how to deal with over voltage error? :(
Use stock vcore or up..
Or disable the F1 thingy in the bios. Forgot what tab its under but its under a sub menu thats with the hardware monitoring.
^^^
Haven't tried disabling "F1 notice" but you can find the temp reading/warning in the HW monitoring section, as deathman20 said...I did this with other Asus mobos...just set to "Ignore", rather than provide a warning reading in ur BIOS. Your temps will still show using other monitoring s/w. IIRC, it will still show ur temps in the BIOS, too.Quote:

The CDRW has the jumper set to "master", and is on the master connector, & uses the mobo's (only) Pri IDE conn.
My single WD Raptor's on the SATA1 channel off the Intel ICH8R, set to IDE config, and all is well there.
IF I reset the BIOS via manually clearing, or install a new BIOS, I can see the CDRW in my BIOS boot order listing upon the initial new POST, but as soon as I leave the BIOS, & boot into windows, it disapppears for good. Very weird, & very irritating; Otherwise I really like this E6600/P5B-Dlx/G.Skill 6400HZ combo...a lot!

0711 was crap for me, made more problems than it fixed. did not fix boot bug or power off cmos clearing. Plus it made the exact same overclocks with older bios unstable. I reverted back to 0706 and it's perfect.
0711 is the best bios for me yet!! Very stable, i dont oc, but i do tweak the memory timings, and this is the best bios for that. If i tried to tweak timings before, it would always crash or no boot at all. But no such problems no more.. :)
Goooo 0711!!! :D
I did distabled "hold for F1 on error" but it still produces that stupid sound that bothers me most. I didn't found that thing in HW monitoring section :)Quote:

356X9 = vcore 1.5 V
I think i need to lap my cpu (it's about 52C idle)
My chip = 6600 SL958 MALAY L626A175 (is this the :banana::banana::banana:ty version - week 26. I heard that week 28 is the best for OCing)
Conroe e6600 L626A175
Asus P5B Deluxe Wifi (bios 0711)
G.Skill pc6400 2GBHZ (4-4-4-12)
XFX 7900GT
Antec NeoHe 500W
I have one like coolalers:D week 28 B
Try to boot at 9x401 so its on the other strap.Quote:

Oh well...
FWIW, in case anyone else has a similar "issue".

:sig update soon:
Mine simply refuses to post at anything above 399...I can run orthos all day and night at 399 X 9 with my 6600. I've tried lowering the multi and a myriad of other settings and combos above 400 and she just aint doin' it...Quote:

Then, when the HW monitor eventually comes up (takes several secs), it will show an "out-of-spec" parameter by either changing color, or some other notice. Select that parameter using the "arrow" keys, like you usually do when manueveing thru the BIOS, then hit "enter", on the problem parameter.
There should either be a pop-up, or pull-down window, enabling an "ignore" option that is selectable thru the usual "arrow" keys, again hitting enter after selecting "ignore".
Best I can do for you, since I haven't had this issue with a P5B, as of yet.

Tried it. Can't even boot into the windows logo. Keeps restartingQuote:

I think my CPU and mobo is :banana::banana::banana:ed !!! PPl would have obtained at least 415-420fsb given the vcore i'm using
It's a week 26 btw. You reckon it would make any diff it was week 28 ?
FWIW, I had to crank up my NB voltage a notch, around 400, to insure stability, in order to keep going to higher FSBsQuote:

:old sig:
I just flashed to 0711 and now my computer will not boot.
steps i took:
1. clock back to stock
2. Use asus update utility and bois downloaded from asus website
3. flash was successful and it asked me to restart.
4. after restart, when i would normally see my ide drive it just said, "Searching for ide devices" or something of the sort.
5. Turn off, reset cmos
6. Turn back on, fans power up... no post, only black screen.
7. Turn back off, Disconnect IDE drive, turn back on, fans power up... no post, only black screen
Try clearing cmos like asus suggests...shut down, remove battery, move jumper for 4-5 seconds, replace jumper, replace battery...fire it up...Quote:

b) where are these settings (2th pcie)on the bios ??
I believe they are under the southbridge config (I'm not at that machine right now) - there is only 1 or 2 options in the menu.
Note that with the 0711 bios I no longer had to play with b), but I left a) as is.
I have a guestion about this P5B-DLX mobo:D
Does it run SLI, can you use 2 NVIDIA cards?
Thanks,
OPP
My infinity will...haven't had a chance to try the P5B cuz one of my cards went south. All you need is the hacked driver set...Quote:

Sounds promising then.Quote:

So, the P5WDH DLX has 975 chipset, I have one of those here also.Quote:
