Either my board sucks a huge rusty nail, or its not all its cracked up to be. I'm leaning towards board since I can no longer even ppost at 400x9(1.53 in bios) when i was fully prime stable a week ago.
Now I'm prime stable at 1.3575v with 360x9. Others are having success and some aren't. What are you getting?
BTW you guys on air are amazing me. Makes my CPU loop look like crap. :(
I just got my Q6600 G0 yesterday and got some nice results so far. I am sure I can take it higher but I thought this was a really nice start. 1 problem I did run in to is when I changed the multiplier to 8 in bios it didn't work. It still used the 9x multi for some reason. Anyways here are some shots 10 hours prime. This was in a pretty hot room too.
Add 15c for all temps (I didn't know I could make the adjustment through speedfan)

Highest stable is 3.4ghz for me so far. I have attempted higher with more volts but runs too hot. I'm contemplating water at this point. From all other posts i've seen with the very same batch number they don't seem to be the 'stellar' chips. I'm curious if my results would be different on a P35 though.

But i can't get 3900Mhz Prime stable at the moment. Maybe time for some watercooling.
Thanks 4x4, Im getting my OCz Ram cooler today so maybe i will try re-applying AS Cremq. and re-seating my D-Tek fuzion block. I did scratch the bottom of my block when trying to seat it the first time, could i have damaged the copper base by scratching it which is affecting temps? Also, do you think that using AS5 will lower the temps any? I will post back later when i have more results.

i return all the voltages back to a lower state since i am not priming 24/7, which is a hideous idea...if you prime for 30 minutes or an hour, i would say, COOL...GOOD SHOW!":up:
when i did the Prime 95 event for Grips and justin_c, i just maxed out the MCH and ICHIO 1.5 and increased vdimm to a level to handle it all and then, i let it rip!;)
4.0ghz on air and doing prime 95 is going to be a problem unless you have a stellar cpu, board and memory...when i booted into windows at 4Ghz, i was unable to run everest stability program for more than 2 minutes before it would freeze...i am golden at 3.84ghz with everest....the only thing that might make me stumble is my tight memory timings....i can't run at (1:1.2 ratio) ddr1152 at very loose timings with my teamgroup ddr1000 ram...so...i settled for ddr980 (1:1) at 4-4-4-12...performance is good enough for me.
i just tried the everest stability test, and it doesnt even reach my prime95 temperatures. pic coming up. your facing the majority, Prime>everest. i could probably run the everest test at 4 ghz and still pass lmao.

I'm not looking to run stable or 24/7 at 4Ghz, was just a max test to see what the CPU could do. I'm happy at 3.6 & sure I could do 3.7 maybe 3.8, but I fold 24/7 with all my rigs so lower temps for 24/7 "Full Load" use is what I'm after. With air cooling & as hot as it has been here in Ms that's about all I want to do at this time for 24/7 use.
Got my G0 today with batch L724B141 and i´m running 8*450 at the moment with 1.3625 vcore and my question is how high vcore is acceptable for 24/7 with decent watercooling and this Q6600?

I don't think a lot of people realize that F@H is a pretty good indicator of stability as well. With SMP client I have had it shut down while that setting had passed several hour of prime. Add a notch of vcore and it works ok. SMP client pegs all four cores but does not create the heat that Prime small FFt's do. So everyones stability requirements are different. Most folders don't do 8 hours for stability they do 24/7 with the cpu's pegged. I am in total agreement with The Wolf that I want cool first, fast second so I can leave it unattended and not worry. Just my opinion on having to pass 8 hours prime to prove it's stable.
I have not pushed it yet, but 3.6GHz on air with 1.375V and completely stable under Vista with 4GB of memory at DDR2-1200 is an indicator of a fairly good Q6600 and probably motherboard. ;)

i think not only GripS would agree with me. once i get my evga 680i i should be able to do 3.8ghz prime. once i go past 3680 with this dfi 680i lt, it fails.

by the way, i passed the 16k fft length in 5 hrs 10 min, so something is fishy.
Glad to see someone else post there same findings as me about Folding & prime. Same as with you it passed many hours of prime & or ORTHOS but fail to fold stable. Like you I just added one step up of vcore & its been stable since. So I fail to see were Prime or ORTHOS is a sure sign of stability when passed. I only use Prime & ORTHOS to get what looks to be stable & then use F@H to find its true stability.
If you want to see if your system its truly stable get the SMP client & use that for 24 hours & if it passes your stable.

Edit: Should be able to almost finish two WU=work units in 24 hours @ 3.6Ghz.
you are quite borish with your fantasy of using prime for a minimum of 8 hours as a justification that a system is stable...you need to grow up and join the adult world...get beyond this fantasy world of "show me your prime 95" to justify a high overclock.

I am sitting here trying to figure out how you air guys are showing lower temps than some of the high end water systems I've seen. Either my temps are being read wrong or your temps are being read wrong. I won't believe for a second that air cooling is working better than water. Also I realize certain chips will run hotter than others but the numbers just aren't adding up for me. Are you air guys with the low temps using a window AC unit to blow directly on the MB or something? There is something missing from this equation I just know it! :)
This is what I'm getting right now with a room temp of 27C/80F. This is actually higher than norman because I had the rig apart last night & didn't get a good seating as I had before plus its a little hotter today than normal. Was 58C across all cores or lower.
Just to show the difference between a B3 & G0 temp wise. Here a shot of a B3 using less vcore & at a slower FSB & over all speed. These both use the same basic cooling system. One has the stock style CPU cooler connectors & the other has like shown in the 1st link. Actually this setup cools better & is easier setup. B3 is under the second link.
