I think my unstableness is caused by the tight timings trfc? this bios uses. Wonder what 1101 used then i could use memset to use them.

mine are set a bit tight as well.
Would you mind telling me where to download memset? I've looked everywhere for it, but no luck.
Thanks
That's normal timings if you've set 4-4-4-12 in the BIOS. I assume you're not using the 1402 BIOS then The Nemesis?Quote:

No, that's the 1402 Bios with manual enabled, 4-4-4-12 set in bios 9 X 400. I thought they were tight compared to Jimbo's but perhaps not.Quote:

With bios 1402 and 1403, I can't get it to POST with an fsb above ~385Mhz. However it is rocksolid at that speed in Windows. Really annoying, the screen just remains dark :mad:Quote:

I had 1403 yesterday ;)
yeesh, we need a dedicated thread just to keep up with the BIOS releases!

The only thing I have to do different is use more vcore (1.525v) with 8 multiplier than needed with 9 (1.475v). If I switch back to 9 multiplier the same vcore passes orthos @ previous tested speeds (9 X 400 3.6ghz). My board will only do 1mb Pi above 440FSB so I don't consider that very stable. Here are my bios settings @ 440 which is 32mb Pi stable:Quote:

I wana overclock my E6600 on P5W DH Dlx and i have few questions,
-first thing i wan't to know what other settings do i need specialy to care about like PEG Link(which settings is best for PEG Link so mobo don't overclock my GFX) and how do i need to set them?
-how to reset BIOS if something goes wrong(any jumpers or something else(location?) and what to do with them?)?
-is it cool if i set PCI-E to 88Mhz and PCI to 33Mhz(any better settings)?
and one a bit off-topic questions but..., what are max safe temps on E6600, because on the Intel site it says not to go over 60 d. celsium, but i don't know due to which temps BIOS (Asus Probe,SpeeFan,...) or CoreTemp????
- id like to know about PEG myself
- you just restart usually fixes it or move cmos jumper
- you want 100/33.3
Is there any guide or instructions how to update BIOS on P5W DH Dlx, i don't know which files needs to be on floppy and how to update than?
Do you think it is possbile to make BIOS CD update by this way:
http://www.bay-wolf.com/bootcd6.htm from floppy disk?, but first I need to make floppy disk with BIOS, but is this way safe?
Is there anything else to do after BIOS update like reseting BIOS and how to do it??
all you need to do is put the bios like on a usb key or CD by itself
go into asus ez flash
and locate it and flash
just use asusupdate to switch your bios, it's fast and works fine.
I flashed to 1403.I didn't understand the use of "Digital Home Mode".Is it smth for the remote? There is no option for ecc now and i saw a change of vcore colors.
Hello all ,
Maybe some of you have the same odd problem or have the solution to the problem. When ever I fire up AI Booster it shows my set FSB for a few seconds and then downclocks a yet undetermined value. I have all option in Bios related to the CPU disabled except the Micro Updation. Any Ideas ?
If you select it, it explains the use on the right. Apparently it's what controls the fan speeds to keep your system quiet, although I thought that's what Q-Fan was for. Perhaps it allows the remote to actually utilize the feature or can disable it.Quote:

should that say "...mark the IDE ports AS "not intalled" in the bios"??
I have all SATA drives - optical as well as HD. They are listed as IDE Master and Slave in the Bios.... Is that correct?
I have the same problem, but I come to the conclusion that AI Booster is buggy and just plain sucks, so I disable it. Sometimes it show my clock speed as overclock by as much as 100 mhz, then it downclocks 200 mhz, very weird bug. I am now using Everest Ultimate Edition and the readings are correct.Quote:
