he is running gskill pc 4200.... not 5200 6200 or anything else.
4200! and he is overclocking it to ALMOST DDR800

so why would you or anyone else think that the system doesnt like the gskill ram.,

brother if you got PC4200 up to DDR800 thats kickin some arse wow.. seriously thats a high overclock on that ram.
pc4200 is only 256mhz i believe. and ddr800 as we know is 400mhz.
thats 144mhz overclock on very low DDRII

PC 4200 is ddr2-533mhz , so you guys think its because of Ram that i cant boot up 380FSB + ???


But in asus P5WD2 premium and 920D i can run DDR-800 Cl4-4-4-12 @2.0v with no problems , maybe its Chip7 965.

if the gigabyte DS3 had ram dividers under 1:1 i could see if it is the Ram or the Board .

well you are running way out of spec on that RAM. DDR533 is only 266fsb

how to disable C1 and EIST? i can find EIST in bios but not c1?
yes i think this EIST makes my oc unstable. when i oc to @ 450x7 @ 1.375vcore, it was stable. but when it automatically dropped to 450x6 @ 1.1xx vcore, my windows was hanged.

What are the requirements for Kentsfield? I thought all 965 boards would support quad core, but this page says DS3 wont support it?

yea im worried as well. i dont like buying boards that dont support the future cpu's of the socket. because 1)lose value2)i have to upgrade

because i bought an abit ax8 s939 motherboard. worked great until dual core came out and because it was a VIA chipset i couldnt buy a dual core. and i had to sell the board for like 35 bucks since everyone wanted nf4 chipsets.

How do you find out if a board uses 12 or 3 phase power? I looked in the DS3, DS4 and DQ6 manual but I didn't find anything.

It means it got no Kentsfield support? Does it have to be 12 phase to support Kentsfield?

i hope my dS4 will support Kentsfield, either with official bios or beta bios. i dont care as long as i can use it :D

My DS3 is live :) ive found the problem (ds3 didnt boot) : it was new RAM modules - GoodRam 667 1GB - with another modules (noname - JetRam ???) its working fine.

Could you tell me with witch modules yours DS3 wouldnt boot ? ive been searching something to replace this Goodrams (ive gave it to my friend and it OK, modules are good)

PS GoodRam PRO DDR2 800 i heard working fine with DS3

its 2x 512mb or 1x 1Gb ??? what voltage in vDIMM??finaly what bios (F3 or F4) ??

that CAS 3 its a bug , its CAS = 5 right??? my DS3 if i choose CAS 5 the CPU-z also reads CAS 3 :D
