My Ultra-D arrived today :)
It is revision A02 :)
But I have to go to work now and interview potential University Undergraduates
HCC- I will do some measurements for a waterblock for the chipset. There is not much room! Block will only be be able to be 12mm thick max by the look of it
:D THX mate - these are good news........... :toast:Quote:

I'm working on OCing my system (3000+, PDP XBL 1GB, DFI NF4 Ultra-D) and all the BIOS options threw me for a loop initially. I've found most of them explained on a few other sites, but I can't find any info on LDT Voltage Control. Could someone explain guidelines for setting this?
Also, if anyone that's achieved their max OCs would be willing to post screens of their BIOS settings (cause it's a hell of a lot to type out), that'd be really helpful. If someone is willing to do this, but doesn't have a way to get a screen of them, I'll gladly type up all the options and you can just fill in the blanks. Thanks!
real good idea...i will be getting my ultra this week but wont have anything else till next week, need to order it all. :) want to see uber leet oc's ;D
Did anyone try this board with CH-5 ramm, do the deviders work with it?
well my sli-dr just came in, but I don't have a pci-e video card. thought I had 2 more day's till the board came in.
My 3 year old summed up first thoughts on this board
"Wow, Daddy, that's a cool motherboard!" :)
I got rev A1. Hope that won't be a problem.
:D Nice kids this generation, will become great overclocker when grown up...... :toast:Quote:

Does OCZ DDR BOOSTER work with this board if I switch VDIMM jumper to +3.3V line
:D Interesting question but what advantage do You see compared to swich the jumper and go for 4V ???Quote:

No, dont want to burn those mosfet's ;)
Here is a shot of my DFI DR-SLI mobo with 2 NV40-U. I think the NV5 Silencers will fit.
:D AFAIK MOSFETS only start coocking if You're on the 5V rail and use VdimmQuote:

yeah, basicly if you're using 3.5v you'll be in less trouble near as I can tell. Still make sure they're well cooled

Likwidkool, did she really said the word motherboard? If yes, I guess you are not currently showing her how to walk but how to overclock:D
I don't see a problem, good father(?)/mother(?) :D

Re the 5v line... if I were to run 3.3v vdimm I would have to use the 5v line right? 3.3 rail upto 3.2v & >= 3.3v is off the 5v rail...?
you can also just incrase your 3.3v rail so its high enough. Don't use the 5v rail to get 3.3v...that will make alot of heat
jjcom
As long as there is a fan over the upper right mosfet.... it's fine and it won't get too hot. Using the 5v for some reason made things much more stable for me. Check out my cool results with the DFI NF4 Ultra board.

I do have a fan on that part of the board. Everything stays cool.
Karajan onboard sound or Audigy 1?
I own an Audigy and I'm not sure about wich card to use.
Wich will have better quality? (Audigy is not one of the best sound cards I know)
If Karajan is at least as good as Audigy, will onboeard sound affect performance? does it need more processor? old onboard sound cards used to consume cpu btw I'm not sure if that is still used to be.
for games why not get Audigy 2 ZS? The price has come down quite a bit. For music and audio in general get the Chaintech 710.
