OK, thanks for your answer. So I guess my previous setting of 2.06 (I manually typed 2.05 in bios, but it saves as 2.06) was about right.

Anyone know what the Vdimm is set at on Auto? 1.8?
does this mainboard have the set up item—— ram remaping function —— under bios the advance- nb section?
is this pretty good,i am new here to forum:welcome:
Hi guys, just a question.
What are the normal temps of the board? I´m having 42-43 playing crysis, is this to mutch?
Idle around 30.
I'm using Everest Ultimate v4.1-something. But also note that like I said in my previous post, a couple of times I've checked AI Suite when Everest stops reporting NB temps, and AI Suite says NB temps are 180-190C. The NB obviously ISN'T 180-190C, since I'd be able to feel that kind of heat on the heatsink.

New bios for P5E:

2 passes of memtest with my crucial ballistix tracers 8500. its stable so far :) good signs. it use to fail on test 4 on the 1st pass on STOCK speeds. i'm testing it at stock speeds for now. then start overclocking it
FYI Problems on GSkill F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000)
Well, first of all, ,I have an Asus P5E X38 motherboard, and the RAM wasn't really stable on my slots 1 and 3, I switched them to 2 and 4, enabled Loadline Calibration, disabled transaction booster (relax level to 0), set my RAM to 2.06v (motherboard overvolts by 0.04v) and here I am, with a stable DDR2 800 4-4-4-12 1T running a nice 1:1 ratio with my 3.2GHz Q6600 (8*400)."CPU Volt ETC all AUTO No Vdrop at all"
not sure if that helps I can set that up on new bios 0601
looks like asus ftp server its down
could someone upload the p5e 0601 bios here ?
thanks in advance

Asus P5E Bios 0601
+1
Asus P5E Bios 0601 loaded from file using the update thing that is on the cd left me with a 12 day old non posting board :\
-E- Turns out to be not BIOS related somehow.
Right now testing the limits of my new 8400 on a P5E with bios 502.
I don't want to mess with another bios now, so i'll wait for a few more user info... :)
Any idea if that cooler will fit on P5E ?

I did order the mobo from 2 days hopefully it will come soon ill post my results then.
0601 bios still fails memtest with crucial ballistix tracer 8500 ram at stock speeds. many people on the asus forums has this problem as well. come on asus and fix the problem already.
i can do a prime blend for 14hours+ but fail memtest in the first pass.
Bios update '0601' is to "Fix system fail to resume from S3 when using production version of Wolfdale CPU" from 'Bios History' of their support page. I am not clear how the 'S3' option in the Power Menu of the bios affects the 'sleep' mode in Vista, which I use? I have an E8400 on the way, so I am not clear if I need this update.
0601 seems fine, I think it was to fix a stall that occured every now and then when you rebooted with a 45nm chip
