Here is a shot of my DFI DR-SLI mobo with 2 NV40-U. I think the NV5 Silencers will fit.
:D AFAIK MOSFETS only start coocking if You're on the 5V rail and use VdimmQuote:

yeah, basicly if you're using 3.5v you'll be in less trouble near as I can tell. Still make sure they're well cooled

Likwidkool, did she really said the word motherboard? If yes, I guess you are not currently showing her how to walk but how to overclock:D
I don't see a problem, good father(?)/mother(?) :D

Re the 5v line... if I were to run 3.3v vdimm I would have to use the 5v line right? 3.3 rail upto 3.2v & >= 3.3v is off the 5v rail...?
you can also just incrase your 3.3v rail so its high enough. Don't use the 5v rail to get 3.3v...that will make alot of heat

As long as there is a fan over the upper right mosfet.... it's fine and it won't get too hot. Using the 5v for some reason made things much more stable for me. Check out my cool results with the DFI NF4 Ultra board.

I do have a fan on that part of the board. Everything stays cool.
Karajan onboard sound or Audigy 1?
I own an Audigy and I'm not sure about wich card to use.
Wich will have better quality? (Audigy is not one of the best sound cards I know)
If Karajan is at least as good as Audigy, will onboeard sound affect performance? does it need more processor? old onboard sound cards used to consume cpu btw I'm not sure if that is still used to be.
for games why not get Audigy 2 ZS? The price has come down quite a bit. For music and audio in general get the Chaintech 710.
If I decide to spend more money on this system I will go for Audigy 2ZS. However, since I've already spent much more than I should, I must decide between Audigy 1 and onboard Karajan sound. Audigy's quality is not the best one, so I wounder how good is onboard one and If enabling it affects overall performance.
if you already have the Audigy, then i can't see what's the problem!
get the MoBo, try the Karajan, then try the Audigy & finally DECIDE! :D :D
Weird, but my particular board runs VERY hot if using Vdimm from 5v rail. The heatsink on the mosft at the edge of the board is so hot that I can't hold my finger on there for more than a second.Quote:

Also, what temperatures are you running the chipset at with that heatsink?
^sounds like the 5v will run hot like that if your using less then 3.3-3.5....
sorry if thats already been said...
archer i think he said he got it off some old asus. or other mobo. gl finding one though
lol..thought the same :)Quote:

Edit: onboard sound might be a bit crappy....i mean if i spend so much on the board, gfx-card, CPU and OCZ ram for a great gaming machine then please also get a decent sound card for it. the $42 is a very good price.
Damn, that means it will be a very hard time to track something like that down. :\Quote:

Yep! He is really smart. I built him his own computer out of dead parts for him to play with!:)Quote:

Hey maybe I am bad, but I quizz him on the different part's and such. Anytime I am working on my rig, he put's on his anti static wrist strap, and get's out his tool box. This boy loves to help!
Copper heatsinks attached with Artic Creqmic with a fan blowing on them.Quote:
