If these arent out by the time I verify my paypal account im ordering a 3500 Clawhammer to entertain myself
by the way... does monarch offer a warranty for OEMs? or is it just 30 days like newegg  ??? I would hate to order OEM and have it come deffective.. I live in another country where its a hassle to send stuff to and from the us :(
Why would a gaming PC have an FX5200 in it? GO GET A 6800GT ASAP!! :ROTF:Quote:

I have been reading up on computers since June of last year. I intended to replace my system with a propor gaming computer. And after waiting one year, I hear Venice will be out on a month. Since I intend to OC, I thought I would wait. Well, here I am. 1.5 months later and still running on a 3 year old computer! :( :(
yea many of us arent too :) that venice and diego have been delayed but amd doesnt care, most people dont overclock and it wont matter if its a winny or venice. Just get a cheap 3000+ winny for now like I said :)
 Uh-oh. Replying to my own post: The dates on Monarch's site have changed - some have moved up, and some have moved back. My link quoted above still works, follow it to get whatever Monarch is claiming right now. :nono: Sigh. I guess I will sit on my money until Newegg shows the 3700 in stock - that's a site I can actually trust. Still waiting . . .Quote:

OMFG!! They moved the 3500+ venice ship date down to april 27th! Also it's funney the sandiegos are shipping sooner than the Venice.
Now my little devil on my left shoulder is telling me to: "DO IT!! PRE ORDER NOW!!! YOU KNOW YOU WANT SOME VENICE GOODNESS!!"
And my little angel on my right shoulder is telling me: "Alas, good things come to those who wait and you know the 3700+ with it's 1MB cache will completely own a similarly clocked Venice. Is it worth getting the venice 2 weeks earlier? I think not"
I'm having another aneurism... :coffee: :stick:
get both :D
Yes then sent to Singapore for final testing and then sent to their distribution hubs worldwide.Quote:

runs WoW so I'll be fine waiting till it ever gets into retail channel
i wonder if amd will completely stop production of winchester when venice and san diego are available in mass quantity. anyone got inside info?
Yes completely stopped fabrication - might still be some cores awaiting assembly though.
so what's my chance of returning a 3200+ winnie after 6mos or 1 year and get a venice as a replacement? i got a 3200+ retail :).
Oh believe me I still have my Intel rig that's on my sig, BUT I don't have my gem of a 6800 limited edition. And now I'm getting desperate that's all.
AMD will likely hold onto a few thousand for just such an eventuality. After all think about Barton desktop users etc.Quote:

If the chips are on their way to Singapore, I have some contacts I can phone to have them intercepted :hrhr:
These cpus left Singapore ages ago!
I hope they are sleepin in Ingram Micro warehouses now :DQuote:

Just want to add something while passing time waiting on the venice to come. looks like intel is making a killing with their mobile business as shown by their quarterly report. i think amd is under pressure to produce and make a profit for themselve. the heat is on amd, hope you can execute better. disappoint your enthusiast fans will not look good because we're the ones doing the pr work for you trying to get others to go with amd. paper launch a product or not or whatever excuses you have, don't do it again. i hope amd can improve their execution when they release desktop dual core. i'm a huge amd fan dating back to the k6. i hope i don't have to go to the darkside :). peace
