It might be a nice board but IMO the i680 is waaaay too power hungry, even for a dual 16x considering that the RD580 has a tdp of 8W (minus the MC of course but a MC shouldn't take more than 10W or something anyway). It's crazy how a chipset can be hotter than many cpus. :eek:

The Nforce uATX boards are nice though. But Nvidia should sort out their power consumption, pronto.

Poodle I don't have any issues with heat...i have two fans on the radiator but it never gets above 40c. Even when running orthos for several hours at 4.4ghz...

Regardless they are both exciting boards.

Hey Poodle...I reckon the Swifty MCW30 will drop right on with the RD600 stock Heatsink Clips! Should nestle nicely in the 30's centre slot! ;)

Is it possible to install the Tuniq Tower 120 on the DFI ICFX3200 with the air blowing towards the backplate?

It is because from your pics, the NB HS may be too tall which may not have enough clearence for the Tower 120 to be installed with the air flow towards the backplate.

i love my dfi..this board will defintly be an option for me. Have to read up more tho.

This might work for cooling the chipset. Check out the "Installation Manual" tab.

George, I´m using MCW30 on ICFX3200-T2R at this very moment.
There are two wire brackets supplied with the block that will fit.

Since the core of RD600 is quite small a shim is highly recommended. I´m using a standard neoprene shim that can be stolen from the bottom of any Asus or DFI stock NB heatsink.

Atleast for this board it didn´t, but it lowered the temperature of the nb almost 30c.

Nice one Stilt, thanks of the feedback on the MCW30 fitting this board. Nearly 30 Deg reduction on the NB is NOT to be sniffed at! Nice one! :toast:

well if MCW30 fits, then i will buy one of these when they get's out.Since im a gamer more then OC i want a 24/7 system with normal clock ~3.6+ and i think this is the board, even after i read the first review on VR:) overall this looks great.

do u think that the passive cooler of the dfi rd600 is enough for 440 fsb 24/7 ?

440fsb will need 1.5V or less on the NB, this will put temps around 50 to 60 C which is fine on the passive cooler. Adding a small fan will get you 10C lower temps if you were worried about it.
