If it'll do 275 3-3-3-8 2T, it'll do that in 1T. I gained NOTHING from trying 2T. Your ASUS probably can't cope however.

yea it's the asus.. i know i can get 290 at least.. but not on this pos.. i suppose i'll try to get me stuff working on teh dfi today. i can boot at 275 x 12 on the asus tho so maybe i can get like 3.1 stable on the dfi :p:

Kinda answers the question as to where those good overclocking Infineon chips went.

Hey guys, i decided on getting 2x1GB instead of 4x512...
boy what a nightmare did i run into lol... getting a headache just like perc. ;)
What's the ram to get performance/price?

Pretty good i guess considering 2GB of that is cheaper than 2GB of good 512mb sticks. Upgradability is the main reason i'm leaning towards 1GB sticks though. (i might need 4GB) Four of these will function at 2T right?

Yep. 2T. NewEgg has 99+ sticks of the Crucial in stock right now. Thats the largest stock I've seen from them since I started tracking the stock levels on those sticks. If they go on sale, I'll pull the trigger on a pair. :)

I just got a shipping notification from Outpost on a pair of Patriot 1 gig sticks I had on back ordered at $100 a stick. I hope I get the good one. Any visual clues to look for to confirm CE-6?

As far as I see, only opening up the spreaders will tell you. Also the pCb is red though not a guarantee of CE-6 modules. Best of luck

Zalman used to make a fan mounting kit, looked nice and not ghetto.
Otherwise, ghetto rig it.

I've been looking my self, and dont seem to see any one else reporting on CE-6 Infineons. I'd kinda like to nail a par down fro my other game rig.

i just ordered a pair of crucial ballistix 1gb ddr500 sticks from newegg (here) last night, and they should come tomorrow or thursday. i'm hoping that even though i didn't buy them in a matched set, they still clock to at least 260mhz or higher. my current ram only maxes out at 220mhz and that was on my nforce2 board.

i plan to run the ballistix at 245mhz 2.5-3-3-8-1T maybe, and then probably lower multi and try for higher fsb (i have a feeling my cpu has a wall of 2.45ghz on the current cooling and with ihs).

can't wait :)

thanks! i've been overclocking since my pentium 133 and i hope to learn even more tips in these forums.

fyi, when i checked the stock of those ballistix last night, i was able to put 44 in my cart! clearly newegg recently got a big shipment of these in, so any of you interested can stay tuned with my results and possibly take the dive yourself if all goes well. hell, you don't even really need my results to see that these sticks are pretty amazing.

Glue gun, take a big fan and create a windtunnel by using cardboard and a gluegun, should cool plenty.

i belive they still do? i bought one its called a zalman fan braket it costs like 15 bucks you get a fan and the bracket. the bracket bolts to your case and you can position fans from the vidoe card all the way up to your cpu and if your memory is above your cpu like mine are then the fan also covers the memory just fine.... good luck.
