With the right config, 2 crucial m4's can do 1500 in virus scan. They won't do so well in general usage, which is what you need big onboard controller cache for I believe.
So 2x in sata iii would be my choice in your boat for now.

Is there any point to running 3d11 with 955 X4 or thuban make a big difference.

Take note Splave you need 5 scores on 5 different setups that use a different CPU core (wolfdale, bloomfield,...).
So 5 X S2011 : only best score counts...
Been doing my head in with Pcmark7... Scales with raw cpu frequency, little bit with storage devices and IE9... Seems a 95% software bench... sigh... overclocker not a programmer...

We've already got the three obvious choices, BD, Lynfield, SB-e. SB is pretty much tops out at about 2300. Llano would be a good choice. Then something on x58. Remember, this is based on core, so you can use a gulftown and then something else. I tried to see what my 920 can push yesterday, but it's damn hard getting passed 250 bclk on my classified and thats pretty much where i maxed out. Still not a bad score for a bloomfield.

Tried both Dominator GT 2kc7 and GSkill 2.2kc7-10-10 both reboot at the same point (just over 1177), makes me think I have something wrong in my set up?
I have run cpu/nb up to 1.4v, nb @ 1.3 and dramv up to 1.89.

Steve, Hypers are not the best choice for max MHz on BD, try working with your Ripjaws X and at lower Volts. Hypers were causing problems on Thuban @ LN2 as well if I recall correctly.
I just snagged a 2GB Hynix value stick at ebay for 4€ shipped, should be Hynix BFR chips. :)
psc/bdbg should work well also.
I didn't get 1500+
but I did improve against the bbse kits. psc fared better for high frequency. no coldbug on the psc kits :D -191c for 5hours. but bullfaildozer was bad. I used the farthest slot which might have caused my awful result.
I used 9920 bios, 2v on memory. nothing special on the cpu voltages I tried keeping the bd alive for the sli tonight.
Refilling my empty 25L, tonight I'll have 45L
