE Bios updated?
thanks,
It is not pin compatible with s478, even though it has 478 pins. IIRC, Intel calls it s479 to differentiate the P-M socket and limit confusion on the issue.
so why in some of them marked as 478 and the other 479?Quote:

there is one model for 740 533 478 and one 740 533 479?
and sorry again for my annoying questions :| :bsod:
I'm trying to get the same question aswered but no luck so far :(

Haven't tried it for more than 5mins so far =)Quote:

So everything is very stock. I'll vmod an old P4C800 (flashed today w/ latest P4C800-E BIOS) for the celery for higher Vcore and FSB. Its 350 without J. Costs around 85€. I think its a very fun chip :D
That's quite a bang for the buck, it seems :)
If that adaptor would only make it to Denmark.. :/
Goes for about $90 in USD, for both 350 and 350j.Quote:

28 seconds in SuperPI 1M calculation for 2.5GHz (250x10) is pretty fast, if you ask me ;)

The best time I have achived with those speeds was 27.787sec, but the system rebooted when I inserted my USB stick (?)...
Good ol´ P4C800-E DLX never lets me down, and these things can hit reasonable high fsb with 1:1 divider and 2-2-2-5 settings :)

My 760 (2.0GHz) chip can hit 2.65GHz with stock cooling (Asus) and voltage.
Even it can hit higher speeds, the chip is only good for phase or LN2 runs, because it´s high stock multiplier (15x).
Because the multiplier cannot be changed (yet) from bios, and the board can´t run at high fsb´s when booted with under 200FSB, the chip is pretty much unusable :(
When the multiplier support will be added to bios, the chip will probably hit 2.8GHz - 2.9GHz speeds with decent voltages and this copper Dothan heatsink (by Akiba) ;)
maybe this can help you out:
his topic is just a few threads down the line (still high up on first page)Quote:

i made some little brackets to mount the cascade into the normal p4 mount not sure how much pressure is on the core but temps are a lot better than the asus cooler which went upto the 60's when i set 1.5vcore with the cascade they never go above 44C at load max oc.
this is the best superpi 1m time.

the max fsb i can get on the cpu is 167 any higher no mater what multi / vcore is used and it resets or locks up i think this is the ct-479 not the cpu.
i tested at ram 1:1 with faster timings but at 5:4 with 2.5-3-2-6 gave me the best time. The ram is held back my the p4p800-vm vdd settings of only 2.65v and i think the board is also maxed at about 2.7 as i tested a ocz ddr booster and at 2.8v the fans started to spin faster and then the board died lucky i had 2.
3dmark 01 se score at 133fsbx16

this is about 300 points below my p4 2.8c running at 3.6ghz with a 6600gt running at 600/1200
if i remember the score on the p4 with the fx5900 was about 15000 in 3d01 so thats a good score with the dothan.
Next think to try is running the p4p800-vm bios on a p4p800 with the ddr booster at 2-2-2-5.
cause the thread is huge and i don't have enough coffee to read it all.....can someone tell me if i have to look for a specific stepping about dothans? :p
Shoot for any Sonoma grade P-Ms; they clock better than their Carmel counterparts.Quote:
