hello :)
umm i just got batch 3845B271 any word on how this batch is doing guys ?
have not tested much yet but so far have it stable @ 4.3 @ 1.31V with HT ON.
this was taken early in the run which then failed after 8 mins ... but its fully stable @ 1.31V :)

Got a 3845B259 tonight from Microcenter, it needs 1.37v for 4.2GHz and needs 1.39v VTT for 4GHz uncore. :( The 3849B018 I have does it at 1.34v with 1.34v VTT for 4GHz uncore, but, it acts weird with voltages. Only stable at 1.21v VTT or 1.34v VTT, anything else will blue screen. It is picky about core voltages too, they need to be within specific areas, too high or low and it'll have problems. Should have stuck with my C0, it'll do 4.3.
Batch 3845A935 is very good:up:

I've tested two week 45s, B027 and B026, both were very good OCers. The B027 is the highest ranked 920 at hwbot at 5383.7 Mhz. Also it ran prime95 continuously at 4267 Mhz and 1.184 Vcore, on air.

The B026 chip matched it OC wise on air, I never tested it subzero cooling.
amazing 4267@1.184
I am rock solid stable at 4.4Ghz at 1.36V with hyper threading enabled very impressive stepping indeed. I am on water so my temps are very manageable I never get above 70C best chip I have ever owned...
guys, is this considered bad =(

1.3V in bios
Just got a second 920 for a HTPC /general purpose family computer. Here's how it OCs on dry ice:
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=596380
This is good for 7th place on HWbot, max OC .
my DICE pot is a hardware store copper end cap and a copper tube to match, cost $8.00

also, I ran 3DM06, 3D game simulations only (I haven't played a CPU rendered shooter game since 1996, so I don't bench that)

batch is 3849B016. Not as strong as my first place 3845B027 performance (5383.7 Mhz), still reaching the upper 5200s is pretty good.
3845B223 not a golden one but more than average i think...
@ 4.2 Ghz rock stable under 1.225V
HT ON, turbo ON, speed step ON
All other Voltages on standard and memory @ 1.65 (dominator GT)
pic shows with SPeedstep on :( but just watch the BClcK

I'd say these numbers are considerably above average....nice job!
got mine today.
Batch is 3907A338 produced in Costa Rica.
I just did a quick 0C with 200x21=4200 @ 1,28v which seemed to work fine.
Now im currently testing it with CPU's normal voltages so far i'm @ 3570 MHz with 1,16v set as default voltage by bios.
I make some screens later i'mma just to find out what a D0 can do i just recently hit the 1366 with a C0.
i wonder why is my processor using 1.2 volts when under load, and 1.264 when idle?
I grabbed a 3945B260 but not sure how OCable it is. Just not sure if I should open and try it or sell it for a marginal profit.
Which of these batch may be the best?
3852a277
3849a824
3851a286
3850a319
3850b177
3908A419
3845B258
I have the 3849a822 myself which clocks pretty good (1.31v 4.3ghz prime and linx stable HT off)
It seems the 3845B027 is the best of all... it makes me think that most week 45 cpu's clock good... so if you take the last one, that 3845b258 then I think you have a reasonable chance of a good overclocker.
week 49 isn't too shabby either but I had no choice lol... :D
well.. couldn't drop the vcore lower than 1.3 :(
i've still got 10 days left of 30 days trade in thing, do you guys think i should try luck with other batch or stick with current?
current:
3847A839
191x21; 4011 MHz
HT on
1.3000 V in bios
1.264 V idle in windows
1.2000 under load
40 C temp idle (Titan Fenrir, fans 45%)
75 C under load with Linx
stable 50 linx passes
if i drop vcore just one lower, it fails linx after 20 seconds lol
mobo: ga ex58 ud5; f7 bios
would you say guys i should send it back and try the other batch, or this is just fine for 24/7 use and i should chill out? :D
also, what do you think about mobo? (i could get rampage II extreme for 75$ more)
thanx for replies =)
Anyone have a 3849B040? I just got it from microcenter, no board or anything else yet, but I would like to know what to expect(so i'm not too surprised when it clocks like crap :p:)
Edit: seems like someone has one that is the same time-made cpu as me... but is the number after the batch the CPU number during production or something? In other words, what part of this batch actually defines which "family" the chip is in.
Mine's not a golden one, also would love to have an EVGA Classified

You can do that on Air with a W3520 with less Volts - 220x21.
CPU score of almost 8400 but using XP Pro 32-bit.

^ Holy crap:shocked: nice one... how did you manage that with under 1.3 volts?
I would love to see prime95 load temps on that.
I have batch 3849B056 at Microcenter, currently stable at 3.9 GHz 1.25v full load
I have not tried any further or lower vcore,
Any one have the same batch ??
