I'm not having any issues with SLI as well.
Will sure try this... but later on. Im really tired of dealing with so much stuff right now (from this pc only) that I want to rest for a while. Give me a day or two since opening this bulldozer is really annoying... (got to move lots of stuff)
Are you using same (or similar) hardware to mines? Have you tried the settings, drivers, BIOS and OS that Im using?
I can't match your hardware 100% ( I'm not crazy rich, neither have support from every single manufacturer ) m8.
But if you can list the drivers that you're currently using, and you're also willing to run some stuff that I'll tell you to, then I can be your "beta tester" ;)
Hehe, thats why I said "(or similar)" :D
I also mentioned this in the freeze thread, Im using BIOS 0704, GeForce 175.16WHQL, Windows XP SP2 (SP2 or SP3 gives same result). Using this together with Media player classic and VLC player with K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 3.9.5.
See if you can install that and try
"Bookmarked", will check it out this Monday/Tuesday ( gotta prepare some stuff for benching now for the weekend )
New NForce drivers are on the NVidia site:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_vista64_15.17.html
http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_vista_15.17.html
Its either those nforce drivers, or these beta geforce drivers, or well, both.
But, i completed the first level of CoH:OF with SLI, usually i cant get 1/3rd of the way with SLI enabled.
Now i just played about an hour and a half of Crysis, no hassles.
Of course, now that ive said that im going to get a freeze.
But until then, im a happy chappy :D
Thats ok my friend :)
Yeah, they were released yesterday. I hate when they dont post a changelog though. Add to this that XP didnt get the update and still with the 9.64
Thats nice to hear :)
But I always could play games with no freezes in sli, try a video and see if you are finally estable, if so, then that could mean 1) I should go to Vista (nooo!) 2) wait for the XP new drivers
BTW, what geforce beta drivers are you using? 175.80?
http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_winxp_15.17.html
And this is my first Vista system, but i have to say, i actually like vista :D.
And i cant remember the geforce drivers, but someone posted them here or in the asus forums, theyre the 176.xx or something, i have a short memory :yepp:.
I did find slim, that my TV (inside the PC of course) is very jumpy with SLI enabled, it always has been, even when SLI wasnt so stable, but as for watching movies and crashing, i havnt had that yet (although i havnt watched anything really, just put on a movie for 5 minutes to see if it would crash).
Coupa, dont leave me alone on this man, Dont! :p:
Thanks for posting updated XP drivers, I will try these and see if I finally get my freakin ethernet ports back and If this solves anything related to the SLI issues. I kinda miss First packet and Teaming
To check your version, could you please go to NVIDIA Control Panel->Help-> system information and it should show you the driver version you have. I would really like to know this! (Even though you might be using a Vista32 only driver, this would still be usefull info)
Finally, bro, I know you are not a tester for anybody, but if you could please verify that video issues with SLI enabled are gone, I would really appreciate!. We all need divx, xvid, matroska codecs etc to watch videos/movies, so if you have any movie in your pc that uses this codecs could you just play it and minimize it and see if you freeze after ~5 minutes.
EDIT: I see it weird that I when I manually go to nvidia.com, then drivers, then nforce XP, I get 9.64 :S , how did you guys find out there were new drivers? :S
EDIT#2: Wow, when I try to download the drivers, it tells me Maintenance, The page you have requested is currently undergoing maintenance and will be available again shortly. LOL!
Version 177.26 for my Geforce drivers, and for the nforce drivers, someone posted the vista32 link in the asus forums, so i changed it to vista64, but while i was looking for the vista64 ones (before i gave up and just typed it in) i used the google site search for 15.17, and the xp drivers came up, so i just posted them here for you. When i manually searched i came up with the "old" drivers too.
Tommorow ill run a full movie for you while im doing something else, maybe when i go to work or something.
Just got of playing crysis for another 2 hours. Got to the no gravity level, and can i just say...WOW, on very high it looks absolutely amazing! Then i had to go to MEDIUM quality just to run the snow level. I mean, 2 9800GTXs and i was still getting 15 fps on very high!
I am trying to download the vista x64 drivers, but I am not able to, the page is under manteinance.. Anybody knows a different link?
Hey Tyke
So how good is that adaptec raid controller? And why didnt you just use mediashield? too crappy for you? :P
:shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked:
Try this slim
http://us.download.nvidia.com/Window...ernational.exe
It(the link) worked for me.
NVM, the driver doesn't seem to work. When i Tried installing it, it said vista 64 and i still went ahead and installed it, but it doesn't work.
Ok after some googling, it seems like they(nvidia) messed around with naming the drivers and linking to them. Actually, you need to download the vista x32 version for xp.
The link to the driver and the actual source where I found about it is here. Reading through that Forum, it seems like the only chane is the Ethernet drivers, maybe it will help Slim with his driver installation problem in xp.
I knew the onboard RAID was inferior to a dedicated controller but by this much is pretty sad.
Also can't believe how slow RAID 0+1(aka RAID 10) is. I thought RAID 10 was as fast as RAID 0 just with added redundency.
Check it out. this is with onboard Nvidia mediashield
RAID 0 Seagate 7200.10 32MB Enterprise Drives
RAID 0+1 4 Seagate 7200.1 32MB Enterprise drives.
No so good
